We've been fans of this place because the views are amazing and the gift shop is so fun. Unfortunately my brother went to celebrate his 22nd birthday with our dad and his grandparents and didn't have a good experience. He ordered a small glass of red wine and was asked for his ID. He didn't have it with him so the waitress told him he couldn't have the drink. I think it would be a weird thing to lie about your age when accompanied by your dad and grandparents, but when my grandpa tried to order the drink instead, they were told no one at the table was allowed to order a drink. This strikes me as really odd and poor service. Despite knowing it was his birthday, and denying him his drink, they still didn't do anything special like a small dessert or something like that. My mother and I stayed two nights at this inn on the Blue Ridge Parkway. Come for the view, leave with a full heart. The restaurant serves up great food with the same view guests experience during their stay. We chose to have dinner and breakfast here. Misty, our dinner server, delivered a premier experience for us. I commend her dedication to excellence. The mountain trout was delicious and great for sharing. The other options on the menu look like great options too. This place is set up for multi-course dinners at three-star prices. At breakfast, nothing says "good morning" better than the smell of fresh coffee. Take a sip and enjoy the view over the valley below. We ordered high-protein meals that will help us make the journey home without needing to make a lunch stop. Both our breakfast plates were done well. We had a 9:30 a.m. reservation for breakfast. We were on time until there was an accident right in front of us on Highway 26 that added about 25 minutes to our drive. Before continuing the hour-long drive up the mountain, we called to let the restaurant know we would be late and asked if that would be okay. The woman on the phone told us, "No worries, we'll let them know." We arrived at 9:48 a.m. and went to the front desk to check in. Instead of being greeted courteously, the man at the counter looked at us as if we had done something wrong and informed us that breakfast service ended at 9:45 a.m. The same woman we had spoken to on the phone was standing there but said nothing. Had we been told during our phone call that breakfast service ended at 9:45, we would have simply canceled our reservation instead of driving an hour up the mountain. We completely understand if policies can't be bent, but we expect accurate information and respectful customer service. Instead, we were given incorrect information and then treated with hostility. It was a very disappointing experience, and I would recommend choosing another place for breakfast. read more

We had a lovely dinner there a couple weeks ago. Originally planned reservations with out of town guests. Unfortunately they had to cancel so we went by ourselves. Had 7:30 reservations. We were seated about 7:50. It seems that the 7:30 (maybe 7:45) group were last reservations for the evening. By the time we left we were 1 of only 2-3 tables remaining. Unfortunately it was cloudy so not much of a sunset. We split a salad a salad with goat cheese, pecans etc. ant remember what it was called. The small size salad was plenty to split to have a side salad portion. Hubby had their special, Scottish salmon, and really liked it. I had chicken Marsala - also excellent - the sauce wasn't overly rich as frequently Marsala can be. I ate every bite. (Sorry, forgot to take pics of food). We even splurged on dessert - something we rarely do. The Chocolate Silk Pie is good but extremely rich. We had it with the add-ons, ice cream, whipped cream and strawberries. I highly recommend it this way as it would be too rich without something to offset it. Our server , can't remember her name, was excellent - personable, prompt, professional and knowledgeable. She even offered 2-3 times to make a fresh pot of coffee for me even though they were closing and cleaning up. I would have loved a cup with dessert but declined so not to be wasteful. We are about a one hour drive away and this is the first time my husband and I had been here together. I had visited multiple times previously. Quicker room turnover and definitely a better chef!!! We stayed 2 nights. Arrived at 2:45pm and did not get our room until 4:20pm. We had dinner reservations for 5:00pm so we literally had to rush to make dinner. As for the restaurant: I had the St Louis style ribs and they came out so smothered in BBQ sauce that I could not even taste the meat. The next evening, I paid $44 for a 12oz ribeye which ended up being about 9oz after removing all the grizzle and fat. As a person that travels and eats in restaurants over 2 hundred times per year, this is the Worst experience I have ever had!! I made a reservation a month in advance for my family that came into town. I got a text that read "You're Booked". 12 hours before our reservation- 9pm- I got another confirmation that stated you're booked. Unfortunately, we were already in bed as it is over an hour drive for us to even get to this restaurant. The next morning, I scanned my messages and saw "your booked"again. I read no further. We drove to the restaurant, arriving 20 minutes early, and the host behind the counter told me I had no reservation. I showed him my text that said "your booked" and his statement to me was, "You need to read. You needed to confirm that reservation 24 hours in advance". I said "I didn't even realize there was any additional text there, it was a paragraph down, I didn't see it, and why would I have to confirm something when the first sentence states "you're booked"? So because we were early, I walked over to the gift shop, confirmed my reservation by typing 1, and immediately received Confirmation that we were in that morning for 9:15! no harm, no foul. Even though the guy was a bit rude. I thought oh well we're in. We're good. Also, at this time, there were many open tables in this restaurant. I have eaten there before, and seen it packed. But there were open tables everywhere. When we walked back over to be seated & the host stated "You don't have a reservation. You're not in my system. We are overbooked this morning, I can't even seat the people that have reservations this morning and again he stated "you should have read the text"-. At this point, I motioned towards the empty restaurant, turned my phone around and said "You need to read this text, it states confirmed right here and I just got it"! This is when the tension truly escalated. Your host got very angry, and stated we had to confirm that 24 hours in advance. I said this is ridiculous. The first sentence in your reservation system says you're booked. I travel all over the country. This never happens. This is a system issue not a customer issue. At this point, I asked to speak with a manager. And he said I am the manager, and you need to leave and hit the top of the counter and his iPad with his hands! In front of my family and the few customers that were at the restaurant. I told him I would be leaving a review and turned to walk away, and he yelled "you go ahead and leave a review" and proceeded to come around the counter physically into our space! At this point one of his own employees, a rather large in stature, gentleman, stepped around the counter and put his hand on his Manager's chest to hold him back. Which was relatively easy as the manager was a very small man. My family and I exited the restaurant and we proceeded to talk about this scenario for our entire memorial day weekend as it was so upsetting. We all work in customer service. My wife and my nephew who is a criminal investigator could not believe how this person acted. Then as we were driving home, we realized that his statement of "you needed to confirm 24 hours in advance" was also not factual as that final text was 12 hours before our reservation. We also got notification that our reservation was canceled 30 minutes after we left the restaurant. Which tells me in the system our reservation was indeed still there and confirmed as it stated on my phone. So another update. To begin with, we've been coming here since the mid-1950s, not every year but pretty close to it. We've seen the Inn change for better and worse over the decades, and recently all was good. Recently, but not necessarily right. now. Our comments are focused on the restaurant, not the rooms (generally comfortable, breathtaking mountain views, and now at least $200 per night). The restaurant was frankly terrible for much of the '70s and '80s, but it began a gradual improvement, and into this century it has pretty consistently offered well-prepared meals for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. On our visit a short time ago, however, lunch was poor. And so was the oversight. Our poke bowl was advertised on kale; it came with lettuce, and no one on the staff seemed to understand the difference. The bowl itself was, well, sort of murky and without taste. The chicken pot pie, always a favorite, featured a gummy crust and little chicken (all of it dark meat) underneath. Very unsatisfying. Those two dishes together were just short of $50. For lunch. Our server was pleasant, but two different managers floated by our table asking "How is it" and kept on moving when we explained "not very good." So, it this typical? Honestly, we don't know. We hope it was just a bad day. But we didn't bother to return on this trip, and we'd caution others. We truly love Pisgah inn, and this experience was not welcome. The gift shop still carries some attractive items though the small deli in the same building has little appealing food. But even if you go just for the views, they are wonderfully bracing. There are now chairs facing the mountains for everyone, and the improved and enlarged observation deck is most welcome. We do love Pisgah, but sometimes tough love is called for. read more

It's back! Thrilled to experience the Pisgah Inn this weekend. I am a longtime fan...and can report that it is back to its old self. Loved the new wine bar (if you have wanted to try the bottle-only options on the restaurant menu go to the wine bar). The view from the room balconies is still the best of any hotel in the Southeast (yes, I've stayed at most of the big-name Southern mountain hotels. Pisgah's accomodation are clean and rustic but the view is THE THING). So peaceful, so chill, so simple, so wonderful. Go there now! read more

We asked to split our group into 2 and they were ok with that. Our reservation was at 1:45 pm and we were seated by the windows. Throughly enjoyed the view the whole time. Our server was courteous and answered all our questions. Food came out in a timely manner. The wrap and vegetables were good. The chicken pot pie was also tasty as was the fish. We made our semi-annual trek to the Pisgah Inn yesterday. It was a beautiful spring day on the Blue Ridge Parkway, sunny and with temps in the mid-50s at nearly a mile high at Mt. Pisgah. Everything was a lush spring green on the Parkway, which we entered from Brevard Road at the North Carolina Arboretum, until we got to the higher elevations near Pisgah, where only some of the trees are fully budded out. (Going back down we took the curvy Pisgah Highway.) Last fall, partly due to staffing issues, the inn basically wasn't open for dinner to anyone who wasn't staying at the inn. Now, however, anyone can make reservations for breakfast, lunch and dinner through RESY (there's a $15 per person cancellation fee for dinner if you don't show up.) We had made an early dinner reservation, at 5 pm, hoping to get a window table at the restaurant. We were successful. Right before 5, just a few people were waiting, and we were ushered to a window spot in the bright and well-maintained dining room. The Inn looks very good, with new paint and polish in several places. There's now a wine bar in the building next to the restaurant, in what I think formerly was a couple of guest rooms. The wine bar was closed, but it looks nicely done, with a fireplace and cozy chairs. Next to the restaurant is the old gift shop and an expanded grab-n-go shop, now called the Deer Grazing Café. This has sandwiches to go for $17. The dining room eventually filled up, although there never was a long line to get in. Our friendly waiter said so far the Inn hadn't been full, and he was just working minimum hours in the restaurant. However, after Memorial Day, the Inn likely will stay 100% booked. As we watched soaring hawks just outside the restaurant window, I had a French Broad Brewing Goldenrod Pilsner ($7) before dinner. For reasons that Inn staff couldn't quite explain - whether it's due to federal, state or county rules - the restaurant serves only beer and wine, not mixed drinks. (The dining room, and the inn as well, is located partly in Transylvania County and partly in Haywood County, and it gets its water from Henderson County.) Although the restaurant has more than a dozen beer taps, at present there are no draft beers, just canned. The wine list has grown and has gone upmarket. The "Captain's List" of premium wines has bottles that start at around $90 and go well in the three figures, though the regular wine list has bottles mostly from the $30s to $80s and also wines by the glass, from $9. For an appetizer we shared the Fried Green Tomatoes ($13.95), served with ranch dressing and a cranberry compote. This was okay, though there was more breading than tomatoes. For an entrée my wife had the Sorrel's Creek Farm Whole Trout, with two sides ($28.95), and I had the Fish 'n Chips with fried catfish ($23.95). The trout, charred rather than baked and filleted by the waiter at the table, was very good. My catfish was lightly breaded and well-cooked, but seemed a little lacking in flavor. Catfish is an unusual choice for traditional English fish 'n chips, but it's interesting. The fries were excellent. Like the wine list, the menu has expanded, and prices are significantly higher than they used to be (like just about every restaurant these days). Dinner salads range from around $9 to $23, entrées start at $20, and sandwiches are around $15 to $18. The 8 oz. burger is still on the menu, at $16.45 with cheese. With tax and tip, our meal with one beer, one appetizer and two entrées came to about $95. Service was efficient. Overall, it was a lovely early evening meal at a beautiful place, and to us it was worth the money. This hotel is in a 5 Star Location. My wife and I used to eat here after a weekend of backpacking. We finally booked a room for the Fall Colors in 2019 and have returned yearly. The rooms are a bit rustic, but the view is worth it. If you want fall colors, I recommend you book a year in advance. It is a crap shoot; this year, we missed peak weekend by a week. There are plenty of trails nearby for hiking, the scenery is wonderful, the staff was great, and the food is excellent. There is also a gift shop next to the restaurant. This was our 1st trip to the restaurant and probably our last! It was our 11th anniversary and an 11:30 reservation was made for lunch. We arrived at 11:16 and were told they were not seating people quite yet and our name would be called. We stepped outside and within 5 minutes, people were being seated, but our name yet called. We figured they were seating the guests staying at the Inn first. The point of arriving at 11:30 was to have a window seat, which luckily we were able to do. Upon Celine arriving to our table to take our drink order, my husband noticed his silverware was dirty, so we asked for a clean set. We also ordered our drinks, but did so in a to-go cup. (Too many dirty glasses at restaurants have led us to this special order). We didn't get told the specials, such as Chicken Tortilla soup, nor the catch of the day. After about 5 minutes we got clean silverware, our drinks and ordered. I got the chicken sandwich and my husband the club wrap. We sat there and after waiting about 20 minutes we got our food, only to send the wrap back due to a hair on the item. I had to walk up to the hostess stand to tell someone since Celine was waiting on the 4 and 5 top table behind and to the right of us. Micah made sure we had what we needed after that, but Celine never returned to our table. I finally asked her did she have a problem waiting on us, to which she had no reply. What made it worse is that the manager knew of the problems with our meal and service, but never came to our table to say I'm sorry, offer a complimentary desert or anything. Our tip went to Micah. Since that time, I've emailed the inn, and called 3 times, all to no avail. I guess the Pisgah inn and restaurant think they are above making a mad meal and having bad service, otherwise I'm not really sure why they have not called back. This is why I say One and Done. If they don't care now they never will. It's a shame, because it is a quaint restaurant with a nice view of the mountains. Do Better and Care about your guests! read more

We drive up from Asheville and had a beautiful drive up the parkway. Checked-.in for lunch (they only do lunch for people who are not staying at the inn) and they take reservations up to 30 days ahead. Highly recommend doing the reservation thing so you can eat here. We were promptly seated and had a beautiful view from our table. Our server was very sweet and took very good care of us. Always made sure our glasses (tea or water) were filled. Food was delicious! I had a chicken pot pie and the filling was so flavorful and the puff pastry on top was perfect. I had the garden salad as my side and the ranch was yummy. Loved that it came out before my main course so I could enjoy it. My husband had the Rueben with fries and he thought it was prepared well and nice fries. We had made reservations in advance for 9 people, coming from East Asheville. 10 minutes from the location- There was a blocked road due to an overturned truck. ( The road was blocked by 3 traffic cones ). We had no wifi and limited phone service up on the mountain. When we were able to connect, the front desk had difficulty to connect us to the restaurant. In a nutshell: The staff said that they knew about the accident for some time. No one called us to share an alternative route to the restaurant. That would have been professional courtesy. No one called us to share the news that they knew that the road was blocked- and to allow us for extra time to make the reserved time.. Know that the roads are narrow and difficult to turn around in, we needed assistance and received none. We are new in the area and without gps or wifi or consistent phone service, we were lost. Yes, we found our way home. Our group of nine included children who suffered the delay to lunch that we had to find at another iconic restaurant. We felt like no one cared, from the lack of followup from staff, a lack of knowledge of an alternative route, and also their insistence that service stopped soon after our appointed time and if we wanted to cancel. No help at all to a return customer who brought new guests who also expected effective service. And we had a $1000 tab that could have helped your staff and your business. read more

I have had this one my list so long i just pains me to give it 3 stars. But if not for the view from the picture windows and the gorgeous drive up the mountain to get here, I'd seriously be giving it 2 stars. I'm sitting here looking at pictures of other people's fabulous food, but we just did not have that same experience. First, I have to say that the hostess, the server, and the busser were fantastic. Very friendly and personable. We were thrilled with the service we received. I think the issue here is the kitchen. For appetizers, my daughter and I shared Crab Dip, which was served with a few pieces of bread. Certainly not enough to get through the entire dish of dip. Perhaps they knew that we would not need any more bread as we wouldn't be making it through that dip? My son got the Pork Belly served atop white bean ragout and drizzled with balsamic glaze. That was the best thing we had all night. It tasted what you'd expect from a dish that cost that much to taste. Crispy, but tender pork. Flavorful bean ragout, seriously it was 5-star worthy. Alas, the streak would not continue. All of our entrees were very disappointing. My daughter got a grilled chicken sandwich, which she said the chicken was rubbery and had little seasoning and taste. My son had a half rack of ribs with rice and the vegetable of the day, which was spaghetti squash. He loves ribs. He did not love these. He said they tasted as if they weren't really cooked there, maybe just warmed up? And the spaghetti squash tasted like nothing. When he asked what kind of rice they were serving, our waitress said "Something that starts with an R" but she didn't offer to check, so after a few awkward moments, my son just agreed. He said it was ok. I got the grilled trout, a specialty of this area. It was fresh, but so little seasoning. Further, the menu said it was to be de-boned tableside. That didn't happen, instead it came deboned to me, a little rough looking for the journey. I had mashed potatoes and spaghetti squash. Everything on my plate was white. You only had that one choice for your vegetable. I asked for salt and pepper and when it finally arrived I was able to get through maybe 1/3 of the fish and a few bites of the spaghetti squash. The mashed potatoes were really good, though. So, here's a tip for all of you chefs out there: Put salt and pepper on the table. Why do I have to ask your permission to season the food that I'm paying a fortune for? Not such a big deal at a restaurant that is truly good at seasoning their dishes, but I still think you're being a little full of yourself. And not matter how good the salad dressing is seasoned, I still want salt and pepper on my salad, it's just the way I am. But I tip well, so it all evens out. Back to business. So the down low on this place is that they are in one of the most beautiful locations I've seen. It is worth the trip (maybe try lunch!) for that gorgeous view alone. But if the owners are reading this, it would be a shame not to make some simple adjustments to your kitchen to elevate your cuisine to match that gorgeous view. You'd have to shut the door on people because you are sitting on a gold mine with that location. Don't take that for granted and use the gift you have! This is one of our favorite places, we've been to Pisgah Inn for lunch many times. Yesterday we brought 2 friends with us and what a phenomenal experience! Our friends both had the walnut crusted trout, enjoyed every bite. And the one who made the experience the best was our server Celine. Our last stop on our Asheville trip was to the Pisgah Inn, high on the Blue Ridge Parkway overlooking the Pisgah National Forest. I made a reservation for lunch, as currently reservations are required and accepted up to 30 days in advance. We arrived to a well-spaced dining room and a table in the middle waiting for us. For lunch, I had the Monte Cristo sandwich with fries and a pickle ($13.95). The presentation was great with the sandwich cut into fourths and neatly arranged on the plate. No powdered sugar on this one, but orange marmalade is on the side for dipping. The sandwich was large and filling and I would easily order it again. My wife ordered the chicken pot pie ($16.50 with a choice of 2 sides). The pastry on top was amazingly rich and fluffy and the sauce was very rich. This is a must-order dish! Our kids enjoyed penne pasta and the burger ($7.50 with a choice of fruit, rice, fries, or vegetable). All of our food was good, our service was great, and the view was really amazing! My family has come to the Pisgah Inn for years, as our family lives in Asheville and it's a cherished day outting. We enjoyed a clear day with breathtaking views again. We also appreciate the rhododendron chandeliers, rustic wood chairs and high wood ceiling. What better place for lunch? Our family had one grilled full trout, a gluten free bread blt sandwich, a reuben, and the chicken pot pie. The fish was grilled perfectly and was tasty. The BLT had lots of bacon, tomato was flavorful, and mayo was on the side. The reuben satisfied a family member who grew up eating German reubens. The chicken pot pie comes with a pastry which is delightfully flaky. We all had drinks but skipped appetizers and desserts. The bill was $100 which we found fair. On my last visit I had the trout with mashed potatoes and Brussels sprouts. The trout was well seasoned and had a dob of blueberry butter that complemented the fish well. This review is for the Inn restaurant - which should be avoided! My husband and I came to Asheville on our anniversary vacation. We decided to have a late lunch at the Inn restaurant. We made reservations and we waited about 20 minutes beyond our reservation to be seated. A table was seated immediately before us right by the window. When we were to be seated I asked if we could have a table by the window that was being cleared and we were told by the manager that it needed to be saved for larger parties. No other parties came in to be seated and several other window tables opened up. As we were finishing up lunch and my husband was paying the bill I told the manager that We were very disappointed that no other tables came in to be seated and we were seated right by the kitchen. She was told that if I didn't like the service I could talk to the general manager. Of course I did. However the general manager did absolutely nothing to try and even placate us. She said that the manager probably had a reason for what she did. She also said that they were "no bed tables in the restaurant in terms of view". Maybe not on a clear day but this is the Smokey Mountains at 5 thousand feet elevation, the views are not always clear. She obviously was only going to side with the manager. Another example of horrible customer service - a group of three ladies walked as we were waiting for our table. I don't know what kind of reservation they had (but they had one according to one of them) and the manager said all reservations were up to her to be seated and that they could not be taken. What a joke she is - we were still waiting to be seated AND tables were starting to clear out - no reason they could not have been accommodated. Never have I felt so disrespected by and an inconvenience to the manager at a restaurant before. I went to Waffle House that morning and felt more appreciated there. read more

We went for lunch after visiting the Cradle of Forestry. Should have planned reservations as we had about a 30 minute wait. The staff accommodated us as soon as possible. There was a nice choice of salads. My companion was able to get a grilled Reuben on gluten free bread. Usually gluten free bread doesn't grill too well, but this was tasty, though of course not rye. They had a gluten free pie that they called French silk, although it was more like a flourless chocolate cake. Delicious but rich. We split it among 3, which was wise. Discovered this place last year and stayed a night in April this year (2023). Basic but really cool mote/lodge literally on the Blue Ridge Parkway. All the rooms have patios or balconies facing the mountains - spectacular views and steps away from phenomenal hiking. The lodge restaurant is decent... but you're pretty limited in terms of dining choices because it's 20 minutes plus into town. The lodge store has bottles of wine and bottled beer. Bring that back to your room and enjoy the view. Of note: Restaurant does not have a full bar and when we were there reservations were required for all meals and they were only available for guests. read more

Suffice it to say, you will not find a better view from any room's balcony on the entire planet! You are over 5000' high and right on the edge of the cliff. You'd have to be in heaven looking down to top this, and you will think that you are! Yes, you'll pay for it but it's worth every penny. The lobby, gift shop, and restaurant are excellent as well. Make reservations but that won't guarantee a window table. If you make them at 7:30 for breakfast and 5pm for dinner as soon as they open, get there 5 minutes beforehand and request a window table. You will surely get one. After that, all bets are off. There are beautiful spots behind the restaurant as well with chairs for viewing and several trails to hike. Enjoy! read more

We took a day trip to hike and picnic along Pisgah Forest/Blue Ridge Parkway, but our first stop was at this popular dining destination. Especially during this time of year, it's hard to tag down a reservation. Anyway, I managed to get lucky and tagging a Sunday lunch reservation...and as expected, the place was quite packed considering Covid. And Yes, they were practicing precautions, like masks and socially distanced tables. We've dined here once before a few years ago, and maybe due to the seating changes, the restaurant looked dramatically different...at least to me. Better, I guess? Located right next to the Pisgah Inn, this rustic restaurant is popular due to its scenic views, overlooking the mountains, from its massive windows. For the special ambiance alone, I'd have to give it 4 stars. The view is actually even better once you step outside the restaurant, but for some reason, this restaurant does not have patio dining. Guess they feel it's unnecessary given its massive windows? BTW, adjacent to the restaurant, there's also a gift shop and cafe...some good souvenirs, as well as necessary items. ANYWAY, the menu is fairly straight-forward American (Southern American). I ordered Chicken Pot Pie, and my husband ordered Trout...which includes 2 sides. We also ordered a small side of soup, and a Blackberry Cobbler. Here's my quick summary...Good, fluffy pastry on the Chicken Pot Pie and good presentation, but a bit too bland for my liking. My husband really enjoyed his Trout...the impressive part being this unusual Blueberry Butter topping. We liked our soups too...my husband more so than me. I thought my Pumpkin flavored soup was also too bland. The best part for me was their dessert. SO DEE-Lish!! My only issue with that is that the presentation was quite weak... In fact, you couldn't even see the Blackberries since they were all buried on the bottom...the dessert looked nearly White on White. Still, we came to a verdict that the food was pretty good. Not amazing by any means, but solid...which was more than I expected. Besides, we came for the view more than anything. BTW, the service was very friendly...and our foods came out piping hot fairly quickly. We didn't get the window seating (which again, is quite competitive)...but as it turned out, it might not have been a good thing since the sun shone so brightly on the tables by the window. I would have melted!! Overall, we had a great, relaxing dining experience...and will most definitely return. In fact, we decided to book a stay at the Pisgah Inn itself this time, next year to enjoy more of the amazing views, the restaurant, and the hiking. read more

We treated ourselves to a romantic staycation for our 3 year wedding anniversary. The dinner and staff were exceptional and we were able to bring the bottle of wine we had with dinner back to our room, which featured very comfortable bed and rustic decor. We literally relaxed for hours on our balcony and watched the magnificent mountain views magically transform before us. A stay at the Pisgah Inn may become an annual tradition! read more

Date of visit: October 2, 2020 I want to give this place a 10 for the view, but for the restaurant...a 3. I ordered a French Onion soup to share with my hubby...that was really good. But I ordered a simple BLT sandwich. It honestly was the most disappointing BLT I have ever eaten. How does one mess up a BLT?? There were literally 2 pieces of bacon on the sandwich!!! There was one slice of tomato on each half...it was an out of season tomato...very pale in color with no taste. One piece of lettuce on bread and hardly any mayo. My hubby got the meat loaf platter. He enjoyed it, but again has had better. We are glad that we visited as it as has always been on my places to visit. We loved the gift shop and the view. read more

This is for the restaurant. I'm sorry no photos of the food. We dug right in as it was so delicious! This is another place I can't believe I've never reviewed! I've been coming here since 2011 and this has been a must eat every time we come up to the mountains. The view itself is worth coming in. Due to Covid they are now taking reservations and they have limited the seating but this has not changed the food or the service in any way. The service here is top notch and our waitress this time did not disappoint at all. She was on top of things the entire visit. Over the years I've had their Trout which came with a blueberry butter and it was fantastic, I've had their Fried Chicken, the Pulled Pork which is really good, and this time I went with the Monte Cristo Sandwich. Again this was delicious! We usually get the French Silk Pie which for me is to die for! If you are in the area make sure to stop in. You will be happy you did. Also I have stayed at the hotel. I was put in one of their newly renovated rooms and the stay was really nice! read more
