Palm oil, dried shrimp, hot pepper, sweet bread and more--all there. And she so kindly gave me a few items for free, which was a pleasant surprise. It was the only restaurant near me that didn't have an absurd "minimum" plus the extra $2 or $3 for delivery. Plus, I was craving dessert and it offered carrot cake for only $2.75. I ordered a "large Greek salad" and a slice of carrot cake around 830pm. The wait time as listed on Seamless was around 45 to 60 minutes. Another 20 minutes pass before i receive a confirmation email stating that my order has been received and accepted by the restaurant. However, contrary to the wait time stated on Seamless, the confirmation email from the restaurant stated a wait time of 60 to 75 minutes. Ok, no biggie. I had stuff to do. I can wait... An hour passes and still no food. I call the establishment and politely inquire whether my food has been dispatched for delivery. The woman on the phone sounded harried, and actually thanked ME for not yelling at her. This makes me think that she is often yelled at by clients whose food are extremely late in being delivered. Her excuse for the lateness? Her delivery car broke down and another car has picked up my food and will be delivering it shortly. Sure enough, after my phone call my food arrived about 10 min later. I don't know if the woman on the phone was telling the truth, considering that every review complains of the awful delivery service. However I'll give her the benefit of the doubt. As for the food - EXTREMELY MEDIOCRE. My large Greek salad had 2 grape leaves, 4 slices of cucumber and tomatoes (one for each corner of the take-out box, and some olives scattered here and there. My slice of carrot cake fed me better, surprisingly. It was large, slightly lopsided when it came, but it went down just the same. The carrot cake looks the same as those you'd get from BJ's... you know, the oversized ones you want to buy, but are afraid to buy because you'll eat it all in one sitting... Long story short: mediocre food, extremely long wait, but reasonable prices. I would order from here if you aren't that hungry and you have errands to take care of while you're waiting for your food.

((4.25 stars for the tacos))…read more it's been a minute since i have been to Ben's Deli. ownership changed; renovated, and have expanded their deli / grill offerings while reducing their taco offerings. if you didn't know Ben's just a few years ago was an old school deli / corner store where there would be different taco pop-ups serving up a limited menu of the Mexican street food. these days Ben's is a new modern looking deli / mini grocery that still serves tacos but just chicken or beef, now. the tacos are made from scratch, so you getting fresh food which takes a little bit more time than your typical fare. for some reason you can only order tacos in twos or threes, but you can't order three tacos without ordering a can of soda. ordered a trio of beef tacos which were well worth the wait. the tacos use thinly shaved flakes of seasoned beef; topped with chopped onions, a sprinkling of cilantro, & thin slices of avocado; and each taco is double tortilla'ed bc each taco is filled to the max. slices of limes are included. the beef is savory, moist, and flavored well. the double layer of corn tortillas taste like actual corn. the onions add texture and the avocados add smooth fattiness. the tacos are fresh hot food. the rest of Ben's outside of the tacos is pretty a standard deli/grocery; large menu of cold and hot foods; shelves filled with a variety of snack foods, refrigerated units filled with soft drinks and adult beverages plus some household goods. though i wish the taco menu had options like carnitas or al pastor and more from the past. i do find it strange that you can only order two tacos w/ no soda OR three tacos with a soda--no solos or a trio without soda. weird policy, but the taco guy made an exception for me and didn't force me to get a soda. there was a a back-n-forth with the cashier who wanted to charge me whether I got a soda or not. strange. but hey whatever...the tacos here are good and make for a satisfying dinner or lunch! not sure if the tacos are just a permanent part of the deli offerings or it's just a pop-up, but either way...it's a worthwhile stop for the tacos if you're hungry.

I finally tried their donuts today and as you can see the inside of the store is spacious, clean and very inviting! I only got two donuts to try. Smores and The Boardwalk.
