I came out and visited 10P Murrieta on a Saturday as I was attending a Wim Hof Fundamental Seminar at the ocation. I saw on the schedule they had a leg lock class on Saturdays and did a drop in. First thing I noticed walking in was how clean the floors were and how they had food baths set up prior to getting on the mats. Theres a saying in Jiu Jitsu gyms that if you don't see people cleaning the mats then the mats don't get cleaned. Well Murrieta cleans their mats prior to their classes and even does a deep cleaning where they remove them and scrub under the mats. Anyway enough of me nerding out about how serious they take cleaning and keeping their students safe. Prior to class I was able to talk to the instructor and get an idea of what was going to be covered. I was a bit worried because it sounded pretty advanced and not something a 40 year old dude was going to be good at. This worries ended up to be unfounded though because Drew was able to explain how to do the moves safely and by the end of the class I felt really comfortable with the inversion. Its actually become a go to of mine lately when someone stands up, and every time I think of the details Drew gave me that make it easy. There was an uneven number of particpants in class so I thought I was going to get stuck in a group of three. Nope. I was a drop in and the instructor took the time to partner with me for drills. This was so far above expectations I can't even express how cool it is to think you're going to be a third wheel and get less reps and then wham not only do you get the reps but you get the instructor helping you and guide you through. TLDR: Clean, friendly, and detailed instruction with the tips to make it easy. This is a place you will thrive if you want to be a grappler. read more

Look no Further******************** We tried 4 other gyms after our trial class at 10th planet and immediately came back to sign up. This gym is the only location where my kids felt more of a family/community then just a number or their monthly income. The coaches are fully invested in your children and their success. Since joining we have seen tremendous growth in both of our daughters Jiu Jitsu, confidence and social life. Coach Drew, Jeff and Johnny are very supportive towards both kids and adults. My daughter has formed a friendship with some of the female adults and I must say Monica in the office is amazing with my daughter, always encouraging her, giving her tips, offering her support and inviting her to their women's only class on Saturday at 2 pm. I trained at 10th planet for 3-4 months before moving to Scottsdale, AZ. The short time I was there I met some great and humble people. The 10th Planet organization is truly like a close family. I came to train on the back-end of a Veteran scholarship after moving from Oceanside. I can't say enough good things about Coach Drew and the coaching staff. After comparing other gyms, this place is it. Once my scholarship ended and work picked up again, my daughter was interested in trying it out after playing soccer for a few years. My daughter loves it, and hasn't looked back since. While most gyms have either a family-oriented vibe or are strictly focused on skills/winning, 10th Planet Murrieta does both extremely well. All 3 of my kids go to 10th Planet. All the coaches have been great with the kids. Stern enough so kids don't mess around but soft enough when my littlest gets frustrated because she's small and isn't as strong as some of the bigger kids. I've been a martial artist my whole life. I've always wanted to put some extra focus on Jiu-Jitsu, especially without the Gi. While I've been in class with some really great instructors in the past, there's usually more focus either on training in the Gi, or not enough step by step instructions for newer people. My problem is that I've done grappling before, but there's so many holes in what I know. The 10th Planet system breaks everything down so simply that everyone, at all skill levels can learn from any class. 10th Planet Murrieta has a couple of great coaches who are patient, knowledgeable and always having fun in class. I came in for open mat, one of the coaches (andrew I believe is his name) was so welcoming as was everyone else on the mat. I wish I was able to go to a class but unfortunately was not able to. I started training under head instructor Andrew Murillo a little over a year ago now. After my first day of training, I signed up and have been back every day since. It feels so damn good to feel like you belong somewhere and training here has changed my life in the best ways possible.
