For this I am glad, because these friendships take me up to this very beautiful part of the state. The Colville Rez is in north central Washington state. For me, I drive from the desert and through the hilly palouse to make it up here. The reservation is in some truly beautiful country. The North Cascades are nearby and the mighty Columbia and it's canyon carve it's way around and through the reservation. I've done some nice hiking and camping up here. I've even accompanied a friend who hunts (I'm not a hunter) on a few trips. I called in my first "elks" here (yes, I called them "elks", and my homey never lets me live that down). There are cool things to do up here. There's the Omak Stampede in August. There are also many pow wows throughout the year. There are a few casinos if you're into that. I always kick myself for not getting up to Colville Country more often.

The fry bread was a little dense but of course it was good. I was a little disappointed to see all the toppings in one container. I didn't want hot soggy lettuce and tomato on my taco and I didn't want cold chili beans and cheese either. I tried to pick out the cold veggies to heat up the rest of the stuff but it was kind of a failure. Overall, it was a really good Indian taco.
