I've gone to this nail salon twice. First time I saw Kim who is new there and I saw Andy who was new there. The second time I went they were both absolutely wonderful. I love my nail design. I would select "0" stars if possible. Not only did the person cut me so badly with the cuticle cutter that I bled on the first foot, but she then grabbed my toe on the second foot after I asked her to use the buffing machine. I had already told her to use that and a regular nail file for that toe instead of the cuticle cutter. At that point, I asked for a manager and told her that I did not want her working on me any longer. She had the worst attitude from the time that I arrived at 2:26PM for my 2:30PM appointment. Everything was a hassle for her. Unfortunately, there was not a manager there. One of her colleagues (pictured here) defended her by saying that my feet must be sensitive, which is why the toenail was bleeding. That was highly unprofessional, and I told her that she was putting the blame on me. They then refused to have someone else service me, and I told her that I was going to report her. She then retorted that she was going to report me, too, and then started recording me with her phone -- childish, unprofessional behavior. My nail is still bleeding. I'm reporting them to the Better Business Bureau as well and I'll be suing for monetary damages. read more

I do not normally post reviews on Yelp but I could not hold back because I wanted to warn others before they spent their money at this salon. I got a manicure June 8th before heading to a large event in NYC today, June 9th. In less than 24 hours my nails were completely chipping, dented and smudged. While the staff were kind and welcoming, I paid to have my nails last more than one day. To be clear, I did not intensive work with my hands between then and this morning. Simply showered and had dinner. The pictures attached are evidence of how poorly the manicure was done and lasted. Overall I was quite excited to try getting my nails done at this salon, but am so disappointed! read more

Everything was great 10 out of 10 . I start going now for 2 years and always walk out Satisfied.

My experience was awful. And I can't help but think it was partly because I was a man coming in asking for a gel manicure that I was assigned a clearly junior tech. All I wanted was a simple removal and replacement of my current one. I needed a week old gel manicure removed, which she only used a grinding tool to remove. Then as she applied my new polish, she used a paper towel to clean up the overspill and edges, which led to an uneven and lumpy finish. She tried to fix it by shaving down my nails again and reapplying a topcoat which only looked worse. I asked for all of it to be removed so I could just leave, and she again used the electric grinder instead of any removing agent and again shaved my nails paper thin. Several other employees took a look at my nails, but no offer was made to switch out my tech even after it was clear that things had gone south. My nails are still partly coated in gel residue--I guess I'll be fixing them myself or heading back to one of my regular places like Mimosa or Cosmo. Extremely disappointed and will not be returning. read more

I realize now short acrylic nails is harder to do cause rarely do techs get it right the first time I see them or never at all. The male tech who works closest to the door is a true skilled professional. He fixed work done by another shop in CoHi. After he was done they felt lighter, looked more natural and overall quality sculpting. 10/10 read more

I live in VA and yes, I make the trip to DC to get my nails done because it's THAT good... and cheap! There's no parking lot or street parking ever... but then again, it's DC, should you expect parking? Just metro to Columbia Heights and get your daily exercise by walking for 8 minutes. Besides, you'll be sitting down while you get your mani and/or pedi done. My girl is Jackelin... she's the bombdiggity.com!! She's either the only Hispanic or one of two Hispanics that work there. Speaks little English but knows the basics and knows what she is doing! She is amazing! I'm gonna put my business out there and be a little "TMI"... I have an ingrown toenail and she is the only one that knows how to dig that thing out! I say "only one" because I've tried getting a pedi done with two other people here and they don't care or take the time with you the way she does. She welcomes women and men, but call in advance because she has a very high clientele. Like I said before, she takes her time so don't come here rushing her. You want a job well done? Then let her do her job. She polishes nails so perfectly. Doesn't miss a spot, leave streaks, or go outside of your nails. I believe she is a perfectionist and for a perfectionist like myself, she is who I need in my life. I already told her that if she ever leaves this place, I am following her! I make the trip from VA already anyway. I always get a pedi and gel mani for $45. Beat that! That price for a Columbia Heights salon is OUT OF THIS WORLD. Another salon by Columbia Heights metro charges about $40 for just the gel mani... ain't nobody got money for that! Especially when there's Revo Nails just a few blocks up where you can get two services for that price! DON'T LET THE MEN DO YOUR MANICURES!!! Now that that's out of the way... I really like this salon. I've been three times so I'm pretty sure I'm about to write an honest review. I've loved my pedicures every time I've come here. But both times I got a full set with polish it appeared as if I had done them at home. All of the women do a great, attentive job when it comes to the manicures and pedicures. But the man that does manicures is not very caring or attentive. I have had to tweak my nails both times. Soooo... If you come, make sure one of the ladies do your manicures. PS. Jaclyn is a beast at eyebrows. She works magic! UPDATE! I gave Revo a second chance. I was in the neighborhood on a Wednesday and had to get my gel acrylics refilled before going on vacation.... While my visit was good (Henry is so kind), I did not receive a qualify gel job... I had bubbling and, less than week later, my polish is already starting to chip and I have slight bubbling. Words cannot describe what this diamond in the rough nail salon has become to me. I live fairly far away from this location but commute up to it because I think they do such a good job which is hard to find in this city! A friend suggested I start coming here because of the prices. I almost don't want to share my positive feedback because I want this place to stay my hidden gem! The gel manicures here are the best I have gotten in DC by far. And the prices are exactly on point. I used to live in California where the nail game is strong and the prices are half of what they normally are in DC. Well Revo nails, you've won my heart. They even put sunscreen on your hands to protect from the UV light, this is something I never see on the east coast. The color selection of regular polish weirds me out sometimes. I often bring my own because they have brands I have never seen - something about pedicures has to be OPI for me, or now I can branch to esse if I am feeling bold. They do a discount on Wednesday nights too if your around. I work too far away to make that happen so Saturday mornings it is! The technicians inside are delightful. Last time I was there some awful infomercial played the whole time, luckily I had a friend to chat with instead! Don't let the outside sketch you out - this place is gold. read more

I've lived in this area for ten years and after trying many salons, this is my go to! I make an effort to go here when I'm not in a rush as sometimes it's not the quickest service. But it is well worth the wait! (Obviously depends on the day!) Also I don't mind soaking my feet and enjoying the massage chairs while waiting :) but again, I plan for it! My fav was requesting to watch March madness and enjoying a pedi while watching the first half of elite 8 play! The employees work hard and I've never left unsatisfied by their work. It's much better than V Nails and Spa that I tried in the past - cleaner, faster and less crowded. I came to this salon on Wednesday evening and it was empty. Anna did my pedicure, manicure and eyebrow waxing. She did a really good job with the pedicure - after my vacation, my feet were very calloused from all the walking and she took care of that. The eyebrow waxing was pretty good, although she is not very gentle. Employees speak almost no English, so I don't think I will be calling next time to make an appointment even though they encouraged me to do so. They have a happy hour from 4 to 8 where they give you a free glass of cheap, sweet red wine. I paid $43 for mani-pedi and waxing, and it was definitely worth the price. I've tried all nail salons at Columbia Heights at this point and I think I'll stick with this spot. read more

I just had the worst experience I have ever had at a nail salon. I came in for mani pedi, the first of the season. The nail tech runes through the pedicure, and was far more concerned with who was walking in and out than tending to me. She barely scrubbed my heels, rushed me to my manicure when she then proceeded to rough handle me, even though I stopped her several times and asked her to be gentle. She sat me at a drying station, where I have been sitting for the last half hour, ready to go, however, no one but she apparently, can check me out. I told her I was ready to leave, and she told me five more minutes...that was 10 minutes ago. I also showed her my heels, very rough and un-scrubbed, to which her response was she would just add oil. Not worth the money, not with anything. I have half a mind to walk out. I will be sure to never frequent this place, and if you want a real pedi, walk two blocks away from here. read more

Pleasant location BUT still has the same amazing prices! $45 for a quality gel mani/regular pedi = $15 less than the next cheapest place (like I said...AMAZING!) My first experience with Revo Nails was the weekend of mother's day. IT WAS CHAOS! even though i wasn't getting my nails done they seemed to not care that my friends and i were there checking up on another friend getting her nails done. And through the chaos her nails were so cool looking so i decided to come back. Came back on my day off around 1 or so and the place was empty, just the way i like it. I came in for a mani/pedi...was originally gonna go with the gel mani but decided to just get a full set instead. The lady that did my mani/pedi was nice...didnt talk much and did what i asked. It was pretty mellow but then again it was empty so i should go back on a some what crowded day to see how the service will change. All in all everything turned out great. It can depend which stylist you get, but I highly recommend Jacali and Anna for a great mani/pedi and fabulous massage. Horrible place!!! I stopped by there few weeks ago for mani/ pedi and left extremely disappointed. First of all, the lady who was working on my pedicure could not stay away from her phone. During my visit she answer the phone twice which I don't mind at all, especially if it is some kind of emergency, but apparently it wasn't the case in this situation. She just chatted on her phone for few minutes while still working on my nails....so unprofessional!! But, what really disgusted me is their instruments. As written in one of the other reviews, they take out the instruments from sealed bag. However, I would definitely recommend for clients to check the cleanliness of the instruments before allowing somebody to do the work on your nails. In my case I was very unfortunate to find in the "new and sealed" bag parts of skin and nails...... yak. After I showed this to the lady who was about to "unseal" the bag and start work on my manicure, she left to bring another bag. However, the next bag was just as disgusting as previous one. I ended up leaving the salon without the manicure and deeply regretting doing my pedicure there. I wish I paid my attention to the instruments that been used for my pedicure :((( Overall, I really hope the problem with the unclean instruments in my case was just an exception but not the rule and happened just once, but I very doubt that!!! Revo Nails: Where the technicians are rough, rude, and hazardous to your health. This is one of the cheapest nail places in town, so I've been there twice. The first time was great. The second time, while vigorously filing the prior gel off my nails, the nail technician kept filing my cuticles off as well. I yelped in pain every time she did it, but she didn't notice because she was too busy having a conversation with her friend (who stood next to her chair chatting the ENTIRE time I was getting my nails done.) When she finished and saw large, bright red drops of blood rolling off my fingers, she acted disgusted, poked my wounds with the little metal cuticle pusher, and asked "What happened THERE?" I told her, and her "apology" was a giant eyeroll and an insincere "Sorry!" She then clucked her tongue and muttered that my nails were too soft and short - maybe by way of explanation? Finally, she pulled a brush covered in cuticle oil out of a decorative jar, coated my nail beds, then put the bloody brush BACK IN THE JAR. Presumably she'll b reusing the same brush and jar for every future customer. Luckily, I don't have any bloodborne diseases, but EW!!!! This morning, 6 of my fingers have scabs around the nail beds from where she filed the skin off, and two are swollen and throbbing. Maybe the equipment wasn't clean and they're getting infected? Can't say for sure, but I guess I'm the goofus who will be walking around with bandaids and Neosporin over most of my fingers for the next week hoping to clear it up. They're under the same ownership as Revo Nails in Mt Pleasant--only this space seems larger and more pleasant than the Mt P location. Decent price. $20 for a pedicure, but $25 for a mani and pedi, so I did both. Decent but not huge color selection (they have maybe 10 Essie colors, many more colors if you use another brand). Nice open space with quiet ('80s when I went) music playing and tvs that fortunately aren't too loud. The woman pulled the instruments for my pedicure out of sealed plastic, so it seemed clean. She gave me a nice foot and calf rub and was very careful with the pedicure--my feet look great. The manicure was a bit rushed since I arrived just an hour before closing and wanted to do both mani and pedi--the manicurist cut my nails in a weird straight shape at first but fixed it once I told her what to do. Also, the base coat wasn't sticking at first but the manicurist realized that before I had to point it out and started over. They ladies here seem very sweet. They were all laughing, smiling and joking around most of the time. I have no idea what they were saying to each other, but they were super friendly. read more

Been a long-time resident of Columbia Heights (10+ years) and I have tried every nearby nail salon that came (and went). Sadly, I was never satisfied and kept making the pilgrimage to other 'hoods. Then came Revo. I went yesterday and, aside from the normal chaos that seems to define this neighborhood and its inhabitants (and I mean that in the best sense), it was a very solid experience and I will go back. Friday afternoon price for mani/pedi was $30 (they run specials for slow times, so you can get both for as little as $25 as the previous reviewer suggests) and my toes look good. I go as often as once every two weeks in the summer, so I will say I told my technician to do it right to help make Revo my new regular spot. The environment was clean, relatively relaxing and spacious. I brought my own color, as the assortment of OPI and Essi colors seemed a tad low for my taste. Regardless, the location is great and they do kids polish for $5 each-- meaning I can bring my big girl with me next time and get her hands and feet done for $10 total. The language barrier here consistently annoys and pisses me off, especially when they put employees on the phone and at the front desk who can't carry on a full English conversation, hell a half decent conversation, with customers. Really, is this how we do business? It's a pain. Smdh. Besides that, Michelle is pretty awesome-- friendly, skilled and fairly priced. First of all this people charged me different price for the same service that I had it last time and that actually happened 2 times but the 1st I decided to don't say anything. Then it was a latino woman who did my nails, she was so rough till she ways using the nail file and I told her in a few times to be careful but she was telling me my skin is very sensitive and keep talking on her earphones on FaceTime with someone. She hurt almost all of my fingers and then they was bleeding and which can be even dangerous to get even sick, because who know on haw many people the used the same file.
