Rooftop lounge bar I'm all about. The moment you step off the elevator and make that turn, you know you're in for a treat. Those at the very top #SkylineViews are some of the best in Los Angeles, especially at night when this social spot really lights up. I came up with a new friend to enjoy some conversation and libations during an event weekend. I didn't know what to expect, but was beyond impressed with all this different areas to relax in, including the back lounge which was super spacious and much more lit up than other parts all about the vibey dim lit aesthetic which I'm beyond all in for. Bar staff, hotel staff and security were all very cool as well as respectful. Crazy sexy cool cocktail lists, extensive wine selection, including sake. Good craft, domestic and imported brew/beer options. We did not partake in any food or rather bites/shareables - but the menu is scaled down version of the menu at the Metropole on the first floor of the Hotel Indigo where this cool club resides. Open Thursday through Saturday as early as 7pm. 18 Social (named after the top floor it sits on) serves until 11pm on Thursdays and until Midnight on Fridays and Saturdays. read more

Plush lounge on the 18th Floor of The Indigo Hotel. The décor is very moody and dark with royal blue velvet couches and a nice fire wall in the middle of the room. There is space for dancing as well and the views are very nice. These are all the positives that I found while chilling there for a birthday cocktail. The bartenders that night were more than friendly. Flirtatious, funny and clearly loving their jobs, they kept the vibe up and gave us suggestions for other bars to visit that have food trucks near by. But the con is 18 Socials drinks are soooo over priced. This was only my second day in LA but I'd already been to so many other places that I can say this with confidence. I had the chance to visit this amazing place through an invite of a friend. I've never been before so I didn't know what to expect. Found out that it is located at the 18th floor of Hotel Indigo, hence the name. When I came in, I was so amazed of the floor to ceiling glass walls which gives you the breathtaking views of downtown Los Angeles. The lounge has a lot of comfortable seating. Lots of couches to sit on. Some are even placed by the beautiful fireplace while watching a live band performance. There's also a full bar offering a wide selection of locally brewed drafts, as well as some of California's finest wines. We also had some delicious bites such as sliders, quesadillas, etc. Would you believe they are only $5 during happy hour? Definitely a great place to celebrate birthdays or any special occasions. We attended double birthday parties at 18 Social recently and had a good time. The views of DTLA are really nice from this top floor of Hotel Indigo. There are areas that you can reserve for your party but those arrangements have to be made ahead of time. It was a Saturday night and there was a live band who I figured were wrapping up their set before the DJ came on. In fact the DJ started playing some good music but the band came back on for the duration of our time there. I would have preferred along with the 80+ people in our party that the DJ play music half the night so that people could dance but it wasnt to be this time. It was too bad. The venue is nice and there are comfortable areas to sit in the reserved sections of the lounge. You overlook Hotel Figueroa, LA Live and Staples Center in the distance. It's a beautiful view. Valet parking wasnt taking any more cars and we got there at 9pm so that was another hassle. Had to park in the structure across the street which charged a $10 flat rate until 2am. Located inside Hotel Indigo along Francisco St... Take the elevators to the 18th floor. Drinks were a decent price. Waiters and bartenders had a hard time keeping up with the packed house that night but it was still a good time. Russell Rufino was our contact for setting up this party so make sure you ask for him. I really like it here. I stopped by on a random Wednesday night to chill with a few colleagues. I arrived at 7 and there was a live duo performing a soft rendition of When Doves Cry. It was epic. Ambience: super relaxed, low lights, nice seating, full and sexy bar! Parking: Apparently, there is parking that is attached to the hotel. I ubered. Service: Everyone here makes you feel spectacular and extra special. I have not been able to sit thirsty for even a second. Food: I've been munching on the wings which are perfectly fried and spiced. I eat them through personal protest as I just vowed not to eat anything that did not die on its own terms just yesterday. The view: Breathtaking. Located 18 floors up in the Indigo Hotel, 18 Social is an intimate lounge with a live DJ, a bar and a dance floor. The lounge serves as a laid-back hangout spot for hotel guests and partygoers alike. There's no cover charge to get in -- or, at least, there wasn't one when I came by on a Saturday night (Cinco de Mayo 2018). They play music you can dance to -- some oldies, some current. There's a fireplace and a bunch of couches that offer "table service." Clean, sleek and upscale. No dress code. There's also a small bites menu with some interesting albeit pricey items. As it is quite high up, there are some nice views of DTLA to see here. You're in proximity to LA Live and the STAPLES Center, but facing the backside. Also, unfortunately, several buildings are under construction and below the skyline are a bunch of shabby parking lots. While I was here, the place got about half-full. Already, it was quite hot. I can't imagine what 18 Social is like on a good night. Lock down where the air vents are and park yourself underneath one -- air conditioning is a privilege, not a right. The cocktails are pretty good, but expensive. I love love loved their Pineapple Mule and their Of Age Shirley. If you like fruity or sweet drinks that'll hit you after a few, I recommend those. There's a water dispenser at the side of the bar, which was much appreciated. Free water in a sauna-like environment is a blessing. If I didn't specifically have a reason to come here, ultimately, I wouldn't. There's nothing immediately around Indigo Hotel, and Ubers to this area can be pricey. Not a convenient option for me, but fun for a one-time thing. read more

Happy hour 5-7: $5 buck bites Duck confit quesadilla: This was alright. The duck was nicely cooked and juicy but I think the cheese and everything on the quesadilla leveled it down. Still a good dish though. Beef Wellington sliders: Holy wow these are so good!! The patty is super juicy and works well with the mushroom sauce. Despite there being no lettuce or tomatoes these sliders were pretty well balanced. The chips were delicious, crunchy and clearly handmade. Rip n dip: Tried a little of this. The babaganoush is different here and has paprika or something spice that I've never had before in babaganoush, also the eggplant flavor isn't as strong as it should be. The truffle hummus tasted pretty normal so the truffle flavor isn't strong. The pita bread is normal. read more

I'm going to give this restaurant/ happy hour 3 stars because of the hell I went through to even make a potential reservation. In this day and age of technology there has to be a smarter way of managing this aspect. I called many times without a response and finally had a response once I was forced to email Alicia. For the inconvenience, we were offered a round of drinks and this was the "apology of inconvenience". The hotel is very modern and chic as most have been upgraded and the 18 Social is really beautiful. The penthouse ambiance was superb and its offers a sexy zen appeal in the decor and scenery.The happy hour was quite tasty offering a decent price for the drinks. I really hope they find a better way of managing this aspect of reservations because ours changed drastically because of the lack of professionalism. I spent a Friday night at 18 Social for my friend Krysta S.'s birthday last month. It was a great space for a party--we had a whole room to ourselves that opened out from the main bar area. I don't know if 18 Social is otherwise my exact favorite kind of bar, but that might just be personal preference. It's a loungey/somewhat clubby bar on the 18th floor of Hotel Indigo. There's a dance floor and some kind of souvenir photo set-up. I feel like I would've been more into it when I was younger, though it didn't seem busy enough to be a real downtown hotspot. The space was great, though, especially since we had our own party zone, complete with comfortable couches and enough room for balloons and cake and cozy socializing. The downtown views were lovely, and it was always easy to get a drink. The bartenders were friendly and prompt, and the cocktails were decent. I liked the Brown Derby, a nice balanced classic, made with Old Forrester bourbon, fresh grapefruit, and honey. The Pineapple Mule was a sweet, refreshing twist on the Moscow Mule, with Hangar One kaffir lime vodka, house ginger beer, fresh pineapple, and lime. Mann's Chinese Theater was a fun drink with a pleasant kick, a mix of Sailor Jerry spiced rum, Hangar One mandarin blossom vodka, lemon, fresh ginger syrup, and jalapeño. The Southside was light and easy, with Hendricks Gin, fresh lime, and mint. We had a great time celebrating Krysta's birthday. I'd recommend 18 Social if you're looking for a fun, upscale spot for a party, or even just a round of drinks with a pretty view. read more

Came here after our dinner and drinks at the lobby restaurant and bar, this was supposed to be a low key lounge but that wasn't the case that Friday night. There was DJ spinning that was so crowded and loud, I was wondering how those groups of party goers knew about this lounge, they obviously were not hotel guests. We ordered some drinks and settled in at the tall tables near the bar. Because this is 18th floor so the views were not bad, there was a video camera that people can dance in front of it and have your video sent to your phone directly. The crowd was mixed in younger and older age, a lot of Asians in groups though. The drinks were OK, they didn't even have bottled sparkling water which was not good considering this is a hotel bar. It was kind of fun but I wouldn't come here on purpose, I think the lobby bar was much better and more relaxing. read more

While staying at the hotel indigo we decided to explore the hotel. 18 Social was absolutely Amazing with city light views of downtown L.A. from the lounge/ bar area on the 18rh floor. You will not be disappointed if you are out on the town with the girls or out for an intimate night for two. We sat in the lounge in front of the window facing the city. Oh what a view. The atmosphere is cozy The servers and staff were friendly and attentive. The music is hip hop R&B but not obnoxious. Great service all the way around. Best of all its immaculate. read more

I came here with a group of friends last night. This is inside the Indigo Hotel on the 18th floor. Overall we had a ok experience and we didn't stay long. Here is the breakdown: Service We ordered drinks at the bar and it took a long time to get my drinks. A little sense of urgency would be great especially when there is a huge line. Decor/ ambiance- one star Nice decor with great view of dtla/ particularly to LA Live. Very pretty views. They have a DJ and it is a good place to hear music and seat down but not good for dancing. Drinks- one star The drinks were well made at least. They have a couple of cocktail options with beer and wine of course. Wow factor- Good environment,good vibe, but versus similar lounge/ bar on a high floor I would certainly wouldn't pick this place first. Amazing view of downtown LA. Great music. Good drinks. Small place. Understaffed. Not impressed. Maybe, I came on an off night but my understanding was this was their first weekend shindig. It only took me half an hour to get bored of the first place. Half was brightly lit, half was dim. Takes over an hour to get a drink, so if you make it to the bar, do yourself a favor and stock up. Bartenders were great and make yummy drinks. Service was 50/50. Some were friendly, some just looked downright miserable. You do get an amazing view while sipping your hard earned drink. The DJ that night was playing some phenomenal music but needs to work on keeping up the hype and energy. Place was not too crowded, which was a bonus. Pricing for drinks and appetizers were decent. Parking is valet, street if you're lucky. I don't condone drinking and driving so so yourself a favor and use one of the ride sharing companies. read more

This bar is super cool. My daughter and I had drinks and an appetizer here during our Mother's Day trip to LA. The view is really spectacular from the 18th floor. There is a fireplace and lots of chairs and couches to get comfortable in. They have a nice happy hour. The selection of beer, wine and cocktails is very good. They a few draft beers as well. We ordered the cheese plate. It tasted great. There really wasn't enough bagel toast bites to eat all the cheese with. There were just three thin slices of toast. Two of the cheese were really crumbly and hard. They tasted good but they were very hard to cut with your butter knife. read more

A newer location, well-situated by L.A. Live with fantastic nighttime views of the downtown and city lights. It is a cozy bar with various seating arrangements: at their smallish bar, along the view windows, in lounge seating, as well as a hightop table. The bar stools look nice, but don't appear sturdy. They need more staff, particularly if there is a private party. The one server could not be attentive as she could be otherwise. So we moved seats from the lounge, closer to the bar and ordered directly from the bartender. He was very attentive, backing up the server, keeping our drinks and orders filled. I highly recommended their steak sliders with a tasty duck reduction. Wonderful. So, three stars plus one for the view and food! read more

This bar is located on the top floor of Hotel Indigo. It has a lovely view of Los Angeles and is a great place to grab a drink and relax. We got there around 8 p.m. on a Friday night, so it was not packed. It was a comfortable place to catch up with friends and chill on the couches. The drinks are comparably priced to other bars, so nothing alarming or eyebrow-raising there. They also seem to do a lot of reservations/parties for people on the couches. We had some obnoxiously drunk (and thereby rude) people approach us several times to tell us to move furniture in time for their reservation. Pretty annoying, but the staff told us not to worry about physically moving anything. (But I wish the staff told those patrons that the staff would take care of it so that we didn't get interrupted 2-3 times in a span of 30 minutes.) So yeah... We only stayed about 30-45 minutes. Although we could've stayed longer (since that party only reserved 2 couches), we decided to leave right before that party started just so we could avoid them. I can't blame the venue for their patrons tho. Our server was really nice though, so kudos to him! read more

This beautiful lounge is located on the 18th floor of Hotel Indigo. You take the elevators up and immediately walk through the entrance. I actually love the concept of this restaurant/lounge but feel that they may need to improve on several things. Came here late Saturday night and had our IDs checked quickly. We were able to walk around and explore without constantly bumping into people. I came wearing jeans and a camisole because we had no intention of going to a bar that night, and I definitely felt underdressed compared to others in the room. I don't believe that there is a strict enforced dress code, however I recommend to dress to impress. There's a small dance floor in the middle of the room and a DJ who was playing great music. I can't comment on the quality or taste of the food that they serve here because we did not eat during our visit. There is a main bar on one side of the lounge and a smaller pop-up bar on the other corner. The smaller bar had one bartender who moved very slowly and did a poor job at helping the customers. The drinks from the main bar came out quickly, tasted delicious and strong, and were reasonably priced. The view of DTLA from the inside of the lounge is beautiful! Since there are no opened windows or doors, they definitely should have cranked up the air conditioning as it was quite stuffy and hot. I had a great time with my friends, but I'm not sure if we will be coming back anytime soon. read more

What a great view in this penthouse lounge! My companion and I celebrated a hard day's work at the BET awards with an assortment of appetizers and their cocktail, "the old reliable," a take on an old fashioned. The three dishes we got were toothsome, but the popcorn shrimp were a knockout- they had a great kick! Maria Hidalgo and Jared Adams took amazing care of us at the bar with their food recommendations and drinks, (when we ordered tequila shots, they played the "tequila song!")and David Perez hooked us up with dessert and port from the hat festooned bar downstairs A+!! The cherry dream and chocolate lava cake fantasy will remain on my mind for quite a while! What a great finish to this job and great start to this week. Nice to have a bar in a hotel with some ambiance. 18 Social is on the 18th floor of the Indigo Hotel. We were staying in the hotel and thought we'd check it out. For a Saturday night it wasn't too crowded and there was a DJ. The music was simply too loud for the space. The ambiance and decor is more upscale cocktail space and the skull pounding music didn't seem to be quite the right fit for the space. The views are spectacular and the seating inviting. The cocktail menu is inspiring with several interesting twists on the classics. read more
