We came in for a little treat and loved the shop! The staff were welcoming and helpful. I got a giant peanut butter cup and my boyfriend got a box of a variety of chocolates from the case. Spring break candy shopping. We bought 2 bags of licorice twists, clearly marked with large black numbers stating $4.99. We bought several other items too. After paying and getting a receipt, I saw that she had charged me $5.99 on both bags. I brought this to her attention. She refused to credit me or give me $2 back. I asked to speak to a Mgr. She said no, the transaction was done. She wouldn't budge even when I said it was false advertising and clearly they were cheating customers. She wasn't sorry and stuck to there was nothing she could do. I told her she should at least take her signs down. She was so unprofessional and I believe she had no clue how to issue a refund. It's not the $2. It's how fast it escalated and she was in the wrong. Be better. There are many other candy stores in Newport. I will never return to this one and I advise all shoppers to check what you are charged before you pay. read more

Friendly service, clean store. The fudge was one of the best fudges I've ever had. I've tried many at different coastal towns here and they have the best. Tasted super fresh! The German Chocolate and Tiger fudges were to die for! The Butterfinger is also amazing. Definitely recommend stopping in and grabbing some fudge! They had a variety of things to choose from. We did the 6 pack fudge for $19.99 so we could freeze it and take it home for later. read more

Definitely had to stop in for some salt water taffy while by the sea! And especially bc I'd never had any before lol! Out of all the candy stores we stopped in to compare taffy flavors, this store had, by far, the cleanest taffy bins and freshest taffy we found! The staff were very helpful and welcoming. Covid safety measures were followed as much as possible. They had all sorts of stuff, chocolates, truffles, popcorn, any type of candy you might want, and an insane amount of taffy flavors! Even chicken-and-waffles and cayenne pepper!! Their taffy is soft and full of flavor! I tried to take pics of the different taffy bins so I could identify them later but it is still hard to tell which one is which though lol! My only suggestion for improvement would be to maybe give out a "menu" or card or something with pics so we can tell which flavors are which...otherwise it's all good here! read more

Best candy store at the beach. Any time you are visiting Newport, Oregon be sure to make plans to visit this store. The salt water taffy is absolutely delish with at least 50 flavors to choose from. There were also six different flavors of caramel apples that are made on-site which are always fresh and fabulous. We recently phoned in a mail-order for 6 bags of the caramel corn. The order arrived totally fresh and exquisitely packed. There's an art form to packing candy and this shop knows how to make it arrive intact. Don't forget to try the fudge. It's also made in the store. I challenge you to find fresher, more mouth-watering fudge any where. This place is a candy lover's delight. read more

If you are going to sell a chocolate covered Twinkie make sure its a REAL Twinkie! I bought the 6 piece mix/match and was HUGELY disappointed when I bit into what I thought would be a Twinkie ended up being more like a dense chocolate cake with a grainy cream filling. The chocolate was waxy and just not anything I would even buy again. The Oreo cookies dipped in chocolate were ok. Still though the chocolate was waxy. The Boston Cream was closer to the Twinkie but bland in flavor. The waxy chocolate dominated the taste buds. We wont be back for any of those any time soon. read more

Perfect salt water taffy! And flavors I've never heard of that I loved at first taste. All flavors are intense. We got 1/2 lb and quickly went back for another bag! The friendly help suggested pina colada & raspberry lemonade. Yep my favs! Then they told me they ship around the US also! I bet my military son & family would love some in the mid-west . I've always enjoyed bringing my nephews here to buy taffy. There must fifty different flavors and it's so much fun to go through them all. The fact that they're arranged in a boat scores major points with the kids. All the jars and cases filled with hard candies, stick candies, chocolates, licorices, etc. will remind those over 40 of a old-fashioned candy store, the likes of which we rarely see these days. Bought a bag of assorted liquorice, however, and it wasn't very fresh. I think the selection is too big for the volume of patrons and gets old. I'd stick to the taffy and the wrapped candy. They also have some fun toy and gift displays, however, which helps make this an entertaining stop along the bay front. Put together a small bag of candy to savor and enjoy while you walk the boardwalk and see the sights. read more

AMAZING selection of candy! It was nice to see the old stuff alongside the new. The taffy is whipped though so soft and sticky, which it turns out is just not our type of taffy. We bought a pound of taffy, had lunch at Mo's, and by the time we opened the taffy in the car, it looked like this. Mind you, it's only about 65 out so it shouldn't have melted in an hour. 1.5 stars We came in here after dinner at Mo's. My friend greeted the only person working there and she completely ignored him! Then when we were ready, she didn't even acknowledge us and we were the only customers inside! Bitch. We got some marionberry filled chocolates, a chocolate covered peanut butter fudge bar, and these crispy peanut butter things. The marionberry chocolates tasted disgusting. Something you would find for 99 cents at walgreens. The only good chocolate was the crispy peanut butter ones but I'm pretty sure it was just peanut butter, sugar, and rice krispie cereal. Real unique. My friend said there were tons of candy stores in the area that were way more elaborate and nice. Aunt Belinda's has been virtually unchanged for decades. Still the delightful spread of salt water taffy in the middle of the shop. More different flavors that you can possibly eat. Still the candy by the pound in neatly stacked display bins, everything from gummies to non pareils to sour balls to licorice to you name it. Some of the best divinity and fudge around. And my personal favorite, Seafoam. There's no parking at the shop itself, but a city lot is just around the corner and even in the heat of the summer season, parking is pretty easy to find. Just tell yourself you're walking off your first piece of taffy. :) If you don't have a smile on your face at Aunt Belinda's, there is something seriously wrong with you. What a great little sweet shop! Right in the center of town this place has an enough saltwater taffy and sugary delights to poll your eyes into the back of your head for the next week. They have absolute rainbows of taffy in every flavor, as well an a daunting gummies section, and a really impressive chocolate selection as well (and they have SEAFOAM, which I'd only heard about and finally got to try and love! Both in milk chocolate as well a dark.) Additionally, the staff is really nice, helpful, and funny! The woman who helped me out was spot-on with amounts, recommendations, and liberal with suggesting samples before I bought something. Second time we have been here and have been very pleased both times. The first time we got a couple of each flavor, eventually getting over 4 pounds of taffy. Lasted us for a couple weeks. We learned our lesson though. Some of those flavors, especially the experimental ones, are just plain gross (chipotle... ick). SO this next time we picked our taffy judiciously and only got ones we knew we would like, taking a small handful of each. When I think of a candy shop and how it looks Aunt Belinda's Candies definitely cuts the cake; it is set up nicely, the selection is fantastic as well. My children loved looking at all of the various candies and we brought family back lots of taffy, delicious. Buyer Beware!!! This place is blatantly ripping off tourist, the scale for the candy is way off, I tried to buy 1/2 pound of taffy the price was $7.99 a pound. They told me after they weighed it $10.91. I said yikes I thought it was $7.99. Oh well she reply's the computer says $10.91. Then I gave her $20. bill. I asked her again why it cost so much, she called over another girl and told her everytime I put this candy on the scale it comes up different. They weighed it again this time the price was $5.43. As I am waiting for my change she keeps on re-weighing it. I ask her if I was ever going to get my change. Finally she offered me $10. I said I gave you a $20, you owe me another $4.57. She said no you gave me a $10. Bla Bla Bla. I finally left with my $20 and told her to keep her candy. I've been coming here since I was a kid and they hands down have the best and softest salt water taffy on the Oregon Coast! They got rid of the boat you used to pick the candy out of a few years ago, I'm guessing an ownership change maybe? Anyways, it worried me a little in regards to the taffy quality but time and time again they impress. Super fun to look around this place too! So many quirky and weird candies. Giant gummy unicorns and hotdogs and cheeseburgers... I have a blast just looking around! The staff has always been super super friendly and courteous also. I've never had a bad experience with anyone here. I stop in every time I'm at the coast and always will recommend this place! read more

We were so happy to find the store! It reminded us of the store in Seaside called the buzz and when we mentioned it to the manager Jennifer, she stated that the owners that had owned the buzz in Seaside sold and retired and then decided they needed to open another store and they opened this one! My husband searches for Pez dispensers and we noticed they had so many and that's what clued us in that these two stores seem to very similar. Amazing yummy caramel apples as well :-) read more

Love the taffy. You can have 1 frr and they have the best flavors that actually taste like what they're suppose to. The lemon meringue tastes like lemon meringue. The maple bacon tastes like maple & bacon. So many candy places have taffy that every flavor just tastes the same but not here.
