Open till 1am?! We were in bed, scrolling, when the review for Flaming came across and they're right around the corner.... 1am?! No way. So we popped out of bed near midnight just to see what the buzz was about- and in fact the place was popping and the grill was hot and putting out the best Halal you've had. I like your food, but the circus at the counter today was inexcusable. First she almost gave me the wrong order, then forgot my pitas. Everything was fresh and delicious, but we thought it was a little too spicy even with the white sauce. We ended the meal with their baklava, which we all agreed was the best baklava we've ever had. I had the pleasure of my second lunch here this week. First one was just a few days after their opening (chicken tikka kebab w/ rice), and that was delicious. I couldn't believe how tender and flavorful the chicken was, so I brought 1/2 home to share w/ the hubs... also approved highly, so when he had a day off this week, he came over (I work close by) and we gave it a second shot. Double thumbs up and even better than the first time! He had a chicken gyro; I had the chicken and rice platter. Hubs said it was the best gyro he's ever had. Mine was also fantastic! Portions are huge! The salad is a nice touch. The fries are tasty but unnecessary. I don't like heat so I passed on the "red" and "green" but the "white" is wonderful! Hubs also got sucked in by the rice pudding. Excellent! I'm so happy this place opened! Excellent addition to East Allentown; I love the diversity it attracts. This place came highly recommended to me. I decided to take the hour and 20 minute ride to see what the hype was as about. The overall vibe and atmosphere is is awesome. The staff and what believe is the owner take absolute pride in the food. And once I tried I can see why. My wife got the chicken Gyro and I got the Lamb this is the first HALAL I prefer the chicken over the lamb! It was seasoned and marinated to perfection! I enjoy going to this restaurant because the food is always consistent and good. However, I'm giving 3 stars because I don't understand the $1 charge just to cut the fish on a platter. How does using a knife to cut a piece of fish cost the business anything? I'd rather see the overall price of the platter go up than be charged separately just to have the fish cut. It's almost impossible to enjoy a fish platter without it being cut up, so you're basically forcing customers to pay extra for something that should be standard. That's ridiculous. Without question, I'll be back. This was good food at a very fair price. I ended up getting the mixed (chicken and lamb) over rice (as mentioned many other times, it comes with a small french fry and salad). You get a choice of sauce on top, and I chose the white which is in the realm of Tzatziki or Ranch. Not very thick. I liked this very much too. I also want to add that for those who have an American style palate and are reading this (meaning, you like things very basic meat and potatoes style), I think you will really like this place. The flavors were all very mild and nothing is greasy. The french fries did have a seasoning on them (more than salt), but nothing strong or strong spiced tasting. If you don't like lamb or the look of the chicken (the chicken has a spice that has a very red look to it, the lamb like gyro meat diced), you might want to try what the person I was with ordered. They got the chicken fingers over rice and basically had the same thing I did without the sauce and meats that I chose. They raved about it, and were this type of person I'm describing. This is a solid place. I almost say take out place, but you can eat it there. Growing up in NYC I would jump at the chance to eat at what we would call "The halal Trucks" and you would get a heaping to go order of jasmine rice, chicken, lamb with white sauce and I personally would add hot sauce.
