I signed up for the beautiful strength program in fall of 2017 and have continued on to train three times a week with the same group of folks. The beautiful strength series was a fun opportunity to meet like-minded people, and is well-instructed and structured. I very strongly recommend it, even if you have some lifting experience. The facility itself is nice, the gym members are good people, and I'm happy to be a part of the community. Do yourself a favor and check it out!

As someone who is just trying to learn the basics I was made to feel very welcome and comfortable. Strength training is new and difficult for me. The trainer Matt, made sure his instructions scaled to my ability which I found incredibly helpful. Gyms around town have such different offerings/cultures so let me highlight some specifics: 1. It's a studio styled - open gym, with lots of strength equipment: strength machines, kettlebells, weight racks, sled, tires etc. 2. Cardio here primarily involves lifting heavy things rapidly. No treadmills, no zumba classes. 3. It's clean, also they can open the bay door at the rear of the gym for fresh air which is a nice feature. 4. Very welcoming to different abilities, ages etc.

I actually liked the gym itself and its equipment selection, but my experience with the membership process and staff interactions created so much unnecessary frustration and ill will that I have now requested cancellation of all my EōS memberships and decided I would rather find another gym. One of my biggest issues was my repeated interactions with Kiani regarding the fitness/personal-training program. I clearly said that I wasn't interested, but instead of simply accepting "no," I felt repeatedly questioned and pressured about my decision. He asked me things like "How will you reach your goals?" as though I couldn't successfully work toward my fitness goals without enrolling in their program. This was particularly irritating because I had already successfully lost about 10 lb on my own. I explained that I normally exercise 5-6 days per week, doing approximately 10 minutes of cardio and 30-40 minutes of strength training. I was then told that this wasn't enough and that I should instead be doing around 30 minutes of cardio plus an hour of strength training. My doctors and nutrition professionals have been supportive of the routine I've been following, and consistency rather than excessive intensity has been what actually helped me make progress. I wasn't asking for my workout routine to be critiqued. I was simply saying that I did not want to purchase a fitness/personal-training program. Offering the program once is perfectly reasonable. What I found inappropriate was repeatedly questioning why I didn't want it, questioning how I would reach my goals, and "fitness-splaining" to me why my existing routine supposedly wasn't enough after I had already declined. "No, thank you" should have been enough. Unfortunately, the membership issue that followed made the experience considerably worse. I initially signed up online for Will Crush and shortly afterward decided that Will Power better suited what I wanted. I contacted EōS and then went to this location in person on September 3 specifically to cancel Will Crush and sign up for Will Power. Kiani handled this and told me that Will Crush had been cancelled and that everything was "all set." I left believing that the old membership was cancelled. My app continued showing Will Crush, however, so I followed up. The next day, Olivia actually checked my account and told me that Will Crush was still active and had NOT been cancelled. She then submitted another cancellation request to management and told me that it was expected to be processed by September 9 or 10. My September 4 written correspondence documents that I had been told the membership was cancelled in person and subsequently learned that it remained active. I want to be clear that Olivia was helpful, and my complaint is not directed at her. She actually checked the account, discovered the problem, explained what had happened, and attempted to get it corrected. What I find unacceptable is going to the gym specifically to cancel a membership, being told that it was cancelled and everything was taken care of, and then discovering afterward that the membership was still active. This was also happening while I was within the cancellation/rescission period stated in my membership agreement. The agreement itself says that a member may cancel before midnight of the third operating day after receiving the agreement and is entitled to a full refund when cancellation occurs within that period. Instead of a simple membership change, I have had to repeatedly follow up, submit online inquiries, call, return in person, send written cancellation notices and create my own documentation because I don't want to discover later that I'm being charged for memberships I requested cancelled. At that point, the accumulated experience changed my opinion of the gym entirely. The repeated pressure and unsolicited "fitness-splaining" had already created considerable ill will, and discovering that a membership I was explicitly told had been cancelled was actually still active was the final straw. I have now requested cancellation of all my EōS memberships. It's unfortunate because I genuinely liked the equipment, but I would rather find another gym than deal with a membership experience where saying "no" to an additional paid program isn't simply respected and where I have to repeatedly follow up to make sure a cancellation I was told was completed actually happened.

With just a 12 week prep last year I was able to place in both divisions that I entered under the guidance of Coach Tom. I am currently under the guidance of Coach Ty and I've been able to pack on a lot of quality muscle without excess body fat and improve my stage presence a ton! The environment here is like no other. Everyone is encouraging one another and it's awesome to be around likeminded people working toward something similar such as an upcoming contest. You truly get to see everyone's physique coming together week by week. AZBB also holds posing classes weekly (Saturdays @noon) usually led by Coach Ty or Chris who is one of the best posers I've ever seen on stage. If you're looking to be better and are willing to work (it's been fun but not easy) then look no further!

It's group sessions up to four people maximum (there is one in one training available) 1 hour Tom is perfect for a group of friends to get a great workout in (and from someone who understands aging and weight issues.) Tom will work with you and keeps you remembering importance of posture to keep his trainees healthy and moving. Tom has various workouts and switches it up. Tom also does monthly measurements (if want to know or you skip the measurements if you don't want Tom to know you're not keeping the nutritional plan lol)

The gym itself is a bit older and smaller than some of the newer locations. It gets very busy in the late afternoon and evening, especially after work. That said, they still have a decent amount of equipment, so you can usually get a full workout in--it just takes a little more patience during peak hours. The biggest issue here is the men's bathroom. It's consistently dirty every time I've been in, which is disappointing. On top of that, whoever installed the hand dryer clearly wasn't thinking it through. It's mounted only about six inches above the counter, so your hands end up touching the counter while you're drying them, which is pretty gross. Overall, it's a functional gym that gets the job done, especially if proximity matters. It could use some updates and better attention to cleanliness, but it's not a bad place to work out if you go in knowing what to expect.
