These two guys show up practically to the minute of the 20 minute time they gave on the phone. Instead of trying to sell me a toy they jumped my Nissan and advised me I need to get an interstate or Bosch battery as mine is made in Saudi Arabia. I've done a report on Saudi exports they produce... camel husbandry, falconry and cotton. So needless to say I won't be buying a battery from Walmart again. I called to schedule a tow for the following day. On the day of, no show. I get a text 29 minutes after the scheduled pickup that they were running behind but I wasn't watching my phone because I was waiting for my tow truck to show up. At 9:40am, they text again wanting to confirm the appointment. Because I didn't respond, they never showed. After leaving where the car was (waiting for them), I finally see their texts and calls to me. I'm sorry I didn't see the calls and texts but being late is one thing. Expecting the client to respond otherwise no-showing is acceptable is ridiculous. Nobody told me I would need to respond to a message FORTY MINUTES after the scheduled pickup to confirm they still even want the tow for them to show up. Terrible service. I wish i had extra stars i could give to this towing company after the great service I received EARLY this morning. My little Honda civic finally quit on me. It has been an ongoing problem that i just haven't had the time to fix. I live a pretty busy and crazy life so don't always have time to leave reviews. It is never easy to give up your car for a week while its in the repair shop. I called 3-4 different Seattle towing services while going down the list on Yelp. Lucky for me discount towing answered first. Todd arrived within the 30 minute window i was given on the phone. When you are in a situation where you are not sure what you are supposed to do, it is nice to have someone that's friendly and willing to do more then just pick up you car and move it somewhere else. As for the price, I didn't have to pay any drop fees or fancy hook up fees which was nice. They just gave me a flat price over the phone of $75. Situation: My Prius started behaving badly, low power, warnings, etc., decided not to limp it all the way to the dealer for service. (Wallingford to Seattle Toyota south of the Stadiums) Called and was told a truck would come in two hours or less, which worked ok for me. Was given a text to send the pickup address to, and told that I'd hear by text when the truck was close to arrival. I asked for a name: Charles. Results: Waited exactly two hours and was composing a text to ask what was up, when my phone buzzed with "your truck is almost there." Ok, good enough. What happened next: Very friendly, competent, driver who worked quickly when he showed up, quickly charged the phone-quoted flat fee of $175 by credit card to his phone app. (I think this was Charles who showed up, and his name comes up a LOT on these reviews, drives a flatbed white truck labelled Universal Towing) Surprisingly soon I had a text that the car was delivered to Toyota. A few minutes later I had a call from the Toyota dealership (who originally said they wouldn't start in on it until the next day) that they were setting it up for diagnosis. Great overall result. Cons: It's somehow disorienting to be reviewing a business called "24/7 Rapid Discount Towing Seattle" and never have any other mention of that business name come up when doing business. The phone was answered with some other name that I forget. I asked if this was Rapid Discount towing and the voice said ".... uh....... yeah." The truck was labelled "Universal", and the driver used an app that never showed a business name. Maybe this is the modern way: "who cares who you're doing business with as long as it works?", but I like a solid identity that makes some kind of sense in my brain. Call me old-fashioned? read more

Ideally I'd like to never need a tow truck again, but if I do I hope that I happen to be in Seattle or on the Eastside so I can call these guys again. Their dispatcher was courteous and professional and gave spot-on ETA for the truck. When it arrived, the driver was immensely kind and helpful - introduced himself straight away, told me just what he needed to load the car, and then allowed me to wait in the dry, warm truck cab. It's kind of scary being on the shoulder of a six-lane interstate highway with a disabled vehicle, but the driver was such a pro I had complete confidence in his capability. He works in a very efficient and safe manner. When driving me home, he knew just the right balance to strike of pleasant chatting, and quiet time (which I really appreciated because my mind was just spinning after the ordeal of my car's engine dying.) Tow drivers can tend to be a shady bunch, in general, so these folks are really a gem to find. Would highly recommend them to anyone - I don't even know how their rates compare to other companies, they seemed pretty competitive to me - but I wouldn't even bother looking elsewhere. If I could give 500000000 stars I would. My work van blew its tires on I5, had to drive about a half a mile to a "safe" space to stop, I was super upset and of course were in Seattle so hazard lights are actually a "hey nothings wrong over here I'm just driving slow to piss you off" signal, so I was a bit frazzled. Vry pleased with the help I received this morning, at a fair price. The few wrinkles in the process were more than overcome by the excellent help I received from Charles, the owner. Here's my background (skip to next paragraph if you just want comments on the company). After not driving it for a few days, my prius battery died so severely that it wouldn't take a jump. Unknown to me, this is a more complicated issue than in the non-hybrid cars I've driven before, where I can easily replacing a battery myself. Costco and other local vendors don't sell the specialty battery the Prius needs, and it's located in an obscure, hard-to-reach place in the back under the luggage compartment. Seemed like my options were towing it to a Toyota dealership for a pricey tow, battery, and install/labor fee--easily running $4-500 and eating up half a day before it was done--or ordering online and having someone help me install it propertly. So I ordered a highly-rated Optimus battery from Amazon for $147 (took a full eight days to get here from the east coast.) It finally showed up late last night. Time to find a service provider to help--and ideally, one capable of towing my car in the unlikely event it was more than just a dead battery 24/7 seemed perfect. Great reviews here, a 24/7 service window, a Seattle location, and a description which included "changing battery"/ So I called at 6am this morning, hoping to schedule a service ASAP. No answer--and forwarded to a voicemail with a generic message. Hmm...did I dial correctly? Yep, but no return call. So I tried again at 7am, same result, another message left. Then again at 8am. This time Charles picked up. He politely explained that they'd been swamped that morning and had missed some calls. (Understandble--only it would be better if a voicemail message at least explained that calls would be returned when they could get to them, so that the caller doesn't just give up ) He then explained that he didn't really do battery swaps. When I explained that his yelp web site description was pitching this by the company, he agreed to try to come help me out during his next available slot at 10 am, and charge me a reasonable $85 + tax for the stop (assuming it wasn't complicated than we thought). True to his word, he phoned shortly before ten that he was here. He then did battle with the crazy Prius layout with me. While not especially familiar with the prius's odd battery layout, Charles dove in with a good atttiude, and got it done. Bottom line: while his supporting infrastructure (e.g. voicemail, call return policy, and web description) could use a little polish, he is a can-do professional who was willing to step outside his comfort zone to get the job done. In my book, that easily warrants five stars--especially in the service/towing business, which is rife with customer unfriendly behavior. I'd happily call him again! read more

Sometimes you have everything you need in life, and then you lock it all in your car by accident. :( This was the case for me a few times throughout college and this particular time I went with these guys I didn't even have my insurance card for assistance (locked in the car as well).
