They have really great decor and a nice vibe when you come in. The workers there are really friendly and really nice. Real clean establishment. I got the Old Fashioned flight and was blown away at how good they were. Not as sweet as normal old fashioned which I like and even the one that they told me would be most prominent was still really good and not too sweet. I got a bottle of their Leatherneck Rye Whiskey out was so good. It was also their last bottle. I definitely recommend this place if you want to go out and have a nice relaxing drink. This place is a gem! We thoroughly enjoyed the tasting tour!! We learned so much! Extremely high quality liquor! Go check out 1350! Aside from that fact that they are veteran owner, the place is super nice! The staff was really friendly and they make delicious cocktails. We took home a bottle of guardian as well. We look forward to going back and maybe renting out their private room for an event. read more

WOW! We don't particularly drink alcohol, but we really enjoyed our flight which included some infusions. My favorite was the chocolate infusion. I was happy to see Rocco's as the food truck outside. They used to be right near my house, then they moved, then they closed ... and now they're a food truck! Ask about why they're "The Haunted Distillery" and Pearl! The folks working there were really nice! They have a Pokemon Go pokestop. There was a paint and sip class going on while we were there and folks playing cornhole outside. read more

On this day, April 29, 1945, my father was liberated from a German POW camp by the 4th Armored division, led by Gen. Patton. As I write this, I am attending a virtual event at 1350 in honor of Gen. Patton mainly, and my father. The celebration launched a new drink created in Gen. Patton's memory called "The Liberator." You can read about 1350 and my father on their website, 1350distilling.com. Love loving this new find! We have gone two weeks in a row now! Nestled off the main road, such a great place for a date, to come with friends. The owners are amazing, so sweet, helpful and accommodating. They explained every little detail to us and gave us the best suggestions. We love supporting a family business! Their drinks are fantastic, coming from their beautifully distilled liquor. They only use local ingredients, down to their lemonade and cola. My wife and I come to Colorado Springs every summer and this is one of our "must go to" spots! Their spirits, especially their cask strength bourbon, is top notch as well as their cocktail selections. You will not be lost on what to order because the bartenders are so helpful and knowledgeable. You just feel right at home when you come into this distillery. So impressed by this place! Hubby had an amazingly smooth bourbon, and I had a dirty martini. The vodka had a bit of carmelization to it, which was attributed to the vodka being made from local beets. We really enjoyed getting to know ne of the owners, Abby, and our bartender Jacob. Both were very knowledgeable and fun. They even convinced us Gin-haters to try theirs, which I admit, I would try again,particularly in one of their amazing mixed drinks. Drove through Colorado Springs and decided to take the tour. Jake was our guide and was very pleasant and knowledgeable. Liked hearing about the process of how the spirit is made followed up by a tasting! 9 tasters total! Ended up buying a few of our favorites (vodka and rye whisky) and has a few specialty drinks at the bar. Luckily, we had our DD! :) Bartenders were all great adding to the ambiance. Came as part of a Halloween Bus Bar Crawl. This place was not even officially opened at that time, but I guess they used the crawl as a soft opening. Decor and space is very charming. I especially liked the sofa area by the glass garage doors as it's reminiscent of a home environment. They have a shuffle board, which I think is pretty awesome as well. We bumped into this place as part of the COS passport and the drinks made are amazing. The owners were really great host. They do not sell food, but you can order from door dash and they can bring it in for you. They have a couple of game tables, but honestly the spot is super chill and plenty of TVs to watch a game. read more

We discovered this distillery by "accident." The owners are dedicated and upstanding, giving back to the military and veteran community. We did a flight of spirits and enjoyed them all. Surprisingly, we really liked the cinnamon spiced whisky and spicy pineapple infused vodka (try it with a pickle Bloody Mary!)...which says a lot because we prefer whisky flavored whisky. I love this place. It's vibe is cool and comfortable. The spirits are top notch and they're always coming up with new mixer combos, so every time is new and fun. Most importantly, the owners are wonderful people. They give back, not only to veterans, but they also support the arts and their community as a whole. Specialties

"We celebrate the American Spirit of our military and their loved ones, one drink at a time." We make vodkas, gins, rums, bourbons and rye whiskey. We have an amazing cocktail lounge with the best looking bar in the Springs and a patio with views of the front range. We pledge 10% of our profits to local veteran and family non-profits and donate 10% of our bottle sales in our taste lounge to specific charities each quarter. Most Saturdays we also offer Distillery Tours with tasters of all of our bottled spirits. Come check us out.

History

Established in 2017.

After a 27 year career in the Marines, owner and head distiller Phill Bragg decided to start a distillery unlike anything in Colorado Springs. He teamed with Jake Weien and together they started 1350 Distilling, which combines locally sourced, hand crafted spirits with an amazing taste room and cocktail lounge. After 18 months of build out they have finally opened and are doing tours, tastings and cocktails in their upscale but comfortable location on the East side of downtown Colorado Springs.

During the tour we learned about their two distillery cats, who keep the grains safe from hungry little mice, who coincidentally are named after bootleggers :) We also learned about the ghost of a little girl, which the call Molly, and about the many business ventures and owners of this historic cabin. We learned that the stained glass are very special as there is no cross lead structure keeping the glass together, we learned about the Swedish blacksmith who furnished the huge fireplace (one of the largest in CO) with it's horseshoe ornamental hooks and other ironwork. We learned about the bomb shelter in the back, as well as proper procedures and temps needed to create the various proofs they produce here. Black Bear is the only distillery in the nation who has been able to obtain permission from Ireland to produce Irish Style Whisky abroad. The atmosphere at this distillery is a great mix of history, craft, innovation and true love for their business. During the tour we learned about their two distillery cats, who keep the grains safe from hungry little mice, who coincidentally are named after bootleggers :) We also learned about the ghost of a little girl, which the call Molly, and about the many business ventures and owners of this historic cabin. We learned that the stained glass are very special as there is no cross lead structure keeping the glass together, we learned about the Swedish blacksmith who furnished the huge fireplace (one of the largest in CO) with it's horseshoe ornamental hooks and other ironwork. We learned about the bomb shelter in the back, as well as proper procedures and temps needed to create the various proofs they produce here. Black Bear is the only distillery in the nation who has been able to obtain permission from Ireland to produce Irish Style Whisky abroad. They are just a great group of people, with a passion for spirits, that want to share their love and knowledge with the world. Go see them if you have a chance.
