But they totally missed a growing cavity under a filling, to such a degree that the tooth had to be removed. It was the first tooth I have ever lost, because I take good care of them, or thought I did. What was annoying was that when I asked to see the x-ray from the prior year, it was visible on that x-ray. From across the room. So that cost me nearly $1000 and some pain. I now go to another dentist who does a very thorough job. The problem with this practice may be that new dentists are rotated through by the main dental practice in Saratoga. Sink or swim. I've given birth to 4 human beings, and still the dentist office scares me more. Its a legitimate problem. After a horrendous experience a few years ago at Aspen Dental (dont ever go there!), I found Dr. Milza! He's amazing, and so is his staff. He's fast and friendly and kind and gentle. He treats everyone like a person, with feelings. And is so sincere. I actually stopped taking my children to the pediatric dentist and now they all go to Dr. Milza and really do love going. I think that it's a combination of drinking fluorinated water, getting fluoride treatments as a kid, brushing/flossing regularly and yes...some luck. I've never had a cavity in spite of some lapses in my getting cleanings over the years. Now that I am a little bit older, I try to keep up with it. I have been visiting a different location (same practice) in the area, however, Heather...the dental hygienist...also works out of this office. I basically follow Heather wherever she goes. Earlier this week I had my overdue appointment for a cleaning and, as always, Heather did a marvelous job. I don't have the fear of dentists that many others do... simply because I have never had a cavity (nor any major dental work ...with the exception of having my wisdom teeth removed a long, long time ago). When I met the dentist herself... I believe it was Dr. Smith... I was very happy with her expertise and approach. I had to go back for a brief visit the following day for a preventative procedure and even that was a good experience. They are very serious about Covid protocols which makes me very comfortable/happy. This particular office is actually much more convenient to where I live, so I plan on making this my primary dentist location moving forward. I highly recommend.

Teeth always bothered me afterwards. All the pinhole cavities always involved over drilling and weakening tooth structure to breakage at which point crowns were then needed.
