This is my first time visiting in this location and I would have to say don't come hungry because everything looks so amazing. You will put yourself in a sugar coma. Very very unique, but I will give you some tips. If you have to go to the bathroom you better do it before coming as the bathrooms are only one and it is small and if you ever go in, I guarantee there'll be a line when you walk out. The cash register is located and not the best locations I would like to see him right out front where it's more welcoming to the guest But I would have to say very phenomenal place. I sometimes buy a truffle or 2, maybe a few... Last time, I tried a ginger chocolate one that melts when you put it in coffee. I had a coffee from the new Austin's Coffee location in the car. Tasted great, I really enjoyed the ginger flavor, fine candy, nicely candied. I also tried a cinnamon fudge one that had a light cinnamon flavor due to the cinnamon powdered sugar coating. Most pieces are $3, & the coffee one was $3.50 but it was slightly larger. They used to give free samples, but I haven't seen that in a while. There's a room that offered something like tea service, by reservation. The window is frosted, no view due to the parking lot, but the chandelier & decor is very nice. The service was off their game. Not very approachable and made an open table reservation and they didn't mark it. Really enjoy the food with the charcuterie tea experience. There is both indoor and outdoor seating. The moment we walked in, there was so much to look at. The menu is vast, with so many options it's almost impossible to decide. Everything looks incredible, and the shop itself is beautifully decorated, making it fun and elegant all at once. AJ is a great stop during a random walk down Park Avenue. A friend and I stopped in for a drink and to check out the chocolate offerings and we thoroughly enjoyed our time. The restaurant was well decorated and clean. We decided to take a seat outside since it was a nice day and the chairs on the inside were kind of low. We perused the glass cases of chocolates, cakes, gelato and more. It was a little unclear where/how were were supposed to order or whether we were meant to sit first and order with a server. We ended up ordering at the counter and they gave us a number. We sat at a table and waited for our treats to come out. We ordered their signature Norwegian hot chocolate to share (a layered hot chocolate with dark chocolate, milk chocolate and white chocolate topped with whipped cream). FYI this is real hot chocolate - not a traditional hot chocolate beverage but instead more like a mousse. It was super rich, creamy, and delicious! I definitely recommend sharing this. We each also got a cake slice. I went with the meringue crumble cake which was soooo good and unlike any cake I've ever had. I'm not a big frosting girl which this cake did not have and I'd say it's more similar to a pie in texture. My husband went with the roasted almond cheesecake which he really enjoyed. I ordered all dark chocolate: chocolate brownie filling, ghost pepper chili, and marzipan. They were all delicious! The brownie didn't taste much like a brownie, more just thick straight chocolate, so that was my least favorite. The marzipan was awesome. The chili was my favorite, with a subtle hint of spice on the back end. The inside is quite small but nicely decorated and has a romantic feel to it. I came here for brunch for my birthday with my husband. I had seen reels and photos of this place all over my social media feed for months now and finally made the reservation to go. We were given a table with a number and were instructed to order at the counter and our order would be brought to our table. We ordered the tea tier and it was amazing! I got to pick 3 chocolates of my choice from their selection to go with my order and I even received a happy birthday chocolate mousse with a candle on it! The croissants were 3 different kinds and were all delicious. There were 3 different shot glasses of dessert, chocolate and Belgian waffles with whipped cream and white and milk chocolate sauce. My husband also ordered a sip of white chocolate which was served in an espresso cup and warmed. This was an unexpected taste of heaven omg. The new kid on the block in Park Ave! I remember when this location was Frappe Start. That only lasted a few minutes... I think it's a nice addition to Park Ave to have an upscale chocolate shop. They're in competition with PetersBrook, but they have a larger variety, wine, hot chocolate and specialty desserts. The hot chocolate was what we wanted today. It was amazing! I got the dark chocolate and Michelle got the Norwegian. It's Like sipping on a melted chocolate bar! It was very delicious though! We needed the spoon to fully enjoy! The Norwegian was extremely rich and thick! My dark chocolate was thinner and sipped more like a traditional hot cocoa. This is not my first visit to AJ Chocolate House. They are a popular place at the end of Park Ave in Winter Park. While I want to love this place, because who doesn't love chocolate. There always seems to be a hiccup with service. Today I ordered three slices of cake and ask for a carafe of water. The three slices showed up at the table. The wait staff said they would return with the water. Not sure if it ever appeared. Definitely didn't while we enjoyed our cake slices. My husband had the Blueberry Marzipan, my daughter had the lemon cheesecake and I had the pistachio marcapone. Hubby raved about his slice. My daughter said hers was pretty good. Mine on the other hand, the top which was the pistachio part was gelatinous. The cake it self we all agreed really didn't have a flavor punch. Though I can't fault the crust which a lot of people get wrong. There is plenty of seating and the place is relatively quiet enough for a conversation.
