Always a good time here, although it can get insanely busy and the drinks can take a while. I totally understand wanting to use jiggers to keep everything consistent, but when there are 20 people at the bar, it starts to slow things down a lot. At that point, they might be better off speed pouring or even prebatching some of the liqueurs for their more popular cocktails because some drinks seem like they require 5 different pours just to make one. That said, I still really like the vibe here. It tends to draw more of a millennial crowd, which is more my scene, and the overall atmosphere always makes it a fun spot to come back to.

Obsessed with everything about this bar!! We went to dinner in Little Tokyo with friends, and I happen to see this across the street. We came in for a quick drink and the aesthetic was on point. It was a dimly lit bar, with all kinds of cocktails. Even though they specialize in Japanese whiskey, there were plenty of other cocktail options or even beer. I had the Moonlight in Kyoto, which was a single cube cocktail with rum and lychee. As the night went on, it did look like they schedule a DJ which I would love to come back for!

First time in this place, I really like it. Highly recommended. Me and colleagues we decided to have a drink here. We order 2 whiskey, sours and a margarita with the tequila Fortaleza, They were really delicious, that we decided to order three rounds the same. Refreshing drinks for a Friday night. Parking is not easy but if you really wanna hang out and have a delicious drink, go ahead and find parking a little far away. I wish they have some food though. I was little kind of hungry.

It's nice to know that there is a cocktail/whisky bar that's around Little Tokyo area. Do know that parking here can be pretty challenging especially on rush hour or weekends. I came here once on a weekend afternoon (which was super packed and crazy) vs. a weekday late afternoon (when they opened which is even more chill). The inside is pretty cool with lots of Japanese whiskies and a good amount of sitting area at the bar, table, and patio. They do change their drinks seasonally so it's usually pretty different but they do keep some of their best drinks on the list still. They also have happy hours but I didn't get any of them since I wanted to try their speciality cocktails, which wasn't on the happy hour. The drinks were pretty good and the vibe is good here so you'll definitely enjoy this place if you want some good cocktails!

Cute spot. Hadn't been in years and it was nice to come in the afternoon when it wasn't packed vs during a weekend night. I tried to look up the name of the cocktail I had but it wasn't on their website. I had a goya (bitter melon) cocktail here the other day that was SO good. Everything about it was balanced and delicious. Literally the best cocktail I've probably had in years. If you like cocktails with refreshing, earthy flavors that aren't super sweet - get it! The raspberry/tequila/sesame drink was pretty good too. Probs to the mixologists here!

We came on a Thursday for Happy Hour. It's a really cool bar, especially their happy hour prices. They have good bartenders and plenty of seating. I really enjoyed their Wolf and Crane special and whiskey sour. One of the few spots where they actually use an egg white. That sold it for me! We didn't try any of their food, only drinks. Would come back and recommend checking out if in the Little Tokyo area.

Very cute bar in DTLA!! Came here for a goodbye HH and with it being Halloween season, the decor was so cute!! The NA ginger orange drink was so good!!!

Nice quaint and low-dimmed bar with smooth Japanese whiskies. A little pricier than your typical bar but worth it for the quality drinks. Bartender's service is also very attentive and has good energy.

On a Friday night, we were surprised how many tables were still open for us to sit and hang. The music was definitely more chill, but perfect for the atmosphere. Super cute for photo ops! Honestly, my friends and I used this place to pregame because of the uniquely curated drinks. Highly recommend checking out before bar hopping to another area around! ** After checking our receipt to split, we realized 2 weeks later we were charged for 2 margaritas and 1 highball instead of just one and one... just remember to double check in a busy environment! **

Wolf & Crane has such a cool, laid-back atmosphere. The DJ also played a great, vibey set. I got the Sugoi cocktail, it's originally a non-alcoholic drink but the bartender was more than happy to add vodka in it. Overall, it's a fun spot to hang out with friends and enjoy well-crafted drinks. Drinks are priced pretty reasonably too, which is always a win in LA. Will definitely be coming back on a night out!

Came here with a couple of coworkers and had a great time. The ambiance and overall vibe were really lively without feeling overwhelming. We tried three different drinks and all of them were solid. The bartenders were friendly and made the experience even better. The DJ even took song requests, which was a nice touch and kept the energy fun. There's also a good amount of seating, so it didn't feel cramped. Definitely a spot I'd come back to.

Most of these type of bars in the Little Tokyo community popping up now are a plague on society. Overhyped ingredients and flavor profiles that fall flat. All at a premium. Here they have a more minimalist approach to building the drinks. For $12-15, you get a really dynamite cocktail with new ingredients you haven't tried. Open to trying more of their stuff.

fave place for japanese whisky. when i come here i only get the yamazaki 12 year whisky, it's so smooth and really makes you feel some typa way. idk. i love it so much. aside from the amazing whisky, they have lots of cute and delicious cocktails for every taste. and beers, etc. the vibes are off the chart. it's beautiful inside with dim lighting and chill people. the servers are uber cool. one of my favorite bars in little tokez.

From fun nights out, special occasions, whiskey tastings, exploring the speakeasy... playing some pool, enjoying libations, taking in live music, perfect outings on the patio, the occasional cigar. So many great memories and experiences created here including some awesome date days with my other half. If stopping in for the first time you'll discover S.G. on 7th and Grand Avenue with a door person usually always at the bottom of the staircase just outside of the restaurant/cocktail bar Zaya (which has been many incarnations including Bar CDMX, V and Mas Malo). Provide them with a valid ID, as anybody over 21 should have a valid form of identification on them at all times, not just for driving or access to 21+ events or establishments, but for safety. And Seven Grand cares about everyone and their safety. They value their staff as much as their customers. And it shows in every way from thoughtful space in all directions, great pool tables, a whiskey, bourbon and scotch curated cocktail menu, even some good brew/beer. Awesome hallways with cabinet lockers, the cleanest restrooms, great dim dark warm lighting, fun fixtures and true DTLA vibes that feel old timey yet also very modern. Seven Grand is open to all and all are welcome. Stellar daily happy hour 4pm to 8pm. I love a good $10 Toki Highball at 5pm, but you can't go wrong with their classic old fashion also. All the bartenders are incredible as well as personable. S Grand is open every day from 4pm until 2am. Loads of lots close by as well as the Metro station at 7th and Metro. Though the trains currently stop just a little after midnight. Rideshare is also your friend, which now includes Waymo in the area. Discover Seven Grand also in San Diego, Austin or Denver. If planning an event you inquire with Stephen via email for personal parties, events with a budget and even corporate parties. They're very accommodating with a good amount of notice. When we had my boyfriend's birthday here they reserved a table for us and set us up with everything we needed. Thinking of having my next birthday here myself both at Seven Grand and Bar Jackalope (their hidden speakeasy). Support your awesome LA Whiskey Bar!

Everything we ordered was absolutely delicious, fresh sushi, great sake, amazing atmosphere, and genuinely kind service from start to finish. But what really blew me away happened after we left. I accidentally left my purse behind with everything in it, including cash. I came back the next day honestly preparing for the worst, and not only had they safely kept it for me, but every single thing was still exactly where I left it. I told the woman helping me that if the $100 bill inside was still there, I wanted her and the staff to keep it because integrity like that deserves to be rewarded. At first I thought it was gone, then found it tucked into a corner of my bag, and happily handed it over. It was worth every penny to get my purse back and to thank genuinely good people for doing the right thing. I literally was going to be so lost without my bag. Not only did it have my work badge, but my car key, the keys to my apartment keys to my mailbox, etc. I really did not want to have to make copies. I just had my keys stolen a year ago. In the same square mile there are things that bring you the ultimate levels of joy and gratification while also finding things that bring you sadness, or in some cases anger. Think about the traffic; oh that maddening traffic! However, life is better when spent focusing on the positive rather than the negative and one positive about Los Angeles is that there is no shortage of cool little nocks and crannies to fall into on any given night. One of these aforementioned nocks and/or crannies is Bar Jackalope, situated right in the heart of Downtown LA on 7th & Grand Ave. It offers one of my favorite features in life... a secret. It's tucked away behind an unassuming passage, posing as a hallway for the historic Seven Grand. When you walk in, you are greeted with Speakeasy decor and a wide variety of whiskey often difficult to find at other bars, even the ones with a large spirits selection. The cherry on top is that you can have a cigar with your whiskey, the way God intended, instead of just drinking like a savage. There are fewer joys in life than a good quality whiskey and a nice fat cigar that could give you a buzz even if you weren't drinking. But there is a caveat. Bar Jackalope is only open during prime time going-out days, think Thurs-Sun, so it is always busy and can be a hassle to deal with, even if you live in Downtown. In addition, although the place is filled with beautiful and fun people it is often too loud to have fun with someone you don't already know, unless body language is your modus operandi. What can I say, as I sit her indulging in the bliss of puffing some delicious smoke followed by drinking some delicious whiskey? The atmosphere fits the historic hotel, and while the cocktails and beers were perfectly fine, nothing really stood out. I was the only one in our group who ordered a cocktail, while the others had beer, and the bill still felt surprisingly high. While restaurant and bar prices seem to be climbing everywhere these days, it certainly wasn't a great value. Later that evening, after returning from an art walk and realizing we hadn't had dinner, we stopped back in hoping for a quick pizza and a couple of beers. The place was packed. The waitress, who was friendly and clearly trying her best, suggested we check the back area to see if any tables were available. We couldn't find one, so we returned to the front and eventually a small table opened up. By that point, the atmosphere felt less like a hotel bar and more like a club that had sold too many tickets. We ordered two beers and a pepperoni pizza to share. The pizza was honestly one of the worst I've ever been served. The crust was bad. The cheese was bad. The pepperoni was bad. I know that sounds harsh, but it was genuinely difficult to eat. At one point I watched my daughter spit out the pepperoni and try to choke down the cheese and crust. Neither of us came close to finishing it. The waitress was busy but pleasant throughout, and I don't fault the service. In fact, she was smart enough not to ask how we liked the food. Adding to the frustration was the automatic 20% service charge. With food of that quality, seeing that charge on the bill felt like adding insult to injury. Between the mediocre drinks, the inedible pizza, and the extra fees, the value simply wasn't there. The historic setting and hardworking staff are the only reasons this review isn't even lower. If you're staying at the Biltmore, enjoy a drink if you'd like, then walk a block or two and find dinner somewhere else. You'll almost certainly be happier.

By this time the host had put our names down for larger tables in the patio so it was just a matter of time for them to seat us. Eventually after being ushers around multiple times, they got us a table large enough to seat everyone. I appreciated that they were willing to work with us, I wished however that when I had pre called to set this up they would have said, reserving a table would have been the better of the two choices. I ended up tipping the hostess $20 because she was so kind, even when our party was bopping from table to table and being asked to move by staff LOL. I had their NA michelada which was pretty good considering it was NA. My boyfriend had two of their old fashioned drinks.. he likes a classic old fashioned but they don't really offer that. He wasn't a fan, and after trying 2/4 types they offered he ended up switching to beer and whatever other drinks his/my friends were giving him. Safe to say he got sufficiently drunk that night lol we also ordered fries, cauliflower and quesadillas for the table to split. All decent bar food. Service was great, drinks were decent, and the company was the best part. Given this was located in DTLA since some of our friends were driving out from the 626 and the SFV, not sure we would be back since we are located in the west side.

The drinks can definitely get a little pricy but they are definitely worth it. I think I had 3 cocktails and 2 shots but everything was delicious as well as strong. Its a beautiful interior with an upstairs that I didn't get to check out but overall a very classy, old fashioned place. I would definitely come back here just for the drinks.

The private event featured FOMA's top mixologist working alongside some of The Wolve's mixologists. I tried one of FOMA's signature libations - Isla Bonita (Milagro Reposado, Vanilla, Pineapple, Passion Fruit, Lemon, & Milk). In addition to one of The Wolves specialty cocktails - Jamaiquita (Milagro Blanco, Hibiscus, Pineapple, Cinnamon, Basil, & soda). Both drinks were expertly crafted, perfectly balanced, and a delight on the palate. Since it was a party there was live entertainment and delicious food from the kitchen that was served buffet style in the charming loft area. I'm glad I finally got to check this place out and am looking forward to coming back. *Metered street parking or nearby lots.

I am of Mexican Descent but I embrace the eclectic mix of American practices first, and then…read moreMexican traditions. Like I would opt to attend a concert in the Disney Concert Hall before a Corrido, 100% percent of the time. Nevertheless, I still feel a connection to Mexican culture that endures. This connection, I felt was respected, when I saw Coco. I know, I know, Coco was an animated project that literally gave caricature form to Mexican traditions. In doing so, however, it gave fresh vibrancy with color and detail, cultural songs that are not tired, and a story that centralized the the spirit of Mexican lore with respectable flare. In contrast, Las Perlas had aspects that, in my opinion, caricaturized Hispanic culture. So let us start the review by exploring the contrast of what seemed fresh and what seem stale, at least in one Yelpers opinion. What has withstood the test of time, is the tequila selection and how it is displayed in a shelf. All the bottles are stacked by size, color, and together say- this is the house that tequila build, sample different kinds but just use some caution or else your face might know the pound of the floor. I also noticed (and clipped) a picture of a ladder that can be used to climb to get the bottles from the top. So literally effort and climb is required to reach the top shelf booze of the place. The focal point of the tequila shelf was an image of the Virgin Mary. For me, this is where the situation becomes a bit more complex but not necesirarily in a cool way. The Virgin Mary is the patron saint of Mexico, and on her birthday celebrations and pilgrimages abound to celebrate her life. I have been to LA's Cathedral and her famous and she is celebrated by lights that form into red roses, and by patrons who go seeking her favor by reverence. Using her image to show that she is blessing tequilas or their pure intent seems to minimize or twist her purpose. Like do people really want connect the reverence owed to the mother of a deity to an item that is used to lubricate a party? Maybe. I have heard that Dyonosus- Greek God of Wine-- sponsored some great parties through libations. I know that I might have dived deep into my thoughts here but what was one stylish and novel can now be considered un-modern. On another quick example, we see Campesinos (field workers) tend to the leafs that give tequila to the world. These workers were doing back breaking labor, one can feel the heat and soreness of the workers just by seeing the mural. And in the clip two girls are using their phone, to keep up with modern demands--- whether that be posting, influencing or moving stock funds around. Thus, in my opinion, the picture of laborers tending fields is one that should be balanced as Mexican's should no longer just be shown as braceros and laborers, even in this bar. I came around 9 and this bar was sort of crowded, the party was starting to build. I sat and drank their La Fresa Loca drink, with vodka instead of tequila. Special nod to their menu for being loteria-tablet-like. The drink was delicious, refreshing, and it made me feel like I was drinking a fun and fruity cocktail. I paid for two in advance then closed my card. They allowed for that. As soon as I finished one, I could order a new one. That was kind of neat, and I never had tried the strategy before. It helped me get my drinks in before the crowd accumulated. This is definitely a party spot, and I can see how it hits hard later in the evening. If you are the type of person that gets distracted with decorations and their place and message in modern times, like me, one might over think. But if one just wants to party hard with tequila and some tacos, and ladies, and gents, then this place handles.

They do have a patio with seating where many go for a quick smoke. Def not my vibe, but it seems to be a nice spot for a more lowkey or chill hang. I didn't order any drinks, but the service seemed quick. They have lots of bar seating, which is where most people were at. No cover fee.

Some other things we tried was the truffle pizza, which was also really good the Cobb salad which was bright. My favorite dessert was the sticky toffee pudding. It was perfectly sweetened and sat in a pool of salted caramel.
