When I decided to pull the trigger and order a ShowHauler RV from them, I had a question about a particular chassis and inquired as to how to order what I desired. That is when things went downhill, not sure if it was because I did not wear designer clothes or did not have a Rolex watch when I visited but was basically told to quit wasting our time and if you wanted to go any further give us a $50,000 dollar deposit and then you will get answers. I would understand if I had repeatedly bothered this dealership. I had 1 in person meeting for about 3 hours and 2 email correspondences. And the last phone call. I apologize for bothering you with questions. I guess I did not fit their desired profile, asked too many questions on a roughly $700,000.00 RV. Read other reviews and they were positive so was happy to invest some of my time, maybe it was just not to be with this dealer. Maybe my expectations were just too much. I was in the market for a newer car, since my current car was about 10 years old, and I felt I deserved an upgrade. I searched around and found a few SUV's that I liked and went on the main Gene Messer website, which paired me with a salesman at their toyota location and we got in touch via email and text. I looked over their inventory and did not see anything I liked but saw one at one of their Sister Dealerships and the salesman told me "If there is a car/truck we have that you want, I can get it." I believed him. So I asked him to try to get that vehicle and I would come in for a test drive. Since this convo happened late Saturday, he said he would call the Sister dealership on Monday morning and have them bring the truck over. Monday comes.....he says he is working on it, but tells me to just come on out anyways and it should be handled by the time I get there. I figured it could not hurt, since I was already in that area, so I go. He sits with me for a few minutes, we make small talk and he keeps trying to show me other vehicles. I turn those down. He proceeds to tell me everything that is bad about my trade in and then gives me a low ball offer. I was not even concerned about my trade in because I had a large down payment. But then tells me the truck I wanted already sold. OK. So I get my keys and leave. I head to another dealership, where they not only give me 2500 more on my trade in, but also found another of the truck wanted with no issue. That salesman did his job and called around until he found it for me. Insanely enough, the original truck I wanted DID NOT ACTUALLY SELL. I had a friend call the dealership where it was and they said they still had it, and asked if my friend wanted to come in for a test drive that day. Nice, so my original salesman lied to my face, clearly did not want to work that day, and basically lost about $80,000+ in sales. How is that you ask? Well, I was seeing how my personal transaction would go, and if I came out happy, I would buy a fleet of about 4 or 5 trucks and a van for my company. Nice one Gene Messer Toyota. So, looks like they failed this test, and lost a potential repeat customer.

My boyfriend originally took my car into M&M to get checked due to the engine jumping, as I work full-time (8-6) and couldn't go myself. The initial quote was around $630 for an O2 sensor and an air filter--seemed reasonable at first. Then we were suddenly told by Mitch that my car needed cylinder head work totaling $6,000. Naturally, we wanted a second opinion. Not only did they refuse to provide the diagnostic codes when asked, but I later scanned the car myself (I have photo evidence of the actual codes)--and none of them supported the diagnosis or the $6,000 repair Mitch claimed was needed. This felt dishonest and ‼extremely predatory‼ After waiting nearly two weeks, I picked up my car only to find: 1. An oil separator was installed without my approval 2. The A/C had completely stopped working--a system that worked perfectly when I dropped the car off When I called Mitch, he said to bring it back and he'd refund me and look at the A/C. From the second I walked in, he was rude and condescending--questioning me and speaking down to me for not "handling this myself," completely ignoring that I'm a full-time student with a full-time job. The only time he showed any decency was when I became visibly upset--and a customer walked in. He then refused to take responsibility for the A/C issue, saying "we didn't touch that," and tried to blame it on me supposedly hitting a pothole--again, suspicious timing. (I have video of this exact conversation.) Why would I have him work on my car again after spending $899, getting a partial refund, and coming back with more issues than when I dropped it off? Bottom line: I have the codes. I have the video. I have the receipts. Mitch was wrong and the entire experience was unprofessional and stressful. I strongly urge anyone reading this to take your car elsewhere and get a second opinion. You deserve honesty, transparency, and respect--not to be talked down to and overcharged.

They were unable to find the issue, but often had other repairs (other than the ones we went in for) to do. In the end, I had to replace my entire engine, cadilidic converters, and all the hoses associated because they did not do basic engine care (secure the air filter cap, thus my engine sucked up dirt for two years). When confronted with the issue, they denied any responsiblity and were not helpful. They are incompentent at best and most likely negligent from our experiences.
