The office staff is very kind, knowledgeable and effient. They were able to contact my insurance and get it set for the end of the year. Dr Melissa Pysnak is all of the above and much much more. I have never been in the hands of such a superior, remarkable and outstanding dentist. She is a patient and truly caring and kind person. My tooth was a two hour proceedure that was completed by Dr. Pysnak and the very competent medical staff. This was done with NO pain during or after the proceedure while I was watching My Greek Wedding on a overhead TV. I am overwhelmed wth gratitude for them. If you are looking for this kind of care look no further. Give them a call.

I have never written one of these before but had to. she bullied us into pano X-rays before and now tried to force us to do check up X-rays on my daughter who is in braces and just had some at the orthodontist. yes different kinds of X-rays but the ortho told us this would be okay for this year. so I said no X-rays and then she said well we cannot clean her teeth then. she has been seen every couple months by the ortho who would have seen something and she had her wires in. I might have given in but she was so so rude about it. she was also the one who forced us to do panos and said they can see cavities with them. but then why can they not use the pano the ortho did to detect X-rays. seems to me we were lied to in getting the pano. hi h was also the visit they didn't even have a dentist at all because he moved and the new one was there yet. so we felt like they needed to generate more money so forced the pano which is more expensive. her reasoning like I said was oh we can detect cavities and other things. so again why could our that they made money off of detect cavities but not the ones the ortho did. Her demeaning attitude and blasé care of us when I said we will be leaving the practice then said it all. oh and I was a dental assistant for 15 years so it isn't like I am stupid to dental needs. I get Idaho has something where you have to have them yearly but my daughter did have them. so bottom line I do not recommend this office because of the manager. that and every time I had a dental cleaning and I set mine up six months in advance I would be told they didn't have a hygienist that day and they didn't even try to make it work on a day I could do. then I finally did a date that wasn't good for me and got cancelled on again.

We were not notified of the business change. Throughout this experience, I never even got to see or meet the new dentist. When my wife and I went in for one of the two cleanings per year under our plan in the middle of June 2022, they did panoramic xrays and then got right into measuring gums and did a full mouth debridement (extremely uncomfortable). After having this done they stated my gums were at a 4 or 5 and I needed to come in 3-4 times per year in order to keep my gums from deteriorating. The prior dentist would tell me during each visit, "Everything looks good. Continue doing what you're doing." Needless to say, I was shocked at the sudden turn of my dental health. During the cleaning, the hygienist told me my insurance was one of the best out there and would be good to cover most, if not all the costs. I received the bill for our routine cleanings and was charged nearly $200. We are still working out the billing. There was no notice that extra services would be performed and therefore would present extra costs. I was expecting to have a routine cleaning covered by insurance and now they are upselling and upcharging people without notice. Be weary of this business as they seem like the type of business to find any possible way to get money out of you in the name of "highest standard of care."

My insurance covered for cleaning 3 times per year, they continued to have me come back every 4…read moremonths, when I requested id prefer to come just twice a year I was told I had periodontal disease (gum disease ) and needed to do every 4 months (first time of hearing this). Also everytime I came in they tried to get me to buy a electric toothbrush, (they sell them) they did this to my wife also. They even tried to get me to agree on getting Invisalign, I'm 70 years old I don't need that. They canceled appointments twice the day before my appointment, so that's when I figured I'd find someone else. Update; I have a found new dentist and I'm very happy... I was told my gums were find, was told I have small decay starting that needed taken care of. ( this should have been found at my last appointment when HDD had me in for a cleaning.

I've had one visit and the people were very friendly. The front desk and getting checked in was a very good experience and she was quite lovely. I felt I got good care although I felt I did need to advocate for myself on a few minor things. I didn't want them polishing my teeth before the hygienist had completed her scaling. It is not a good practice to polish teeth before all the plaque has been removed. They have quite a few staff members that do different things. They have two hygienist and then they have assistance that do the polishing. You can request having one person do the scaling and the polishing, but they can only accommodate that on certain days due to the lack of staffing?? So for my next visit, I will have one person do it all. They were quite accommodating. I think I'm scheduled with a different dentist for my next visit. I think I will see her and see how I like her. She is newer in her career, but I feel I might like to give her a shot. The jury is still out for me. I'll update in 6 months.

Like everything else, the cost of dental care keeps rising and locally with the influx of people there seems to be a shortage of available dentists, too. When I found Birchwood (through reviews and their online site), they had a waiting list. On the list I went and only had to wait a few months. Located in a small strip mall, it's easy to miss, but very close to my home. Been there twice for x-rays and cleanings. Evan was my hygenists both times and he does an excellent job. I love the tv screen on the ceiling as they play netflix's Moving Art. The images are immersive and relaxing. So much so, I started playing it at home. It had been ages since a dentist had checked my teeth at my previous dentist office as he would not be in the office on a regular basis and you had to make a separate appointment from cleaning just to have him check your teeth for a few minutes. Dr. Holdaway checked my teeth at the end of each cleaning. Everyone I encountered is friendly and professional from start to finish. Lucky to find this group.
