The sweet smell of sugar smacks you in the face once you enter. It's a friendly yet strong slap of everything chocolate. I walked around the shop looking at the sugar cookies, chocolate this and that, and I was pleasantly reminded of the chocolate and pastry shop in my hometown on Ocean Street. It was as if I had been transported back in time to that exact location. Seeing those sugar cookies in Valentine's, St. Patrick's, and Easter designs was a trip down memory lane. Whatever you are looking for in chocolate, Peterbrooke has it or can make it, but tonight was about Gelato I know a little something about Gelato after spending a week in Italy last year and being sweetly spolied by Black Market Gelato in Boise, Idaho. While I did not sample the Gelato here, two diners did, and the looks of pure joy and ecstasy on the face was all that I needed to know. They both had their heads back, eyes closed, and savored each spoonful of deliciousness. As a matter of fact, both of them finished their gelato in the store as it was that good. If you're in the area and need a chocolate alligator or anything else chocolate, stop by and take a stroll down memory lane and get some gelato for Pete's sake.

To be honest it didn't live up to my expectations and this tiny item was $2.50. For the size of a starburst. I was saddened by that but the cookie makes up for it.

We got a dirty martini and negroni to start. Awesome presentation and they came out pretty quickly. We were also given a free glass of prosecco, which was an excellent touch. For appetizers we ordered the Crispy Bang Bang Lion's Mane, which had a great texture and was extra crispy, and the Citrus Spiced Carrots. This sat in a bed of ricotta cheese and hot honey. The perfect balance of sweet and salty. I'd order this 10 times over again. For our mains we got the Fresh Grilled Fish of the day, which was a snapper with mashed sweet potato and broccolini and a pan to pour a lemon sauce over top. This was a perfect portion, the fish was grilled perfectly, and I could have eaten an entire bowl of their sweet potatoes. My husband got the Bronzed Florida Grouper, which had a risotto with shrimp in it. Both of these dishes were INCREDIBLE. To finish, we got the Sky High Citrus Meringue Pie. This kind of played on a key lime pie. It was rich, the portion was HUGE, and a great way to finish our meal. Overall, great food, great vibes, and great service.

Ok starting from the top, absolutely the best espresso martini in Orlando! Secondly the little details like a purse hanger is just top tier hospitality. Third the food is absolutely to die for. The crab cake . I literally couldn't eat all my food both times and I still need to go back to try more. Also another hidden gem is the bar. It is a nice little hang out spot on park ave. It was soo good I forgot pics guess I have to go back for a third go!

We stopped here since it was one of the closest spots to the golf course, but I was pretty disappointed. The biggest issue is that it is not actually a bowl, it is served in a cup. It makes it really difficult to enjoy all the toppings together since you can only eat one layer at a time, which defeats the purpose. The granola portion was also lacking, and you do not get to choose the amount. The ingredients themselves tasted good, but the execution made the whole experience underwhelming. On top of that, there was only one employee running everything during a busy Sunday around noon. I felt bad for her, but it did slow things down a lot. We had to wait while she made multiple orders before even being able to place ours, with a line forming behind us. I understand if it was a slower weekday, but during a peak time it just did not seem set up for success. I honestly wish I had not brought our cousins here for their first acai experience.

The design inside is minimalist and is definitely a place you could easily sit and relax in. We got the Tiger bowl which is an acai bowl with granola, double strawberry, peanut butter and protein and decided to add bananas which in theory sounds delicious. It comes in a smoothie cup for some reason which makes the amount of toppings you get much less than when you get bowls in other stores and it's filled to the top which also sounds great but awful considering the "bowl" comes layered so if you want to try the layers together it gets messy quite quickly. Once we got to the protein layer, we quickly found out it was raw protein powder. Just a layer of protein powder in the middle of the "bowl" is insane and takes up quite a bit of the space so you're getting less of everything else for something that could easily have just been mixed in from the beginning. After getting to the protein powder layer, it quickly ruins the rest of the layers as the powder doesn't mix well and clumps up everything and makes it gritty and close to inedible. And all in all, the "bowl" came out to around $23 before tip. Whilst normally I'm understanding of places having bad days, open to trying other things even after having a poor experience once and some menu items just not being for me, I would personally never want to return.
