Such a chill vibe. Huge comfy couches, low lighting, and huge comfy furniture. Located in the lobby of the hotel Figueroa. A great place to hang out before a show, meet friends, or stop by for a quick bite during happy hour. We'll definitely be back when we're downtown.
I popped in for afternoon cocktails in this great little bar. Located inside the Hotel Figueroa, it's comfortable with interesting Spanish renaissance decor. The bartender was courteous, attentive, and quick. The espresso martini was excellent. 20% tip plus a 4% "Benefits Surcharge" automatically added to the bill. Perhaps it's different at night before a Lakers game, but I highly recommend it on a quiet afternoon.
Even though it's been almost a decade, I do love the 'new' remodel. The lobby has such great Fung Shui and the curated art is off the charts and compliments the powerfully high ceilings. This is a solid place to journal, enjoy coffee and the best breakfast Burrito. If coffee is your thing, this is great at Hotel Fig and the very kind and fun Jorge will make you feel like you are truly at home as he has worked in DTLA since the 1980s and he is perfect in his position and happy to see him again and again. As a local, we appreciate the safety that Thi hotel fig provides and that its a protected oasis from the always-edgy DTLA streets. Thank you hotel Fig! You're one of my faves in town!
Came to Bar Magnolia on a Friday evening specifically for happy hour, which their website clearly advertises as Monday-Friday. Once there, I was told happy hour is only Monday through Thursday. I pulled up their own website and showed it to the server. The response? A shrug. No apology, no explanation, no effort to make it right. This is straight-up false advertising, and the lack of accountability made it worse. If you're going to change your happy hour, update your website and train your staff to handle it professionally. I shouldn't have to argue with a bar over their own posted information. Won't be back.
Decent! Nothing to write home about but gets the job done. Located inside of Hotel Figueroa. Service was quick. Vibey ambiance.
First time here and I plan on going back very soon ! Everything I had was delicious and made to my specifications. Service was fast and friendly - server was aware we were on our way to a Lakers game and expedited everything- Bravo ! They just need Worcestershire or A1 for the steaks
Didn't have the best experience here. I enjoyed a couple drinks before checking in for my stay. The atmosphere was great, such a beautiful space. The host was great and seated me right away, but it did take quite awhile for a server to come by. When they did I ordered a drink from their menu and he told me they were out of an ingredient. It was a short response, not giving me any alternatives. By the time I finished my drink, it took 10-15 minutes for someone to come by to see if I needed anything. I asked to order food before the kitchen closed but they also didn't have what I was asking for from the menu. Ordered another drink and went on my way. Server also didn't disclose that the tip was already included. Good thing I checked the third receipt on the bottom or I would not have known.
Lovely looking bar, which is why we came here as we were looking for drinks in a nice setting. Parking is easy, there's valet just to the left of the hotel. Service was great, we also ordered some appetizers, the charcuterie board, French fries and I think the hummus (although it's called something else). This definitely could be a nice date night.
My friend was staying at Hotel Figueroa, and we came here for drinks. This European inspired lounge is open & spacious. The ambience is cozy & inviting with plenty of plush couches to relax on. We sat at the bar where a genuinely nice bartender greeted us. Glancing over the cocktail menu I noticed a forgotten classic - Between the Sheets. I've only seen it served at Commander's Place in New Orleans. The drink originated in Paris in the 1920's and was made famous in the 1930's at Harry's New York Bar. Comprised of Cognac (D'Usse) Rum (Bacardi), Orange Liquor, & lemon juice - it's a derivative of the Sidecar. It was absolutely divine!
My gf and I went to Hotel Figueroa to checkout HH at Bar Magnolia. We were able to sit at any table by the bar. Waitress was extremely friendly. For drinks, we got the Delilah and the Eden. Both of which were refreshing and fruity. It didn't taste extremely alcoholic but we left with a good buzz. For food, we ordered the sliders and truffle fries. They weren't anything special, but can't complain due to the amount and price. Overall, we had a good time. If I really had to complain, it's that the sofa/loungers were kinda scratchy and had stains. It just didn't look clean.
Lovely bar! It's worth a visit. Depending on the atmosphere you're looking for, you'll either love it or be underwhelmed. The furniture, foliage, and decor really create an atmosphere that puts you at ease and comfort. It's modern and cozy. We sat next to the fireplace which kept us warm all night! Came here on a Friday evening and it was pretty empty. I think that is a plus! I had a glass of wine and my friend had champagne. The drinks did not disappoint. Yes it's a bit on the pricier side. You get what you pay for. A clean, classy setting with good quality drinks. One downfall is the parking. Their valet was full so we had to self park. $20 for self parking. DTLA sucks sometimes.
Excellent hotel bar serving craft cocktails in a comfortable environment. Service is excellent. Very casual if you want to have good drinks and conversations with friends unlike the loud and dark bars that take an arm and a leg to get into. The Harper is an excellent refreshing drink with a mezcal base. The Chloe is great if you're into whiskey sours. Plenty of seating with clinches all around as well as a bar.
Had a drink before dinner. Even though they didn't have a blender they made the frozen strawberry margarita somehow. My friend ordered it for me before I arrived. Really good still. Cool bar decor with lush plants and books to complement the bottles of alcohol. Bartender was sweet and gracious. read more

Make sure to hang onto your ID, stay plenty hydrated & be ready to pace yourself... Cause we are about to Hit the bar running and go full throttle with some virtual bar hopping. But first, let's see just how many styles of bars there really are. -Ahh the classic, no-frills Dive Bar -The Cocktail Bar/The Martini Bar -The Sports bar, The BeerGarden -The Pub, The Tavern, The Biker Bar (make sure you wear your best leather pants) -The Hotel Bar, The Rooftop Bar, The Lounge -The Night Club, The Comedy Club, The Karaoke Bar -The Tiki Bar, The Wine Bar -The hidden Speakeasy (my personal Fav.) And of course, where even at 8am there's no judgement passed... -The Airport Bar. Speaking of Traveling... Bonus: Consider yourself lucky if your hotel room just happens to have a well-stocked mini bar. The type of bar you choose is important. But sometimes, the Bar Chooses You! Bar Magnolia quietly enters the chat. It was October 11th, 2025 and my wife & I just checked into Hotel Figueroa in DTLA. (EPIC REVIEW Coming Soon!!!) While we were waiting for our room to be ready, we decided to check out the Hotel Bar Lounge... First thought, Color me Impressed! High ceilings, Natural lighting, classy decor, comfy couches... Yeah, take your time with that room, we'll wait! So we plopped down onto their sofa, waited for a cocktail menu, and let the "we left the kids at home with Grandma; let's enjoy being kid-free for the night begin". $18.00 cocktails....Lets Goooo!! Looking back at the Photos, I can't exactly recall what we ordered... Was it a whiskey sour? Was it a paper plane?? Honestly, Who cares! They tasted great. I was sitting across from a beautiful woman. And we were responsibly adulting. What more could a guy ask for?? I'm glad you asked! After a long car ride in, sipping on water, then the first few sips of my cocktail, I suddenly had to go... Luckily, the restrooms are located just adjacent to the bar area and DAMN are they clean!! Hey, if a bar restroom is well taken care of, you know the place has Class.... And Bar Magnolia has the Class to Match! Of course, there is bar stool seating at the bar... (I usually prefer sitting at the bar as there's always some great stories to be heard and when it time to order another round, you can literally just cut out the... Middle Man (Aka waiting for your server to come check back in) In addition to the bar top stools, there are also low top tables, and a few couch-chairs with a low top table for more intimate conversations. Besides those $18 craft cocktails, a short, well Curated list of bubbles, vino and draft beers are all up for grabs. Unfortunately, we had stopped to eat before we arrived (bad move on our part), but next time, and THERE WILL BE A NEXT TIME, we will definitely partake in their food menu (cause damn, did it look GOOD!) So whether you are a guest of Hotel Figueroa, you are leaving the Crypto Arena after a concert and want to paint the town red, or you are simply just wanting to sit, relax and enjoy a nice cocktail at a classy, upscale, but not so pretentious Cocktail Lounge... Bar Magnolia is your place! Well, it's almost closing time, they are about to call for Last Call, so order us another round, bottoms up and Cheers to us!!! read more

It's the second time I came here for some drinks before a basketball game. I have a feeling it might just be a ritual. The drinks here are pretty good and plentiful. The one drink that keeps making a recurring appearance is the Chloe. It is super refreshing and the egg whites add an interesting texture to it. Happy hour menu is pretty generous. I would avoid the Delilah since it was a very bland drink. Will be coming back to try the rest of the menu! read more

I love a good mellow bar. After a long day of walking around DTLA, we needed to rest our feet and have a drink. We heard that the Figueroa Hotel had an amazing rooftop bar, but that bar wouldn't open for another hour and it was super windy. Lobby bar it is! The Bar Figueroa is very comfy with plush couches and chairs scattered about. There's a lot of brass and books used as decorations. We were only here for one drink and I got the MALENA. This was Wild Turkey Rye, Campari, Port, Orange Blossom & Orange Bitters. I wasn't ready for how bitter it was going to be. The port seemed to over power everything. The rye was the only thing I tasted after the port. Everything else was lost. It wasn't a bad drink, but I feel like it might have been made incorrectly, because when I ordered it the bartender had to read menu to see what was in it. Four stars for the vibe and look of this place. This is definitely a bar I could hang at for a round or three. read more

This bar is located inside Hotel Figueroa near DTLA. We reserved a table for a girlfriend's birthday and it turned out so lovely. We got a table outside and were able to watch the beautiful sunset. The cauliflower bites are a must try! If you are looking for a chill place to bar hop nearby this restaurant has great happy hour deals. There is a parking lot nearby where you can park your car while you dine in at the restaurant. read more

It's a 'snazzy' place w/downtown prices. $14 for a gin & tonic. Live music was nice in the lobby and architecture was really impressive. From the flooring to the ceiling. If ur around the area, I say it's a nice place to come for 1 drink, chat and hop on to the next place. Definitely not the place to get hammered lol. read more

To Staff & Management: I've enjoyed this place for some time now and this past weekend i made the best decision of my life to have a surprise proposal for my future wife there. I want to give a special Thanks to Mike, the 2 Nick's, Cara & Ernesto (Valet) for making it the best day possible with your help.To anyone reading this, I highly recommend coming here for Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner or even happy hour. Have been working and going out in Downtown for years and only just recently discovered this gem. What a beautiful and elegant little lounge tucked away inside the Hotel Figueroa. Every time i've come here i've had impeccable service, mind-blowingly delicious cocktails, and the most unexpectedly interesting conversations. Rob and Jimmy are fantastic bartenders; very attentive, knowledgeable and charming. I highly recommend the Last Chance cocktail-- but if not, Rob will whip you up something special that is sure to exceed your expectations. He crafted me some sort of whiskey-apple-pear concoction that to this day i've never been able to find anywhere else (see attached picture). If you're looking for food-- try the yellowtail crudo. Seriously to die for. It's one of the best things on the menu. read more

The food was delicious. This place is beautiful and its ambiance is very impressive. It has beautiful architecture and art when walking into the bar. Their drinks are also very good. The place is pricey but you pay for the ambiance. The food was enjoyed by my date and I was very good also. However, their portions are ridiculously small for the price. I would've enjoyed something a bit more fulfilling for the price. Overall, the place is beautiful and the food is good. Only down side you can't come here if you're truly hungry. read more

Omg loved this place! I wouldn't have come here if I was just seeing the facade as it looks old and shady! It was a short walk from the convention center so we didn't have to worry about parking. It wasn't really a bar but it was almost the whole ground floor of the hotel. It was so beautiful! The obviously spent a fortune renovating the places. It was so warm and inviting. We attended a hosted dinner and got to try their shoe string fries, chicken satay, ribs, Wings, salad, etc. Loved this place and will definitely go back! Can't wait so see how the rooms look too. read more

Very cool Mediterranean feel with amazing innovative botanical drinks. The drinks have great combinations of fresh herbs (some with dry ice) that bring them to a new level. We had never heard of hotel/bar Figueroa, but it looked interesting when we passed by. We ended up spending most of the afternoon and getting a room at the hotel. The bartender, Peter, was awesome- very knowledgeable and personable. It is nice to learn a little history and background of the food and drink Highly recommended. We will definitely come back.
