I bought a break fluid oil flush voucher on groupon for mini cooper. Before I went to the shop, I called the merchant to schedule an appointment with my car info and how it's working. The owner didn't mention ay additional charges. When I went to the shop , the owner told me I need to pay additional $40 dollars for oil recycling which is not mentioned on the groupon website. I told him I can accept the charge and I need the receipt with the $40 additional charge to follow up with groupon about it. The owner said I am not interested in the deal anymore and asked me to leave and get a refund from groupon. I also noticed the owner increased the break fluid flush price on groupon from $160 to $240 after I left the shop today. It's a really bad experience for customers that the owner can change his mind and reject the service. Update for owner's review below "a vehicle that is directly not covered in the advertisement" , groupon adversisement doesn't mention any special vehicle price. After the owner told me to charge additional $40, I was confused and later accepted the charge while telling him to get the receipt for reference then I can follow up with groupon. After that, the owner refused to do the service. I guess the owner don't want his practice to be exposed to groupon. The owner could have listed the additional charge on the groupon website in the beginning to let customers be clear about all the cost. I had such a great experience with C & N Automotive and honestly wish I had found them sooner. I purchased a groupon for a smog check then booked an appointment through yelp. Upon arrival, they informed me there was a technical issue with yelp and the appointments were not going through from yelp. They recommended calling in to make an appointment next time. I had the time though, so I stuck around and waited a bit before they were able to squeeze me in for the smog check (less than 30 min wait). The service was super quick and all the employees I interacted with were professional and polite. I'll likely be back next time I need service or a smog check (but with a phone appointment)! read more

Kevin is so rude he doesn't grant you coupons he will fin way to charge you more. I went to do smog check after he finalized the paperwork when he handed to me for signature he was so angry mumbled we don't grant that offer. Then he was able to make the car fail smog with visual inspection and he charged me $43.52. One week later I went again to same smog check this time he wants to charge me $65.57 when I asked him the reason I don't know you you're not my customer with very raciest look. The owner clearly did not know what he was talking about and repeatedly claimed my catalytic converter was not legal. I showed him the sticker issued by the Bureau of Automotive Repair (BAR), yet he dismissed it. To be certain, I called the BAR directly and provided my license plate. They confirmed that my catalytic converter had been approved by a state referee. When I called the shop back with this information, I was met with hostility, threats, and complete stubbornness. I just had an incredibly unprofessional experience with C&N Automotive Center. While waiting for a smog test, I stepped outside the waiting room because it was stuffy and the chairs were uncomfortable. The person working on my car had pulled it up right next to the waiting room door. After having my car for only a few minutes, he turned to me and said, "I do not need to be babysat." He also mentioned that he had "already messed up twice" and insisted that I take my car elsewhere. This interaction was completely unprovoked. I was simply standing outside on my phone, not interfering in any way. I hope this was just an off day for them because treating customers with such hostility is unacceptable. I would strongly advise others to take their business elsewhere. Update: The owner of C&N Automotive Center called my cell phone and left me a voicemail threatening to open a case with the District Attorney because I wrote a negative review about the bad experience I had with them. read more

I warned them that I had taken apart and tried to fix (Utube ). They didn't make fun of me, as I told them that I did not have the skill mor the tools to do job. It took me a while to send this review. I tried C&N last spring for an oil change because of good reviews on Yelp. In retrospect his prices seem way out of line and I believe that I got services that I really did not need. I was charged $119 for the cabin air filter, more than double the $50 that I just paid for the same service at Stress Free a couple weeks ago. My oil change visit ended up costing me almost $900. Like many auto repair places that I have been to in the past it appears that C&N will try to sell you as many services as they can. Stress free was really good about sending photos of everything that needed service and also letting me know which services they considered important to take care of and which were more discretionary. I recommend that you pay attention to the other negative reviews which I now see for C&N and try Stress Free instead. read more

zero stars if i could, OVERPRICED and horrible service, they like to take advantage of people here and charge wild amounts for simple things like an oil change. I went in today for an oil change and they were trying to charge me $228.64, i was in shock and certainly left right after because nobody should pay that outrageous price for a simple oil change that i was able to get for $90 somewhere else with much better service. I took my truck to this place to get electrical diagnostic on my tail lights .they charge me $260 for two hours of labor however they did not spend exactly full 2 hours of work the diagnosis was I had an electrical junction box corrosion and short. they said the tail light lenses were melted from the inside from the bulbs. I rechecked myself and there was no evidence of melting on the inside of the lenses from the bulbs. they said I would need to replace the tail light lenses which would be very costly. I strongly recommend going elsewhere. read more

Recently my mom was visiting from Washington, We were driving from the North Bay to The city to see family when my clutch went out on the 101 freeway in Sausalito! Not a very good spot at all! I was able to limp my car to a safe destination and called Kevin at C & N Auto. I had the privilege of working with Kevin many years ago so I was lucky to have 1st hand knowledge of his work ethic and work quality. His honesty is beyond reproach as the pride he takes in his work. He is an ASE certified master mechanic, and is always looking to further his knowledge and abilities to provide the best possible service in the industry. Upon calling I immediately explain this crazy need to have my car back within 24 hours only stating the clutch was in need of repair. Honestly that is all as all I thought was wrong. He told me no problem, get the car to him he'll make it happen. By the close of business the very next day, my car was done. Not only did he do my clutch & my rear main seal, he did my brakes, flushed my transmission and replaced a relay that had recently went out leaving me with no emergency flashers! All of this for reasonable cost, infact $800 less than I was quoted other places for just the clutch! He also advised me of some practical repairs that will be needing to be done in the future. So yes while I understand it's more practical to have a local mechanic in helping to save in the cost of car repairs, but my mechanic works 200 miles away from where I live and I'm OK with that I'll take my car to nobody else. read more
