His painters are hardworking and knowledgeable. Damian's bid wasn't the lowest estimate we received, but it was the lowest realistic bid, especially considering all the work our apt needed. The work was finished on time and on budget. The walls and ceiling in the apartment were in terrible "estate" condition which required much plastering and skimcoating before painting. The apartment was transformed. The repair work and painting work were incredibly high quality in every detail, nook and cranny. It looked like a totally different place! Really stellar! Damian really went above and beyond in many little ways, like getting two really stuck windows to open and close, something our co-op maintenance team had tried and failed several times over the years. At the last minute the previous painter I had hired cancelled on me and I only had a week before my lease expired. My wife and I had just bought a large one bedroom coop on the UES and we were planning on doing some work to it before we moved in (new wood floors, installing a light fixture in the living room, etc.) but we needed a painter that was able and willing to work around the other contractors that we hired and one who could get the job done in six days. After receiving quotes from multiple painters, we were very impressed with Damian's attention to detail and how he took the time to explain the entire process with us. He was able to get us all of the required insurance documents for our coop right away. Since I was at work during the day, Damian did a great job of keeping me informed about the job progress through text and pic messages. After the floor guy removed the floor, Damian made a great suggestion to me about replacing the existing baseboard molding. If it wasn't for him calling me that day, our floors would not have come out looking as good as they do. This is something that he didn't even have to recommend especially since he wasn't getting paid on it. Ive dealt with contractors many times and it concerned me others would give a quote not knowing exactly what they are getting into. In person, Damian is palpably honest. He came up with a quote slightly more than my 'blind' quotes. I went with him and the result was great. His crew was on time. I didn't get any response back from you so I emailed "I haven't heard(typo) back". I'm not sure how you interpreted that as "aggressive"? But even if you did, having worked in customer service myself prior, responding back "just been busy" to a potential customer is not going to make the situation better. Do you not agree? You did offer to try and do a walk thru again saying you needed dates/times. I responded "well if you scroll down below that's what my previous email was about." You replied back "do you mean the one that says Thurs or Fri or sometime next week?" I wrote back yes and then never heard anything back so I moved on. I'm sure you're the Picasso of house painters but that doesn't matter much if customers can't book you because you're not responding or following up. That's fair to let potential customers know.
