This was fun, but probably not for the price. A group of us purchased VIP tickets, which included the dinner, an ornament, 2 drink tickets, a photo op, a tour of the museum, and VIP seating near the stage. The tickets were over $300 each, so keep that in mind as I list the pros and cons: Pros: -The entertainment was great! The singers, Frank Sinatra impersonators, and the orchestras were all amazing, and I loved it. -There were some pretty decent scenes for taking photos. I appreciated their Christmas story setup in the front. -The museum tour was nice. One of the volunteers was very knowledgable and passionate, he spent an hour taking us through all of the planes in the museum. I only wish he'd had a microphone, because we were going through all the same places that the other guests were, and especially near the stage, it was hard to hear him if you weren't standing very close. Cons: -Highly disorganized. We had to go back to the front twice, once because they didn't give us a VIP bracelet, and another because they didn't give us the drink or meal tickets that come with it. The VIP booth up front was using a list with names to check people in, and they almost didn't give us our ornaments because 2 people in our group checked in first, and they thought they had given all the ornaments in our group to those two people. They didn't have our table seat written down (we did though with our tickets), and they didn't know who was giving the museum tour. Seats at the tables weren't reserved, even though the tickets said that they were. There was a Christmas market that was scattered towards the back, and I felt bad for the vendors because half of them were in a well-trafficked area, and the other half were in the very back, and I would have had NO idea they were there if I hadn't done the museum tour. There was no signage that I could see letting people know that there were additional vendors. The balloons didn't drop at the New Year's toast, which was hilarious, but also probably avoidable. -Very crowded. Not necessarily the number of people, but just the layout. The VIP tables were set VERY close to each other, with 12 seats at each circular table, so we were sitting elbow to elbow with other people that we didn't know. Trying to navigate between the tables to get to your seat was difficult without asking people to move. There were very long lines to get into the building, to check into the VIP area (likely because of the above), to take photos, to get drinks, to get food, etc. Lots of lines and narrow walking paths. -Food was not worth the price. I see that the value of the meal is about $60--for that, you get ONE paper plate full of food through a buffet-style line that includes turkey, sirlon, mashed potatoes, green beans, cranberry sauce, rolls, and a salad. Dessert was a small mousse cup or a gingerbread cookie, but those were gone by 7pm. The food was okay, but not anywhere close to $60 per plate. This isn't on the event, because I looked at Biscuits and Berries' catering cost, and these meals were charged at cost. I'd recommend a different catering company! -A lot of the features were overhyped. For example, the "free swing dance lesson" was a brief, 15 minute takeover of the stage by Mercury Cafe to teach every person who was on the dance floor a quick choreography. Fun, and a great advertisement for the business, but certainly not a dance lesson! The "Charles Dickens town" was a small fire pit outside the entrance with two classic cars parked, and the horse carriage ride was through the parking lot. The "Santa village" was a VERY small area amongst the planes with a narrow walking space to see Santa and take a photo with him. I believe that this isn't the regular venue where this event happens, and maybe they had trouble fitting everything into the space they had, but I do believe that with some better organization they could have made it work. TL;DR: They had some really great things that were overshadowed by the high price and lack of organization. read more

Everything from start to finish was very well handled and flowed smoothly. There was so many fun things to do also. The venue was inside the Wings over the Rockies Air and Space Museum and everything was brilliant. The dance floor was large and everybody had a swinging good time rocking out to the many band that belted out hit after hit. The food was sparse but well prepared and delicious. The drink were also well prepared( dependent on who mixed your drinks) and even the sleigh ride was pleasant thanks to ole mother nature. We even had free pictures taken with Santa! I enjoyed how mostly everybody was dressed in 1940s style costumes, it really added to the excitement and gave the whole event an overall whimsical enjoyment. One special note was how they had special props set up that you could take pictures in front of and one of them was a Christmas tree that had a Red Ryder BB gun and a leg lamp from the movie "A Christmas Story " set up next to it. A trip back in time was night to remember. From entering the ball you were welcomed by friendly staff all dresses up in 1940s etire. Having a picture with Santa was complimentary. Great set up of different activities from roulette to black jack. Different standing posters of old stars you could take pictures with even a mini set from a Christmas Story that was a popular picture spot. All of the different displays form the wings over the rockies where this wonderful event was held. Event was very well organized. The bathroom lines were long even though they tried to use both sets of bathrooms up stairs and down. Men and women were sharing since they were set up for both. Had a great night of music,fun and food. Enjoyed the themed drinks as well. read more

Dont waste your money here. Tickets are extremely expensive and what you get isn't worth it. I guess they aren't at WINGS Over the Rockies anymore because this is a loud and messy crowd and they destroy exhibits and the "New" venue this year was in a small hanger, a narrow corner of another hangar and a drafty cold old tent where all the general admission ticket "guests" could go sit and eat. Line to the bathroom was long and people had to go outside. Because there was ONE indoor bathroom for that many people our outdoor Portpotties outside with no hand sanitizer. There was one bus to take you almost a mile away to your car or youd get towed for parking at the airport itself and we got yelled at for trying to look for parking spot a little closer. Cash only for drinks?!!!! But you had to buy a ticket first. and there was no ATM we could find until we left it was outside. So we spent the cash we did have on a couple bottles of water and a soda that was all ice, and only had a couple drinks and the Beer was cheap and nasty! All around the bar it was slick and et from ice water. Nobody could get close to the stage. The entertainment was ok. Except for Elvis and Austin Powers music at a 1940s ball, why I dont know. We got tired of it and decided to just leave early. That way we didn't have to wait in a line for the bus in the cold and smell the weed from outside. This is supposedly a nonprofit but it feels like it is a rip-off and the money doesnt even go to veterans or veteran charities. I looked this year and it goes to some 10th mountain division to pay for maintenance of huts for skiers and mountain hikers and some farm? Does not help veterans. I kept hearing about veterans veterans the greatest generation the whole time I was there and didn't see very many this time or how this event is about them. read more

A total waste of money. Tickets are incredibly expensive not worth it. This event was previously at the Wings over the Rockies, but this event was disinvited and I can see why. This year was in a cold hangar with one bathroom and port a potties for a winter event??? No place to sit and from the time we tried to get in, it was obvious that there was no security or organization. Pot smoking at the door, vomit on the floor, it was no fun. People were going outside... I can't imagine with the vendors who paid to be there think. People were going around barriers ON AN AIRPORT and even taking pictures of planes that were not part of the event (private jets). Parking was a joke and the shuttle was even worse. It was obvious that this event was oversold. Not sure what the cash only thing was about either. Supposedly this event of for veterans. They said it was a non-profit for them, but it looks like a money maker for the organizer, not the veterans. I didn't even see any there, just drunkin re-enactors. Also, can't find anything about what they actually "give" to veterans. For what it cost it should be a lot to the vets. I would not recommend this event to anyone, especially veterans. Don't waste your money or your time, especially waiting for a shuttle in the cold... Also might mention that the organizer has taken down or deleted any real reviews on FB and even on Yelp. A must... Simply the best 40s event on the planet.. from the Band's to the reanactors. A night filled with action..

A logistical disaster. Not nearly enough seating for the general admission crowd. Many people saved seats (folding chairs) at the cafeteria-style tables, leaving other guests with plates of food and nowhere to sit or eat. Food & drink venues were at opposite side of event floor from general admission seating & dining, which required guests to carry food and drink through and/or around dance floor which was in front of the stage. Four VIP guests (friends, one of which is a WW II vet) bought tickets 2 months prior to the event but did not have a table assigned--event staff had to find a table and chairs, and squeeze them in around those already there.
