Anne's cafe is a great place to support local and have a yummy breakfast! I had the western omelet with sausage, home fried potatoes, and a biscuit. My friend had the one egg and bacon with a biscuit and a side of sausage gravy. My omelet was delicious and HUGE (3 eggs is a lot) and the biscuit was so yummy and perfectly moist with a crispy bottom. Yum, I could go for another right now. The sausage gravy was delish and a great consistency to serve over the crispy biscuit. Everyone was very friendly and it was so great to see the locals saying hi to everyone they knew. I loved the small town vibes and food.

Cute sign on the porch at Annie's Cafe.

My wife and I went to Annie's Cafe on 12/11/25 for lunch. It is a small casual place run by several wonderful women. At first we sat outside but moved inside when a table became available as it got too cold out there. My wife ordered a large hamburger with fried mushrooms and I got a BLT and onion rings. The food was great. We also liked several cute signs that they had around the place. Our server was excellent, very friendly and attentive. We had a good time there.

Definitely 5 stars. The team was so warm and friendly. Felt like we were hanging out at a friend's home. We really enjoyed breakfast out on the deck with water vie. I had a delicious blackened grouper with grits and a biscuit special, which was amazing and a great way to mix up breakfast proteins. Very kid-friendly as well.

Great spot on the way into cedar key - outdoor seating on the deck or screened in porch (dogs welcome on deck) and I door seating as well Grouper sandwich was delicious as was my side of steamed cabbage and corn nuggets! Yum!! They offer a buddy burger for dogs as well

I arrived in Cedar Key on a late August weekend without a plan....I ended up here at Annie's my first afternoon on a recommendation with local clam and oyster icon Capt Bobby. We sat out outside (on the screened porch) and Kelly promptly greeted us. She was friendly and attentive. Since I'm on vacation, and they have Rolling Rock, I opted for that - not easily found anymore! Light and crisp for a hot summer day. A few options were not available and Kelly suggested not going with a couple either.... Capt Bobby had a burger! I heard the burgers were good, but I wanted something seafood/fish related...so instead I ended up with the flounder sandwich on Kelly's recommendation. It came with a side, Cole slaw but I couldn't resist getting a side of hush puppies as well. I have had really good hush puppies in my time... but these were hands down, the best hush puppies on the planet. Light and fluffy, super flavorful. YUM! I could have just eaten a couple of orders of those. But my flounder sandwich was really good too, fresh. Great choices for my first meal in town. I ate the whole thing. I was so full, I couldn't eat anything else the rest of the day/night!

Western Omelet. Make sure you order the sausage gravy fasgoes quickly! quickly!

We came to spend the weekend at Cedar Key, and Annie's definitely has the best breakfast by far! You'll want to sit outside to enjoy the beautiful estuary island view. Service was fast and with a great big smile

We love coming to Annie's for breakfast. Try the breakfast with mullet. Enjoy your coffee while watching the trout jump in the marsh.

There wasn't a hostess there when we showed up and then three servers took turns to say hold on for the hostess and then had no accountability when they said, 'I don't know where she is..'. Finally somebody said they were full up and tried to scare us with a 30 - 45 min wait when there were obvious tables open. We tried to understand what was going on and asked the next up server if they just didn't have the servers which made them a little friendlier. Then all of sudden a huge group left so the next server had no choice to seat us. Meanwhile, several other customers showed up behind us which put more pressure on the service. The next up server left to go clean an available outside table, and then 10 seconds later another server came up and tried to steer us away again saying no seats are open. We told this new server the next server got us to straighten out their lack of communication, and they readmitted they didn't know where the hostess was. We ended getting seated and waited another 15 to have our drink order put in. She seemed busy so we ended up putting in everything in at the same time. I had the clams and a pretzel, my wife had the shrimp rice bowl. Everything did come out fresh and super salty and not very good. Drinks were strong and mid, I won't go there again.

So they operate both restaurants out of the same location. 2nd street cafe for breakfast and lunch and Steamers for dinner. Our server did say they are planning to build a new building somewhere, but i'm not really sure where. We had the gator bites to start, they were pretty good. Cedar Key island Bakery is a family owned bakery where most if not all of their recipes come from previous generations ! In the early 2000's they opened in Nashville and the bakery grew very big but the family wanted to travel the country. After some time they decided to settle in Cedar Key ! Everyone who walks in to the bakery will be greeted with smiles and kindness! On Thursday's it's key lime pie day and you must go early! As the day goes on the delicious baked goods can disappear fast. The fantastic chocolate cake I've heard is a secret recipe that's been in the family for many, many years I can only imagine. It is so moist and heavenly, not too sweet and just the right flavor, texture and richness we had to go back in and grab a second to take back home! There is even ice cream if you'd like to have some on top, just yum! I picked up a caramel apple donut that was out of this world stuffed to the brim with apples so fresh and incredible. I also got a peanut butter and jelly donut that most definitely had real peanut butter and it is outrageously delicious! The chocolate covered donut was simply divine. The chocolate on top is thick and tastes almost a bit like ganache. I will be getting these again and trying others when we come back as the Cedar Key Bakery is going to be our go to when visiting. I almost forgot about my maple bacon donut that I also really liked. I would probably add more bacon but maybe that's me because it still is another delicious option. Everything in this bakery is wonderful and I can promise that you will love it! The atmosphere itself is amazing, you just have to walk in and see. It almost feels like an old country store but instead you find wonderful fresh baked goods and ice cream ! What more can anyone ask for. I guess it began as a truck stop decades ago and then became solely a restaurant. Anyways, they have had a cosmetic refresh, painting the building, adding cute signage including some features explaining Bett's long history, and just made the dining rooms a down-home but clean and inviting place now. This goes a long way: I am all for hole-in-the-wall restaurants but you don't want a place to look dirty, either. Bett's no longer does. It looks comfortable and plain-spoken, honest, and home town now. The food has always been good. You get a menu dinner or daily special--things like chicken fried steak or liver and onions or fried mullet--and a choice of three sides. The sides range from mac-n-cheese and collards to normally a couple homemade desserts: the peach cobbler and strawberry cake both are not to be missed. Portions are generous. Their Friday and Saturday all-you-can-eat seafood dinner is also a real deal and good food. Red velvet cake, caramel cake, and lemon cake are hits too but less frequent in their menu appearances. Ford hook limas sometimes show up too, slowly cooked with bacon or ham and are awesome. The painting and general interior and exterior refresh really went a long ways with me to have greater confidence in Bett's. It's now easily a place I rank with some of the region's best country/Southern cooking restaurants.
