And it was resolved fairly quickly, but it could have been a really big deal. The teller told me that a very large check would clear in two days. I waited the days and then requested several large payments to be made. Well, the bank did not release the funds in two day, they took a full week. Otherwise, banking at Chase in Poulsbo has been a good experience, even though it is a national chain in the local community. I tested it out just this morning when a friend was not able to wire a large sum of money to someone from his bank. They made him get a cashier's check. And when I wired money from Chase, they had no issue whatsoever. So all in all, it's a good bank. Otherwise, they do what all banks do, which is want you to leave your money in so they can use it.

Even when the tellers are not available, the cash withdrawal machines are everywhere for quick withdrawal of cash on the run.. I like the online banking feature and if something goes wrong it is nice to know your main branch and those in surrounding area will know your name. You do not get that from every other bank. Turnover is low at Kitsap Bank and after 40 years as a customer -- I know.
