I was a Co-signer on the lease for my son, for Unit #722B for August 2021- July 2023. I have not received the refund for the security deposit paid in 2021 for $200, because the ridge wants to keep a portion of it fraudulently. As the parent paying rent for my son to live in this apartment complex, I was appalled at the non-habitable condition of apartment unit #722B where he was living with his roommates and childhood friends whom I know very well. The state of this unit was so run down, neglected, and in total disrepair, and worse still, it took over 8 months for anyone to come in and initiate any repairs to the unit. On move-in day, I found myself pinning a bedsheet to my son's window to give him some privacy, as the blinds were broken. He placed a work order for this and several other issues, and it was never repaired to date. It is also interesting that all the pending tasks that were entered into his Resident Portal that were never fulfilled vanished at the time of his graduation. I did not live with my son in this apartment unit; however, it was quite annoying to visit these boys and to see how they basically had to make do with bad, inadequate, and malfunctioning amenities. Here is my list of all the broken things in Unit #722 as of August 2021, when my son and his roommates moved into unit #722B. 1. Damaged blinds in His room - Never fixed 2. Damaged fan bulb and wobbly fan in His room - eventually fixed 3. Lifted Carpet corner near desk in His room - Never fixed 4. Closet shelf support absent in His room - Never fixed 5. Closet door off the rail in His room - Never fixed 6. The door lock in His room was faulty with the wrong key assigned - Eventually fixed 7. Microwave without a handle to pull it open in the kitchen - Eventually fixed 8. Dryer which was missing a vent hose - Eventually fixed 9. Faulty washer - Eventually replaced 10. Tattered and ripped couch in the living room - Eventually replaced. And a host of other complaints in his roommate's rooms. Upon his graduation, The Ridge Apartment attempted to charge $95 for damages present at the time of moving in that were never fixed, and it is fraudulent to try to charge someone who was already a victim of poor service from your facility. I was responsible for paying the rent while he lived there, and I am requesting a full refund of the security deposit of $200 paid to The Ridge. I have made multiple attempts to contact the Ridge by phone, email, and I initially got a response but the trail died. I need my MONEY BACK IN FULL, and I will not stop requesting my refund due to me. I knew that my son and his roommates were being ripped off and deserved an adjustment to the rent paid in 2021 because they basically lived in a dilapidated unit without any amenities that a human paying rent should get for the greater part of their first year as residents. Finally, to be victimized twice is very inhumane and unacceptable. I am demanding that the Ridge return my security deposit of $200 in full. I struggled to give any star for this rating! read more

don't rent here. my tub has been running with water with no way to turn it off and i have called, sent emails, and submitted a maintenance request multiple. something is always broken in here and they never take the concerns of residents seriously. i asked to speak to a manager and the front desk lied and said that he was in meeting when i just seen him in the parking lot read more

Just moved in and it was busy. They were doing their best to get everyone in and helpful. Apartment was clean. Other room mate said Ice maker wasn't working, but it was an easy fix. I Leased a 4 bedroom apartment and two of the rooms (due to Covid) was 750$ total due to Covid. This apartment was gross and literally infested with roaches but it was spacious and and cheap and furnished so I made myself at home. Now that Covid is over they're trying to not only give me three roommates but increase the amount out one of my rooms and make me pay 2500$ to keep both and get two roommates. This apartment is NOT worth that much! The washer and dryer always broke, the Internet goes out often, and there's dog poop everywhere. The bathrooms are terrible and the furniture it's so ugly and falls apart. Management is terrible and they are price gouging to make up for lost profits during Covid read more

I mean this in the most serious way. DO. NOT. LIVE. HERE. I wish I could give it ZERO stars because that's how it felt living here. Every single thing you can think of that can go wrong in your apartment went wrong for me. The very first day I moved here there was an obvious cockroach infestation and despite multiple requests sent by my roommates and I to management to fix it, they never responded. So basically at this point, the apartment belongs to the cockroaches and I was the guest there at that point. I can't help but think of the massive clump of roaches that live in the walls...just makes my skin crawl. AND TRUST ME we tried to get rid of them multiple times in a variety of ways but nonetheless there was no result. I think it's clear that management absolutely SUCKS! They never answer your call or emails and when you go to the office in person they insist that you email them even though they will never answer. They will charge you for fees that you are not responsible for and when you ask for it back they say only the manager can take care of it and when you ask to speak to the manager they said "the manager is in a meeting" which btw if you haven't caught on, it's code for "the management doesn't give a single $h!t about you". My A/C broke the very first week I moved in which was in July. Texas in July. It was over 90 degrees in my apartment and maintenance took several days to come fix it. When they eventually fixed it, it broke an additional two times. During the winter, my heater broke and right before it did it smelled so badly of something burning. I know heaters can do this sometimes but oh my goodness. The smell that was coming from those vents due to the massive build up of dust was excruciating. And I bet you guessed it! It took them several days to fix it which means I was freezing in my apartment. IT WAS FIFTY DEGREES OR LOWER FOR SEVERAL DAYS. The gates do not work and the pool is dirty for most of the summer months in the beginning of the lease. Although smoking is not allowed, it constantly smells like a mixture of cigarettes and sewage water outside the apartments. I guarantee that you will move in with the most dirty carpets and walls you've ever see . The apartments do not come as they are described in the lease. I was supposed to have wood floors by the second week of living here but of course it never happened. In addition to floor problems, the flooring is totally crooked and it feels as if it can break at any given moment if you step hard enough. Also if that doesn't bother you enough, there's carpet floor in the sink area of the bathroom. That means every single time you get out the shower your feet are immediately faced with the carpet which probably hasn't been cleaned since the 2000s. Just to add on to the flooring issues, there's a news article that discusses how the roof of one of the units here collapsed. Anyways, do not be fooled by the low prices because it will definitely not be worth it. They also had the audacity to raise prices for this rotten hole they call an "apartment" so good luck if you live here, I sincerely wish you the best. read more

Not only is new management unprofessional but they are also clueless in handling communication with residents. My boyfriend had ordered an Amazon package for me and it was sent to the leasing office, I had to let them know through the automated messages that it would be under his name but would also have my apartment number on it so if they could either hold it or just leave it up at my apartment door it would be fine (this all happened while I was out of town). I had to let them know this way because there is no other way to communicate with them (when u Call the leasing office it sends you to an automated message system and says a leasing office employee will get back to you but they never do). Anyway when i got back to Denton my boyfriend went to the leasing office and they let him know they had sent it back to Amazon?? I literally let them know beforehand what to do and they did not respond to me but instead sent a promo message about having taquito Tuesday at the office. Like I do not want your freeze burn taquitos I want my package!!! I understand mailing laws but I tried my best to communicate with them and it did not work. Also not to mention the apartment came with dirty and broken kitchen appliances (dirty microwave, broken sink, broken dishwasher that's literally about to fall out the counter it's attached to somehow?? Broken cabinets). I'm just saying if I do not get my deposit back because of things that were already broken prior to my move in they will be hearing from my attorney read more

It's a great value for student housing. There are defects with the apartment though. Maintenance is not quick. Better than living a dorm though and cheaper. It's just 7 minutes from UNT. read more

Not only are the apartments horrible but I went to the new management about me and my dog being attacked by an unregistered pit bull and an unregistered german Shepard who were both off there leases. I had cuts and bruises all over me my dog was injured and my clothes were ruined. I went to the office the day after the attack since they were closed. When I spoke with the new General manager I was not mad or angry. I also didn't want to press charges against the owner of the dogs or have them fined. All I asked was that if they saw her with the dogs off a leash if they could just speak with her and remind her of the leash policy. Instead the manager not only blamed me for not calling the police. But she also told me that i "made things really hard for them now". I didn't think I was asking for much I didn't want to make a scene or anything on their 2nd day at the complex, but I never thought I'd be blamed for being a victim of a dog attack. She made it very obvious that she did not care whatsoever she had a horrible attitude and was unbelievably unprofessional. I am so glad to be out of there I've never seen a manager that cares about their residents so little. Thank you "castle whatever the heck" for not helping me out what so ever. read more

I don't have a single positive thought about this place. they have done nothing but make my life a living hell. every single month there are incorrect charges on my ledger that they are trying to sneak past me. they give these poor employees zero training and have them compose bills for broke college students, and they never check them. before I had billing issues with them I had flooding issues in my apartment. before the flooding issues I had issues with cars following me in the parking lot in the dark and there are zero lights in the parking lot. after the office told me that there is nothing they would ever do to help me in the situation I felt sad and scared going home only for my apartment to be broken into a couple months later. despite that I decided to renew my lease because a new company was managing the property. unfortunately their community manager is even worse than all of the other managers combined. she doesn't listen to what I have to say she talked over me on the phone while I was trying to explain my incorrect bill and leaking faucets. they also lied to me and told me that I wouldn't be paying for water after I told them that two of my sinks are leaking. but that simply isn't correct when you pay for utilities you pay for water as well. that Hass to be the only explanation as to why my utility bill has tripled. no joke tripled. in the last couple years. this place was a shit hole when I moved in but it's truly gone down the sewer at this point. please save yourself the trouble the hassle and the robbery and do not live here. it's not safe it's disgusting and all of the appliances are old and shitty. they claim to have a hardwood floors but my entire apartment has carpet. they claim to be fixing things and starting construction but my toilet has been broken for four months. A broken toilet for four months. how is this acceptable? do better. and get a new community manager because yours is useless. read more
