We had the title and it was completely filled out and everything. This should have been a simple process however despite being the only one in the business, the lady helping her had to call customer service and took over two hours and was still not able to complete the title transfer for the trailer the boat came on. In addition, they charged a "Service fee" of $90!!!! The DMV fees were only $15. DO NOT GO HERE!!!!

Inside was clean and uncrowded. Crowd control outside was relatively efficient. My appointment was served on time. And the clerk that I dealt with could not have been more friendly and helpful. she even let me look at my picture and take a second one. Going to the DMV during a global pandemic could be a stressful operation. But the Stockton DMV did a good job given their resources.

I will say this location is on the cleaner side for a DMV. But here is the BIG issue I had on my last visit. Security doesn't allow standing while waiting!? Excuse me? I went on a cold winter day that was about 45 degrees outside. I didn't want to stand outside in the cold, but also didn't want to sit in a crowded seating area where there was clearly sick people who were coughing, sneezing, and sniffling everywhere. Hey Security, this isn't the hottest local nightclub on a Friday night. This is a local DMV. People don't want to be there. They probably HAVE TO BE THERE. And like me, I literally wasn't allowed to do what I needed to do online. So you are forcing people into long wait times and now telling them HOW they must wait? That is crazy work! I have been coming to this location since it was built and I understand that it's the DMV and it can be slow and frustrating but I think they do a very good job here. I needed to renew my driver's license and I have been trying to get an appointment online but they are weeks out. I'm in a hurry so I tried their new online option of getting in line before you actually get to the DMV and I want people to know about this because it was super helpful to me. It's the first week of September 2025, but the earliest appointment I could get at this location was the last week of September 2025. So I opted to use their "get in line now" option and it was super easy for me to get everything done quickly. I got in line digitally around 11:00 a.m. and was 37th in line I believe . Just after 1:00 p.m. I was 10th in line, so I got in my car and drove over to the DMV. Although there was a line out the front of the door as usual, there was still plenty of parking and by the time I walked through the doors I was fourth in line. The gentleman at the front was having difficulty explaining to people that they are no longer physically checking anyone in and that people need to check in digitally. I felt bad for him because he was really overwhelmed. However, I was able to find a seat and wait about 10 minutes to be called. It really stream lined the whole process. I was able to pay my fees, take my eye exam and get a new photo in less than 20 minutes after being called. All in all I was only gone from home about an hour for the entire process. I'm sure this location could do with more employees, just like any other DMV could, but I really feel they do the best job they can trying to get people through as quickly as possible and I appreciate it.

A few steps to get up to the door. If you're walking in from the front of the building it's the last door on the left. If you're coming from the back of the building it's the first door on the right. Common sense but just in case you get lost. Joann is absolutely amazing! We came in on a Saturday morning 2 people ahead of us, but upon sitting down 1 of them was already getting up and the other person was still waiting on information so she called us up. We explained the situation and she immediately got into her system and started working her magic. She's good at what she does, she's prompt, she worked hard helping us in trying to get our lost title back from another state. I mean we were on hold a few different times and got hung up on a few times as well, still she insisted on calling back and dealing with the automatic prompt (press 1 for this 2 for that) She didn't get irritated (as I would've) she had so much patience. Once we realized we couldn't do our out of state title transfer (due to our own personal hiccups) she still called someone from Arizona and got all the information needed and even printed out the application for us to fill out and mail in. Not only that, she actually walked us through the paperwork step by step to make sure it was filled in correctly and ready for us just to get a money order and put it in the mail afterwards. She also helped us with another vehicle in getting the title transferred, tags up to date and paid. She is really good at what she does, she's friendly & not to mention so funny! She goes above and beyond for her clients. She does anything from out of state titles, title transfers, vin verifications, notary, plates, tag transfers, name/address changes etc. Definitely saves you those long lines and wait times at the DMV. I will definitely be back for all my dmv needs and highly recommend Joann to everyone! You need something dmv related? She will take care of you.

Unfortunately because this was the 2nd time this vehicle was getting registered in California I was unable to finish here and had to go to the DMV per California rules.
