Sadly, I cannot recommend WG Moving & Storage. On the 7th of September I received an email (a mass email) stating my items may have been damaged by Hurricane Ida while stored in White Glove's facility. Hurricane Ida hit NJ/NY on the 1st, why the delay? Immediately, I reached out to WG for clarification and details. The information provided to me was extremely vague, and there was conflicting information given. Initially, I was told remediation services were underway and the wet items were being repackaged. Only I was informed by another WG employee that they were not, in fact, repacking wet items. They were, instead, removing wet blankets and wet cardboard as that is all they were permitted to do. Well, it turns out they DID repackage many of my items. However, they were repackaged WET (the items were not dried out prior to repacking them) and put in a garbage bag, tied up, then sealed in a box. Needless to say, it was the perfect environment for mold and mildew to develop and ruin these items. Many of the items ruined are irreplaceable - family heirlooms, vintage clothing, artwork from around the world, antique books, journals I've kept throughout the years, photo albums, etc. Attempting to get clarification as to the extent of the damage was impossible. Photographs of the damage to the facility were requested at the behest of my insurance company in order to file a claim. WG Moving & Storage refused to send photos after multiple requests which has since created an unnecessary obstacle with my insurance company. I would have gladly flown from MI to NJ to go to the storage facility in an attempt to salvage as many of my cherished pieces as possible (a headboard made by my grandfather who is now deceased, quilting by my great-grandmother who is deceased, heirloom furniture pieces from my grandmother who recently passed away in July, a beautiful saree trunk containing sarees given to me by special people throughout the years, etc). My offer was denied as I was informed there was a 2 week waiting period to gain access to my items. Due to a lack of cohesive communication, and in an attempt to mitigate damage, I even resorted to sending a friend (who lives in the area) to the facility. He was turned away and told he needed to make an appointment - the next of which was later the following week. Rather than let the items sit an addition 1+ week, I opted to have the items shipped to me so I could begin the recovery process as soon as possible. I repeatedly inquired as to the extent of the damage, and my concern was ignored. Had I been informed as to the extent of the damage, I never would have paid thousands of dollars to receive an abundance of toxic moldy and mildewy items to my elderly parents' house. Plus, to see these beloved pieces destroyed was heartbreaking. Sadly, the only empathy I was shown was from the wonderfully kind and compassionate driver and his assistant. They treated me like a human being, unlike upper management who treated me as though I was inconveniencing them. There was even a refusal by upper management to speak with my father, even though he is listed as a customer on the Bill of Lading, based solely on the fact he is an attorney. (Are they afraid of something?) Furthermore, multiple phone calls and emails went unanswered. To add insult to injury, there seemed to be a refusal to meaningfully reduce the shipping charges to MI as I had originally engaged their services for a transcontinental move (Boston, MA to Vancouver, WA). I was offered a 10% discount by them to drive to MI rather than WA even though MI is 2,000 miles less than the distance from NJ to WA. Yes, I understand Hurricane Ida was a devastating natural disaster. It has upended the lives of many. However, the attitude displayed by WG Management during this difficult time seemed to be one of self-absorption with minimizing their financial exposure with no understanding or compassion for one who has lost cherished items and nearly all earthly possessions. In February, I decided that I was going to move from Danbury, CT to South Florida in late April. I started researching moving companies and saw and read many negative reviews about various movers. Then I found White Glove Moving & Storage (located in NJ) and read many positive reviews. I know most people go on the internet to write negative reviews about items, companies, etc but it was refreshing to see some nice, happy moving stories. I gave WG a call and spoke with Frank. We went over every room in my townhouse and all the items that I was moving to FL. I would pack my personal items. I just needed WG to protect the furniture and move it all down to FL. I received a binding quote for the Silver package which was right around the amount I was expecting. I had called several other movers for estimates and their quotes were all based on weight and some were way too little and some were ridiculously too high. I received the binding estimate via email, and after reviewing it, I provided a $500 deposit to confirm my move date. About a week before moving day, I received a call from WG. I was provided a pickup time from 10a-12n. Also, payment options were discussed. I chose to pay via cashier's check in order to receive a 3% discount. On moving day, a team of four guys (Vince was in charge) showed up about 20 minutes earlier than the stated pickup time, which was great. The movers wrapped all my furniture in blankets, used boxes to protect the furniture, and also used plastic wrap. It was way more than I expected. They loaded all my boxes and furniture on the truck and the whole move took around 4 hours. I was very happy with the guys and how professional and careful they were with my items. About a week later (Friday), I got a call from WG narrowing down my delivery date from 10 days to 7 days. Two days later, I get a call from the truck driver informing me that he would be at my new home on Monday between 2-6p. I thought this is awesome since was on the first day of my delivery window. On Monday morning, the driver calls me and says he will at my house around 11a. This is great. They would get my stuff to me three hours early. The truck shows up with two people. I provide the driver with a cashiers check before they will start to unload the truck. We do a walkthrough of the house and I show them where my furniture and boxes will go. The guys do an excellent job placing my furniture in the rooms where I wanted it. They assemble my bedroom, dining room and kitchen tables. The move took about 5 hours. All of my furniture and boxes arrived. Nothing was missing. Again, I am extremely happy with White Glove and how professional and careful they were with my furniture and moving boxes. Two weeks after my furniture is delivered, I get a call from WG asking me how everything went and if I needed to file a claim for any damaged or missing items. I let them know that I was very happy with the move and I only had some minor damage to an Ikea file cabinet. I filed claim over the phone and it was approved immediately. In summary, after doing a lot of research on moving companies and reading many horror stories about big and small moving companies, I am so glad I found White Glove Moving & Storage. I am so glad they do binding estimates based on the amount of items you have and not based on weight. As long as you are honest and truthful about the items you have, your moving quote will not change. The communication and professionalism of their employees is outstanding. We are very pleased with the service that White Glove Moving provided. They moved the contents of our 5 bedroom home into storage carefully and professionally. We researched 8 different moving companies and are fortunate to have chosen White Glove. The deciding factor guiding our choice of movers had much to do with the estimator from White Glove who came to our home, Ralph. He was very courteous and professional but most importantly he had extensive experience doing the actual moving labor like packing, loading, unloading, assembly, etc. His estimation of labor hours, packing materials and storage space needed was perfect. Therefore, not only was the White Glove estimate lower than most of the other estimates we received, but it left no room for "surprise" additional costs at the end, like many others had. Next we spoke with Arthur at the White Glove office to schedule and book the move. Arthur was very patient and informative, taking care to answer all of the many questions I had, reassuring me of this company's experience and professionalism. A few days before the move we received a call from Sam at White Glove to confirm the move date and other details. In the meantime, Ralph and Arthur were continually available to us whenever we had questions. Approaching moving day we had no concerns, convinced we chose the right company to handle our antiques, fragile items and all the things in our home representing 40 years of family memories. The first moving day went perfectly. The moving team consisted of a foreman, Ali, and four other men, Arsenio, Max, Ferhit and Jack. All of them were incredibly hard working, stopping only briefly to quench their thirst during a very hot and humid pair of days. Ali coordinated everything, assigning tasks and performing some of the more complicated packing jobs. Max carefully packaged our most fragile crystal, china and collectibles. Arsenio expertly loaded, organized and packed the trailer truck. Ferhit, Jack and Ali efficiently brought all of the contents from the house to the truck, including about 150 boxes of items. It was impressive to watch Ferhit and Jack carry so many boxes, many of them full of books, so quickly, carefully and efficiently. Everyone did a phenomenal job. The second moving day went perfectly. The same moving team met us at the storage facility 2 hours south. Arsenio expertly maneuvered the tractor/trailer right next to the door leading to our storage unit and the team began unloading all of the contents immediately. While Arsenio brought things to the back of the truck, Ali, Jack and Ferhit transported them inside the facility where Max was waiting to expertly organize and pack them into the storage unit. Everything was done in quick order, professionally, carefully with no problems, dropped or damaged items. To top it all off, we received a refund check in the mail for about 16% of the original estimate! Ralph told me if the estimate turned out to be high, we would get money back, and he was right. Some of the refunded costs probably had to do with additional preparation we did before White Glove arrived; boxing many of the items and bringing most of the boxes to the first floor near the front door. However I am sure much of the savings is due to how quickly and efficiently the moving team was. We could not be more pleased. We highly recommend White Glove Moving and plan to use them again in November when we move our items from storage into our new home. read more

Update: I immediately received a call back after this posting. Mark Sahni listened to my whole story and provided all possible support that is possible. She also explained the reason for some of the confusions which made sense with their perspective. She was open to some of my suggestions as well. I really appreciate the value they are giving to customer feedback.They assured that they are making improvements in their process to avoid a repeat of the experience I had. Bumping up to 3 starts for their immediate response and valuing the customer feedback. --- Poor customer service and worst experience. I was moving my 1 BR apartment. I used their service only because their name was referenced in my company's website. But the whole experience was bad. 1. They gave me a quote that was higher in price compared to my colleagues' who were having more stuff and longer delivery distance. 2. They never informed about 18 wheeler trucks. I had mover twice earlier and both of them user big trucks but not 18 wheeler. And due to trees in my community their truck couldn't come in. So I had to pay $300 extra for the Uhaul. And I was informed about this charge after they loaded everything into the truck.And the sales guy (Frank) tells me that it's part of the agreement contract and also he tried to justify by telling that for my stuff they need that bug truck. But when they know that they use 18 wheeler and these kind of things happen, they are still not telling us. And my whole stuff fitted into 1 Uhal truck. So why do I need 18 wheeler?? Also the delivery was to an high raise apartment and I was told that they will charge $300 if they truck cannot for in. I had to make sure that everything is fine for their truck. 3. The worst of all is the guys who talk on phone are not connected at all. I had demanded a specific date range for the delivery and since that was suiting their timing they agreed. But it was all verbal. So after I signed the papers, the next person calls and tell me that it's 7 business day policy. And when I told him about my previous arrangement, he is asking for proof. I felt betrayed. There is no trust factor with these guys. After lot of arguments, he put me on hold. After 20 mins someone picked up the call and asking 'How may I help you'. So I again explain her everything. Then she put me on hold. This repeated with 5 people. I was so frustrated but helpless. Finally one lady picked and after arguments, she pointed that I have signed documents and agreed for their timing. I mentioned about my previous discussion. So she asked me the phone number of the person I spoke. And after speaking to that person, she confirmed that it was mistake from their side. 4. Also there was damage to my office desk but I just wanted to get over with these guys. Overall they try to talk good before business and then send long agreement document. It's better to understand those (take help from someone with legal understanding) else you will be trapped. I had more tension talking to the guys than getting my stuffs. They also told me that they will open a complaint for my case to help me but no news after delivery. I heard that my other colleagues also had similar experience. Not recommend!! read more

ABSOLUTELY WITHOUT A DOUBT USE WHITE GLOVE MOVING & STORAGE I just moved from a large single family home to a 2 bedroom apartment locally in NJ and was extremely pleased with White Glove Moving & Storage and the entire moving process. From the sales representative, Zee, who came to the house for a visual assessment & organized both moves, to the moving team headed up by Rafi, I could not have asked for a better experience. I actually had 2 moves, one for the furniture/household items going to the apartment and the second for the bulk of the house going into storage. Zee was thorough, available via email/text and answered all my questions promptly. He explained everything the moves would entail from the number of men needed, to the amount of packing materials necessary, to insurance issues. He was honest, helpful and most importantly put my mind at ease. He made sure that this very stressful situation ran smoothly and efficiently. The prices quoted (one for the apartment move, one for storage move) were reasonable and I was not hit with any unexpected charges the day of either move. Both moves were handled professionally, the crew was polite, friendly, and extremely careful with all my household items. With both moves, the crew arrived when they said they would, smiles on their faces and willing to do what was asked of them. They took great care with every single item, whether a fragile crystal vase or a large bulky piece of furniture. Everything was wrapped appropriately in blankets, shrink-wrapped, or boxed and I'm happy to report that all items delivered to the apartment arrived in perfect condition! Nothing scratched, broken or destroyed. The foreman of both crews, Rafi, was amazing. He listened carefully, was friendly and obviously experienced with his job. He got along great with his crew and was patient & helpful with me when I had questions/concerns regarding items. With both moves, the men moved quickly and efficiently and were able to complete the job in a timely fashion. Always smiling, always polite and always willing to help make this experience a pleasant one for me. Once the truck arrived at the apartment, a second floor walk up, Rafi and the crew assessed the best way to deal with the stairs (and the icy snow on the ground!) and make the apartment my new home. Without hesitation, they began to bring items into the apartment, asking where to place things and happily moving large pieces of furniture, even inches, to make sure everything was where I wanted it to go. They didn't leave until we did a final walk through and I was pleased! Being an army brat, I've moved many times & I must say this was a much better experience than I ever could have hoped for. I can honestly say I have no complaints with the service, response, or staff of White Glove. From my experience, this is a very professional, reputable moving company and I would highly recommend them to anyone needing a company they can trust and feel good about handling their household move. The White Glove team was very professional, maintained open lines of communication was easy to work with throughout the process from initial contact, to on-site estimate, scheduling, packing/loading and deliveries to two homes. My initial contact was with George who became my primary contact throughout my interactions with White Glove. George scheduled our on-site visual estimate. The on-site visual estimate was performed by Omar at our home in Totowa NJ. We explained that some of the furniture would not be needed and we would donate it, approximately 1/3 of the furniture contents would be going to our daughter's home in Oak Ridge NJ and the remainder of the furniture would go to our new home in Wharton NJ. Omar did a walk-thru, put together a complete inventory/estimate including full packing services, reviewed it with us and submitted it to us via email. The following day George called and reviewed the details of the estimate and our projected move schedule. A contract was agreed to that I was able to sign electronically. A few days later boxes and packing tape were delivered to our home. Unfortunately our closing schedule encountered a change which required rescheduling with White Glove. Arthur and George handled the change quickly which required adding a day to the move and an overnight charge and travel time, which I agreed to and again signed electronically. On the scheduled day the trailer and 4 man team arrived at our Totowa home prior to 9AM. Adam (the supervisor) and the team did a walk-thru and began the packing and loading process. The team worked quickly, communicated effectively and handled the entire packing and loading process efficiently and with professionalism. We were off to the afternoon closing of our old home and the following morning closing of our new home. At 3PM that day the trailer and team arrived at our new Wharton home as scheduled, did an orientation walk-thru and began the unloading and unpacking process. Again the team communicated effectively, worked efficiently and exhibited professionalism. When everything was in-place Adam asked me to inspect all the items ... there was no damage. Then it was on to our daughter's home in Oak Ridge where they repeated the process of walk-thru, unload, unpack, place and inspect and again, no damage. White Glove handled every aspect of our move treating our family (and possessions) like their own. My compliments to the entire White Glove team that handled our move ... they are the best! I just used White Glove Moving to complete a move within Hoboken, and had a fantastic experience from my initial contact with the front office to when the last box was delivered off of the truck. Communication: - 10/10! I initially reached out with a website inquiry, and received a call back within a couple of hours. I gave them my basic info re: my move, and they sent out an estimator within a week to review my apartment. Any time I had to call, I was able to get in touch with someone in person (during business hours). Every email I sent was responded to quickly. Process: - An estimator came to my apartment to assess how much furniture and items we'd need to move. Later that evening, I received a quote that also included their "partial packing service" because we had some larger items (artwork, instruments, multiple TVs/monitors) that needed extra care for packing the day of the move. - After signing the contract and leaving a deposit, I received instructions on what I'd need to do prior to the move (get a Certificate of Insurance to my new building's management company, obtain Hoboken No-Parking signs, etc.). - We confirmed a couple of times in the weeks before the move that they were set for my date. I also emailed them the day before and they responded back immediately! The Movers: - The movers consisted of 4 people--Stone, the lead foreman, and his three crew members. From the second he showed up, Stone was a total pro--I was impressed with how seamlessly the team worked together. I especially had a hard time packing some items and him and his team were able to get everything safely into boxes and onto the truck. We ended up having much more stuff than the estimator anticipated but Stone and the team got everything onto the truck, and finished within the time frame I was quoted! And, that includes disassembling/reassembling my king bed platform and an office desk! All of my stuff made it to the new apartment in original condition. No smushed boxes, no broken items, no scratched tvs/monitors/etc. The movers even noticed that I had freshly painted and had my floors done, so they were extra careful in making sure none of the furniture dragged across the floor or nicked any doorways/walls etc. My husband and I were honestly impressed with everything - the communications from the front office and especially with the speed, accuracy, and care of Stone's crew on moving day.
