Found this restaurant on the yelp app in search of gyro platters. It's a small privately owned "mom n pop" place. There was a couple inside that were making the food and taking orders. They were very nice and helpful. We ordered the mixed platter over rice and the Fat22 sandwich combo. The items were delicious. Sandwich came with French fries and the gyro platter was very good. Meat was seasoned and grilled and topped with that sauce and served over a bed of rice, with some salad greens on the side. They had a long list of Fat sandwiches, which I plan to try in the subsequent visits. Still getting the hang of these fat sandwiches In Jersey. Finally, they did have some lunch specials on the menu, but I was too overwhelmed by all the items that were on the list. read more

We stopped by 22 Bites on Saturday night to get some take out because I love Halal and I was thrilled when I just happened to notice they were a newer spot in the neighborhood and they've been on my book marks for quite a while. Now I write tons of reviews and don't just give out 5 stars that easy but they totally deserve it! First off the staff was so friendly and welcoming. The young man who took our order was so nice. I ordered the chicken gyro platter that comes with rice, fries, salad, white sauce, & some pita bread. Extra white sauce for me. My husband ordered the 22 Bites Platter that comes with Beef & Chicken Gyro, Salad, Rice, Tahini, Hot Sauce, & Pita Bread. He also added a side of the white sauce. We waited about 10 minutes and he let us know our order was ready to go. I also asked about delivery since we live in the area and he let us know they do offer delivery through either Uber eats, Grubhub, or Doordash so I picked up one of their menus and we were on our way. We got home I unpacked the food and took my mandatory pics...lol I added a little hot sauce to my chicken gyro platter and dug in... I really enjoyed it. The chicken was juicy, the rice had a good flavor, the salad was fresh, and the fries were crisp. I really liked the flavor of their white sauce too and the pita bread was nice and fresh. It's a very large portion so I did have left overs. My hubby on the other hand.... no leftovers...lol I asked him how was his food when obviously I knew the answer. He said he really enjoyed it. So needless to say I see many return visits in our future. So basically if you're in the mood for some delicious Halal food with some wonderful friendly service then I highly recommend you pay 22 Bites a visit. read more

This is such a find for us! Excellent Mediterranean halal food, good portion, reasonable prices, and friendly and courteous service to match! Funny, the gentleman & lady owners were watching futbal together on their own TV away from the one in the dining room and we shouted and laughed at the same time! Since I had a brunch already, I just ordered the fish platter, which is well seasoned and delish, and a baklava to shut down my tooth fairy. A definite go-to place for halal food if you're in the area -- even if you're slightly out of the way like we are, it's worth the trip. read more

When we arrived, the restaurant was very clean and the owners kindly greeted us. I decided to order the Chicken Gyro Platter because it looked delicious in the pictures! The wait for the food was about 10 minutes because they were preparing it right at that moment. It was nice knowing the food was being made fresh! Once the food was ready it smelt AMAZING!! I couldn't wait to get home and try it already! My first bite of the Chicken Gyro Platter was DELICIOUS!! The rice, sauce, chicken, and pita bread were prefect. I also really enjoyed the side of salad:) I 5/5 definitely recommend 22 Bites and will for sure be coming back! We ordered 2 beef gyro platters. Chose to go there because it's the closest to us and wanted to try something local. Unfortunately, the food isn't as great as some of the review says it is, but not terrible either. There's no need for fries when going for halal food as they get soggy by the time you get home. I'd prefer more salad and no fries. The meat is also not seasoned as well as other halal places. On another note, they are very clean and have good customer service! read more

Loved this place! Stopped here on a whip during a weekend home, and had a taste for halal, something you can't easily find in Jersey. Went inside and everyone was really nice. Seemed like a family owned and run business. I ordered the chicken platter and my mom order the chicken fingers and fries. Price point is good, portion size is EVEN BETTER. Omg I got so much food, it lasted me three meals. Chicken was well seasoned, and the rice was delicious. Next time I'll ask for white sauce on the side, but no disappointments for me. I did not have the same high star experience others seem to have. I got food delivered by GrubHub. There was soooooo much tzatziki sauce that my chicken schwarma was soupy. The sauce also didn't have any cucumber and little garlic flavor. Salads in several reviews showed far more than the lettuce I got and again: soggy. The meat itself was bland even with so much sauce. Today I decided to try out 22 bites since it's just 5 minutes away from me and I look for halal food often. 22 bites is located in a very good spot, right on highway 22 northbound and beside Costco. Food: I ordered the chicken and beef mix platter and a buffalo chicken sub sandwich. The platter was not that great. The chicken and beef were missing basic seasoning ingredients like salt pepper maybe some cumin some chili powder. The meat just tasted very bland. The sauce that comes pre poured onto the meat is also not great. The buffalo chicken sandwich was actually very good and I would probably get it again. I don't think the fries in the sandwich are necessary but they're not too bad. Maybe a little less fries would help. Overall: I was a little skeptical at first to try this place out but I always like to give a new halal spot a try. Considering this restaurant is fairly new, there is potential but unless there are basic seasoning changes this restaurant may not do too well. Best of luck! read more

Better then expected!! I got the tasty 22 bites platter and it was so good. I've never tried halal food so I wasn't sure what to expect. But me and my fiancé loved it and will for sure order again! The service was very quick! And the platters are full of food. My fiancé also ordered buffalo wings which tasted good. Typical buffalo wings but he didn't even need to eat them because he was so full from the platter. Definitely recommend this platter! read more

Food was relatively bland for Mediterranean, and no hot sauce was served on the side (could have asked for it). Also, pita wasn't the freshest, nor were the fries they served on the side. 22 Bites is a new establishment, just being opened a few months ago, but quickly gained popular in town! This popularity makes sense, considering the amazing food, service, and staff. The menu has lots of traditional mediterranean food, but also food that even the pickiest eater would love. I recommend the falafel, it's the best I've ever had. The tziki sauce (if that's how you spell it) is amazing. The 'fat sandwiches' are super popular, and my family loved it. The gyro platters are filling, and a great price.
