I was a Co-signer on the lease for my son, for Unit #722B for August 2021- July 2023…read more I have not received the refund for the security deposit paid in 2021 for $200, because the ridge wants to keep a portion of it fraudulently. As the parent paying rent for my son to live in this apartment complex, I was appalled at the non-habitable condition of apartment unit #722B where he was living with his roommates and childhood friends whom I know very well. The state of this unit was so run down, neglected, and in total disrepair, and worse still, it took over 8 months for anyone to come in and initiate any repairs to the unit. On move-in day, I found myself pinning a bedsheet to my son's window to give him some privacy, as the blinds were broken. He placed a work order for this and several other issues, and it was never repaired to date. It is also interesting that all the pending tasks that were entered into his Resident Portal that were never fulfilled vanished at the time of his graduation. I did not live with my son in this apartment unit; however, it was quite annoying to visit these boys and to see how they basically had to make do with bad, inadequate, and malfunctioning amenities. Here is my list of all the broken things in Unit #722 as of August 2021, when my son and his roommates moved into unit #722B. 1. Damaged blinds in His room - Never fixed 2. Damaged fan bulb and wobbly fan in His room - eventually fixed 3. Lifted Carpet corner near desk in His room - Never fixed 4. Closet shelf support absent in His room - Never fixed 5. Closet door off the rail in His room - Never fixed 6. The door lock in His room was faulty with the wrong key assigned - Eventually fixed 7. Microwave without a handle to pull it open in the kitchen - Eventually fixed 8. Dryer which was missing a vent hose - Eventually fixed 9. Faulty washer - Eventually replaced 10. Tattered and ripped couch in the living room - Eventually replaced. And a host of other complaints in his roommate's rooms. Upon his graduation, The Ridge Apartment attempted to charge $95 for damages present at the time of moving in that were never fixed, and it is fraudulent to try to charge someone who was already a victim of poor service from your facility. I was responsible for paying the rent while he lived there, and I am requesting a full refund of the security deposit of $200 paid to The Ridge. I have made multiple attempts to contact the Ridge by phone, email, and I initially got a response but the trail died. I need my MONEY BACK IN FULL, and I will not stop requesting my refund due to me. I knew that my son and his roommates were being ripped off and deserved an adjustment to the rent paid in 2021 because they basically lived in a dilapidated unit without any amenities that a human paying rent should get for the greater part of their first year as residents. Finally, to be victimized twice is very inhumane and unacceptable. I am demanding that the Ridge return my security deposit of $200 in full. I struggled to give any star for this rating!

My husband and I lived here for three years and absolutely loved our time here. It's in an amazing…read morelocation that's extremely walkable. We walked to the square, restaurants, bars, etc, and got to enjoy the park that's right across the street. Any issues we ever had were resolved by Cody as quickly as possible. Most apartments are difficult to live in since the office staff doesn't care to know who you are. Cody knew both of us by name and always made us feel so welcome at this complex. To top it off, it's extremely affordable for the prime location it's in. By far the best apartment I've lived in and would definitely recommend any of my friends to live here!

Nothing's perfect, but as far as apartment rental this is about as good as it gets…read more Paying 650 rent for 650sf. Pro: -One text message to Cody and it's fixed the next day. Had issues with leaky faucet and stove burners going out on separate occasions. -Apartments and the grounds are clean. Red brick construction contributes to a upscale feel. -Application process was smooth. One call, a few text messages then sign a lease. This was a time where all the other complexes waffled with maybes and made our move more difficult even though we had enough money to pay the entire lease up front. This place took the opportunity to deal with us as people looking for a place to live and not some stack of employment and bank account verifications. -Small Washer/Dryer in unit. I despise going out for laundry day, and this amenity is worth 50/month to me at least. -External storage spaces on site help get the best use out of the 650sf apartment. -1.5 bathrooms in 650sf is a ridiculous amount, but it adds to a decadent feel. Con: -There is a train and it crosses the tracks at Frame St so it makes all the usual train sounds and no time of night is immune. -The triangle of space between Bell and Mingo is a bit slim on access. Between the speed trap near TWU on Bell and not a single pedestrian crosswalk to get to downtown Denton it adds a bit of oomph to not get out. If they plowed over those apartments one block west and put Bellmere there it would be perfect. Notes: -There is no longer an on-site manager (not sure if the website reflects this yet). But seriously, five stars. Every other place I've been has some surprise glaring flaw such as flooding, people breaking into your stuff, shootings, being condemned, etc. This one manages to be just an apartment that works as advertised. If they could make the train go away and shut down Bell street so all the traffic goes along Mingo it would get the proverbial sixth star.

Then from January to about May it was fine then they came back. I'll let y'all know I am deadly afraid of cockroaches. I did not feel safe in my apartment the whole time I was there because I was afraid they would come back, and of course they did. If you move into building two ,good luck. They need to fog the whole build, but I doubt they will ever do it. By the way my roommates and I are very clean. We did not leave a spec of food on the counter in the kitchen and after we ate we immediately hand washed our dishes. There was also a robot vacuum that cleaned every night. Furthermore, all our food was in sealed containers. The roaches got in if they were not sealed. If you move into this apartment I recommend closing all your drains after use. It helped keep the roaches out of my room. Other then the roaches the apartment was fine. It is definitely a dirty apartment. Like there is weird black spots everywhere. I think they painted over the grim too. But it is close to campus. Like a 13 minutes bike ride and has the bus. I would not live here again but there is worse apartments. Maintenance was quick. Our ac/heater broke every time we changed it from cold to hot. That was annoying. The in unit washer and dryers were helpful. Overall not worth the price. With rent and utilities it was almost a 1000 every month with my two roommates.

Don't bother asking people in the office for help, because they lie to your face about doing something about your problems and then do absolutely nothing. I was charged "heavy" cleaning fees for a bedroom/bathroom that I left spotless. These people are scumbags who need to be investigated for the kind of business that is run here. The actual apartments are fallings apart constantly. My A/C was out for 2 weeks straight during a summer there, and my internet was out for days/weeks at a time throughout my lease. Mason Brown is completely incompetent as an Accounts Manager. All of the staff in the office are slimy humans and it is obvious why they work for an apartment complex.

My daughter has been there one year and has recently resigned her lease for her junior year at UNT!…read moreAs a parent I like this complex because it's in such close proximity to UNT! There are a ton of restaurants and stores (UNT store and CVS) in walking distance which is nice because my kiddo didn't take her car up there! The complex sends out messages and reminders about rent and utilities being due which is nice! At first we thought the students working in the leasing office would be an issue if something actually happened but in fact whenever my daughter has has an issue they have been super nice and able to steer her in the right direction to get it resolved quickly! When resigning the lease her rent actually went down not up which was a very nice surprise! They also made transitioning her roommates so they could all be together super easy too! No place is perfect but for our student and family it has been great!

DO NOT LIVE AT THIS APARTMENT COMPLEX…read more I have lived here for three years, and the issues have been constant. The biggest concern has been mold. I had mold in both my first and second units, and it made me very sick. Management repeatedly dismissed it as "dirt" or "dust" instead of properly addressing the problem. I've also had my AC break multiple times, leaving me without air conditioning for days during the Texas heat. There is also a persistent roach problem they come out of the drains in the bathtub and sinks no matter how clean you keep your apartment. The hallways constantly smell, residents let their dogs pee in the hallways and elevators, and the trash chute rooms are filthy and rarely seem to be cleaned. On top of that, the gates are constantly broken, making it easy for anyone to enter the property. After three years, I can confidently say these are not one time issues they are ongoing problems that management has failed to properly address. Save yourself the stress and look elsewhere.
