Review from a new newbie - Every session I join I meet so many new, focused, and completely respectful people. Everyone has been consistently generous in allowing me to learn without feeling stupid. At times I feel guilty because I feel like I'm taking away from their training but that's not the case at all, or at least they don't make you feel that way when asking questions to better your technique. I can tell these insane, humble warriors carry themselves on/off the mats VERY well. Every single person in this photo submitted me over 10-20 times yesterday but the best part is that I feel stronger today because of it. I'm a larger guy (middle) but that means zero in the BJJ world. Thank you 10th Planet Corona for motivating me to get up and stop procrastinating. Today I was so energetic I woke up at 5:30am and started doing push-ups and ran a few times around the block and I've only had 4 sessions. I can't wait for tonight's class. I'll begin by giving a huge shoutout to Coach Tony, coach Rueben, and coach Jeremy and my boy coach Dare devil. When you walk in you'll notice it's a small space, it's tucked between a few other industrial units. Nothing shiny or fancy about it, but this place has become a second home for me the last 3 years. Everyone is extremely helpful, you can walk in with all the nonsense you've been carrying and leave with some sweat and renewed sense of vigor to carry on for the day. If you have an attitude or a chip on your shoulder you will get it strangled out of you. Time to get very personal. During Covid, my mental health declined very rapidly. With everything shutdown and working from home with a wife and kids, I needed an outlet. I was able to get into the noon classes 3 times a week and I honestly don't know if I would still be here if I didn't have that outlet. The support of others struggling but still making the effort to train and push through regardless of the issues we were all facing at the time helped me to push through, even got my blue belt through all of it. To sum it all up, this place is what you make of it. There are some absolute savages here, if you show up and make an effort and push yourself you will see results, if you show up once a week and barely put the effort forward you won't get much but a sore neck out of it. What was done was criminal! Interesting I also read someone else posting a review along those same lines that the owners being dishonest and used her credit card for other charges! Saw this place, called in and expressed my interest in bjj. Told them that I really could only do the morning, they said they had a top level morning class, I went to go check it out he next day, and was completely blown away!!! I was excited to see that a 10th planet school opened up near where I was already training. I want to train without the Gi and this place seemed like the place to go. As I walk inside the building to check it out I am hit by the smell of smoke that makes me take a step back to make sure I didn't walk into a drug lab. The instructor I spoke with was so out of it he couldn't even answer any basic questions about the school. What people do on their own time is their business but seriously in a school, in a shopping center, when you are waiting for customers?!?! I left with nothing more than a copy of their schedule.
