The quality of the work was good, but we have grave concerns about movers' response to a covid-related request from a customer service standpoint. We are currently in a time where covid is heavily on the rise due to the delta variant, even among vaccinated people. I have a 96 year-old grandmother with lung issues who I regularly see, so my partner and I have resumed our use of masks while indoors with others to protect her. We politely asked the movers to wear masks, explaining the situation, and each of them brushed off the request claiming it's not even an option and they refuse to wear them while working. We pleaded with them several times, and each time they harshly shut it down without even discussing or trying to find a solution. I provided various suggestions (e.g., only wearing masks inside with the air turned up high, and then taking them off outside), and admittedly became frustrated with their refusal to honor a request that is by no means unreasonable in the middle of a pandemic. When I mentioned that this would be reflected in a review, they then threatened to cancel the move (not just threatened, but began initiating the process of cancelling, again without any discussion). We had no other options and needed to move on that day, and they were well aware of the fact that we were completely powerless and would have been screwed. Somehow we ended up begging them to stay and rescinding our request for them to wear masks. I spent the entire time feeling anxious about exposure, especially knowing they don't mask anywhere and are in direct contact with different people as a part of their job every day. As mentioned above, there were no issues with the move itself. They worked quickly, and nothing to our knowledge was damaged. However, we were pretty outraged with everything that had transpired, and tipped less than we normally would have for this reason (it was still an adequate tip, just less). The person we paid then reprimanded us and complained about the value of the tip. We explained why it was lower than it otherwise would have been, and he continued to challenge us. It felt incredibly unprofessional and confrontational. I'm still shocked that in the middle of a pandemic, they refused to honor our requests to wear masks. It's not a political issue or a matter of opinion about masks; the company is providing a service, and as such, they should be open to accommodating or compromising, even if it's not their preference. And all that was just amplified by the threat to cancel and complaints about the tip. read more

I cannot say enough positive things about 1st Moving Corp. My husband and i moved over the weekend of August 27th and they were a breeze to set up. Vlad was very responsive and provided a reasonable quote. They showed up on the 28th right on time and immediately got to work. They were very fast and efficient and in no time at all had moved everything into the truck. Our new home is only 10 minutes away from our old one and they immediately started moving everything inside. Not a single item was damaged and we could not believe how quickly they got everything moved. It was one of those situations where you don't want to talk about how well things are going because you are afraid you might jinx it! When it came time to pay the bill, it came to almost half of what they quoted us! Moving is a pain but Vlad and his crew made it a pleasant experience and we gladly tipped them nicely. Vlad from 1st Moving just finished my move He and another man cane aNd arrived early. They cane prepared to wrap my furniture carefully They boxed up my TVs with care. All furniture was wrapped and taped and carefully taken down to the truck. I moved from a 9th fl condo to a 2nd fl apartment. They arrived before noon and were finished at 3:00. No hidden charges. Estimate was right on. The move went smoothly without any problems. Both movers were very nice and courteous. The price was reasonable. I can not say enough good things about Vlad. This guys did a great job, were very fast, my 2 bedroom apartment was moved into storage in under well under 3 hours. The minimum is similar to other movers, but they also charge $120 transport tariff. travel time is still charged separately. They did do a great job and were very friendly and kept me in the loop with everything as it happened, had me confirm things the should take/leave. Like others before they start they ask for a 20% tip at job's end (which is high) BUT they all say its a recommendation and completely voluntary. I thought they did great and were fast so I gave them just over 20%, I thought they'd be thrilled tbut instead they asked to make it 25%, which I didn't do. They really are good, kind,fast I wouldn't hesitate using them again for a big move. The minimum you pay is $540 plus tip for 3 men 3 hours. $120 for each hour after. read more

Used Vlad's crews twice within 2 weeks. First to move a large bedroom set from Teaneck to new home in Manalapan and second to move our entire house. The first crew did mention tips as the others stated but but Vlad straightened that out and discounted the second move. Luckily I had no issues with any damage or speed of the workers. Beware and supervise! We used these movers twice. First time excellent. The second time had a different crew. We were trusting because of great first experience. After tipping each of the workers (3) $100 each, I went into my dresser drawer looking for a "hidden box," of sentimental jewelry. A diamond ring and necklace from my grandmother. Box was there...pieces gone! I called immediately ... owner said he'd get back to me after looking into it. Next day, "No sorry we didn't find it. The guys feel terrible now because you tipped them so well." My fault...forgot to remove before moving. But totally devastated...two pieces one from each grandmother given on my wedding day! The only reason I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5 was because the movers almost demanded tips before and after the job. Just kept mentioning that they would appreciate 50 dollars each. Other then that they were quick, careful, and price was lower then quoted. I would definitely use them again. read more

SCAMMERS! All the bad reviews are true. We relocated from New York City; so beware of that location in particular. Packers look and act like they were all paroled the day before they start. My items which cost in the neighborhood of $3,000 were stolen. Lots ends up broken, bent, damaged. They underestimate during quote and cause further delays and costs. They do EVERYTHING possible to escape the responsibility of any issue. Claim for damage and missing items took four months to get response. Although they have insurance in place, the company blames the movers, who they claim are contractors (not employees) and the movers blame the company and you lose as a poor customer. read more

Had a very complicated 2-day move on March 12 & 13, 2017. Our house full of furniture was going to relatives in 6 separate locations - five in NJ (Jackson, Freehold, Manalapan, Wall and Neptune) and one in PA (Douglassville). I was given a quote and that's what I paid - no add-ons, no gimmicks, no nothing but GREAT service. They arrived early on both days, packed two trucks each day, and delivered everything in a professional manner. Everything was properly wrapped and the guys all worked hard and carefully. We have very expensive, cared-for, and in some cases BIG and HEAVY furniture. Everything arrived at their destinations in perfect condition. This is the EIGHTH move in my lifetime and by far, the VERY BEST. I would highly recommend Vlad and his team. They do things the right way. read more

You absolutely get what you pay for and cannot go wrong in turning to Vlad and his crew to move you wherever your going. Our move was on October Wednesday 18, 2017. They arrived early at 8 AM sharp even though Vlad had stated they'd be arriving between 8:30 - 9:00 AM. We rented a Uhaul truck ourselves to move our two fish tanks and fish. They also helped us with moving both tanks/stands. Expertly wrapped them and secured them inside our truck. Everything we had them move was in perfect condition hence nothing damaged nor broken. Our move started at 8 AM and finished around 7 PM. We had an hour and fifteen minute drive to our new Home in south jersey. And we also had two black labs we were traveling with as well. Don't look any further nor spend another minute searching for the right movers. Because you've found them. Vlad and his crew are it! The crew we had attending to our move consisted of Alex, Vlad, and Tim and they were fantastic across the board!
