    Butterbeer latte
    Luke W.

Great and super seamless experience with the Joe Coffee app which provides excellent rewards, ordered en route for pickup and was blown away by not just the latte options but also the milks! This is how to coffee. Went with a Butterbeer and soy milk latte, was ready when I arrived a couple minutes later, I found a quaint small town restaurant with easy access and parking in the Hoopston downtown. It is sad to see so many small towns decaying into history but little shops like this serving a harty variety and excellent friendly service are the best chance for reviving ye olde Midwest villages. I also noticed plenty of room for making a good time here. Got back on the road and found the butterbeer extremely sweet, easy to drink, and flavor filled just enough to balance the espresso which I wasn't expecting top tier smug brew shop quality roast but the blend made the journey much sweeter.

The Caesar dressing is light and tasty though it does have a definite anchovy essence. You have to enjoy anchovies I think to appreciate. Get the homemade focaccia with butter. They infuse the butter differently given the season; ours was made with herbs they grow in house. I have a student at Purdue and will be back here on every visit just for that bread. The tiramisu was positively delicious.

That includes Three Floyd's stouts which rival sewage. Charcuterie board was fine. Salad a typical strawberry affaire. Chocolate Torte and my Teays River lager the two redeeming qualities. It's a fun space with outdoor seating, a lot of energy and only the tiny wall bar space left for us. Maybe I'll try again but with many better places offering bigger menus, better value, and in tune service like Black Sparrow, Red Seven, and my all time city favorite Town and Gown, I suspect I'll let all the others enjoy the wine here since all I did was whine!

We went on a Friday afternoon, and there were people in there, but still quiet, which was nice. We sat at the bar, and our server was helpful and checked us without being overbearing. The menu selection is great - not too small, not too big. Wines from different US locations, but also France, Italy, etc., so a nice option for everyone. They also had a board with special limited releases. We each had our own glass of wine and shared a third to try 3 different wines. Their prices are super reasonable, and they have quality selections. We also ordered some cheese to snack on. Delicious charcuterie options, as well as some other items like The Rock's hummus - yum! This is such a gem for the area. You can also take items home and shop from their storefront. Nice staff and a thoughtful menu. We will be back next time we are in town!

Mostly because they're elsewhere slamming bad beers and Jell-O shots probably. That leaves more room for us here though. Choosing was made easier by the limited choices. It's got a wine list with only a few each of reds and whites, with quite a few California ones. They have some Italian ones too. Good prices for a glass. It's about $9 for a glass of the Sandhi. Basically this is a Chardonnay from the Central Coast. The Central Coast of California that is. It's about $2 for munchies such as apricots. They also have charcuterie boards with cheeses and meats. For sure it's a chill place compared to other bars on campus. It's open from the afternoons to the evenings. They're closed Sundays.

But if you want to take a break, grab a beer and get some good homemade bar grill food, turn off the main drag (in this case, Highway 1) and go a block or two into the business district of Milford, where there is an awesome little bar with an upfront grill (the cleanest I've ever seen) dishing up homemade soup, awesome burgers and pub food, great deep fry, and some kind of daily special -- including a home made desert (we had awesome pumpkin bars but they usually have pie). On weekends they have crazy cheap steak, fish fry, and prime rib specials. You have to put up with the country music channel on the tv...(but on the flip side they have free wifi, so don't bitch). All in all it's clean, cheap, good, and friendly -- so why waste your change on fast food when you can get food fast, homemade good, and with a water back? It's the most pit-stop worthy place on a long empty haul where the only other attraction is an old corn silo with a tree growing inside it -- we call it the "Hannibal Lecter tree" and a big funny billboard for the "Hoopston corn jerkers." If you grew up a corn jerker, you NEED a friendly place like the Hangout. And it was even open on Easter! Hallelujah, brother, pass the fried pickles and corn nuggets!
