I walked around the shop looking at the sugar cookies, chocolate this and that, and I was pleasantly reminded of the chocolate and pastry shop in my hometown on Ocean Street. It was as if I had been transported back in time to that exact location. Seeing those sugar cookies in Valentine's, St. Patrick's, and Easter designs was a trip down memory lane. Whatever you are looking for in chocolate, Peterbrooke has it or can make it, but tonight was about Gelato I know a little something about Gelato after spending a week in Italy last year and being sweetly spolied by Black Market Gelato in Boise, Idaho. While I did not sample the Gelato here, two diners did, and the looks of pure joy and ecstasy on the face was all that I needed to know. We came here because I've been wanting to try the viral Dubai chocolate strawberry cup! I had one at the Blueberry Festival in Mount Dora a few months back and was so disappointed. I figured it was because it was a random pop up at a huge festival so I wanted to try one from a legit shop. Upon entering - it smells like I definitely have diabetes now. I've seen pictures of their cups online - which looked LOADED - and have wanting to try one for weeks. My husband has been annoyed this entire time talking about being annoyed with this stupid Dubai chocolate trend. When we went inside there was a pretty good variety of candies and you could see the staff through the window in the back actually making it. They also had gelato here which is what we stopped by for. The staff was very friendly and offered for us to sample several flavors before we made out final decisions. Review of Truffles & Bubbles class: The class included two glasses of bubbly, dipping a chocolate covered strawberry and dipping/decorating 10 truffles. Reservations are required for the class. The class was fun. The champagne was served in chocolate dipped flutes. The employee told us about the history of chocolate. She then showed us how to dip and decorate. We wore aprons and gloves. I didn't take photos of some parts since it was messy. We then got to dip the truffles in either dark, milk or white chocolate. (Is white chocolate even chocolate though?) I dipped mostly in dark chocolate. The truffle decorations included sprinkles, coconut, sea salt and chile powder. I think the black sea salt was the best topping. Only 8 truffles fit in the box so I had to eat two of them. The box of truffles I brought home were eaten by my family so fast. read more

ALL the chocolate. I'm very much a chocoholic and love anywhere that offers up delicious treats. We frequent Park Ave and love to walk the street and just take in all there is to see, and this shop is right on the walk! Before you even make it inside you can smell the sweet treats and once inside you will see that it's wall to wall offerings! They have ice cream, shakes, truffles, marshmallows, boxed variety chocolates, popcorn, and more! You can even order custom pieces with names, birthday wishes, celebration dates, etc. I personally head for the chocolate case and usually grab up some dark chocolate truffles or a dark chocolate covered marshmallow stick. There is always a line for the ice cream, cause Florida is hot! Haha! The staff moves things quickly and the wait isn't usually too long. They have a couple of small tables out fronts, but usually people take it to go for the stroll down the street, or sit at a long bench nearby. After a Friday afternoon of hanging out with my friend and fellow Yelper, Britta B., I encouraged her for us to find a place to "treat" our afternoon of "hard work and studying" (more like procrastinating at it's best). So without searching through Yelp, *definitely a first*, we where walking around Park Ave around Winter Park and Britta pointed out a colorful sign with a drawing of a "Bubble Waffle Cone"; add our intrigued minds to the scent of warm chocolate and we were basically lured into this shop like Hansel and Gretel were lured into that Candy House... Only that we found friendly employees inside instead of a wicked witch. Very appealing to the eye, this store is a sight for sore eyes. Very cute and filled with chocolate EVERYTHING. Don't believe me? Take a look at the pictures. Chocolate covered pretzels, all sorts of berries, coffee beans, popcorn, peeps, jelly beans, you name it! Also, Chocolate on all shapes and forms. White, dark, milk chocolate heels, yes HEELS! Chocolate ties, chocolate pizzas, your usual chocolate bars and even chocolate liquor!! Looking back, I'm SOOOOO glad I wasn't "PMSing" while visiting this store because I would've probably made impulsive decisions. *You don't want to know...* So Britta continued to point out the Gelato Bubble Waffle Cones and would tell me, "These are all over Instagram! They are quite popular!!". Without having to convince me, I was convinced. Employee gave us the details and much intriguing information. You get to select between chocolate or vanilla waffle cones, select your desired gelato and you get unlimited, YES... UNLIMITED, toppings. All of this for $8.00. I'll admit, a bit pricey, but when you see the detail and patience that goes into making this perfect bubble waffle cone (plus you can go crazy with unlimited toppings), it's not that bad. A sundae at your typical chain ice cream store can range between $5-7; and that's for plain ice cream not Gelato! So after the employee was ever so patient with my 104 questions and around 5 gelato samples later (Hey! I have curious taste buds as well!!), Britta decided for the Vanilla Waffle Cone and I went for the Chocolate one; Although Usually I would go for the Vanilla waffle cone, selfishly, I wanted to try both! I picked my "gelato poison" which was mixed berries and decadent chocolate, and decadent it was! I didn't want whipped cream, but went for rainbow sprinkles (reliving my childhood days) and some weirdly named chocolate covered sticks that were worth adding. I seriously didn't take advantage of the unlimited toppings, but next time I will. I didn't see the toppings listed anywhere, but the employee gave me the details. (I would definitely suggest for them to have a list for customers to be able to go over and select from). So we watched the process of the making of the bubble waffle cones (takes about 8 minutes, I would say) and enjoyed exploring the store, purchasing chocolate covered bacon for Juan (Which he pointed out to be the best he has ever tried since it was very crispy) and observed a hypnotizing machine that kept battering chocolate. I remembered telling Britta, "I would so dip my face into that machine. Just face-plant into it." She suggested for me, hypothetically, to dip my hand maybe, something less "animal-like", but I insisted it should be a face-plant. It was then when I understood WHY there is a glass preventing chocolate-crazed people, like me, from getting near the chocolate... Finally, our Gelato Bubble Waffle Cones were ready and I swear I kind of skipped all the way out of the store feeling like a happy kid who had just had her day made. Britta even treated me to my Gelato, so I felt the joy of not having to pay for something. Lol! Thanks Britta!! I got you next time, though, don't worry! All in all, gelato was very tasty, bubble cone was soft and perfectly cooked and the service was welcoming. We took our cones and went to Winter Park's Rose Garden to sit on one of the benches, watch the sunset and enjoy our selections. This chocolate is absolutely scrumptious! If I'm on Park Ave then a stop to Peterbrooke is an absolute must. I am completely addicted to their Cattails, which are pretzel rods covered in caramel, nuts and chocolate. All the flavors combined with a soft chewy caramel and crunchy pretzel is amazing. I cannot stop at just one bite. I tried the dark chocolate ones this time and I was not disappointed. Their dark chocolate has just enough sweet with a little bitter. I also picked up since solid dark chocolate and that stuff is so smooth and creamy, it just melts in my mouth. Such as chocolate popcorn, chocolate covered bacon, chocolate/coffee drinks (to take home) and traditional bars, bunnies and other shapes. I was really impressed that they offer chocolate bars with messages in Braille. I'm always impressed when a business integrates diversity and inclusion into its business's model. Fellow Yelper Michelle M. C. And I tripped across this place wandering Park Ave in search of a treat to celebrate her last day at her current job. We were immediately immersed in a fantasy land of chocolate. A very friendly staff greeted us and asked us if we needed help with anything. As soon as I said no I noticed the sign for "bubble waffle gelato" ... and I was proven a liar. I had seen videos of this new trend on Instagram and I couldn't believe that this option was right in front of me so "on second thought what is that?" The staff person provided a very detailed account of what the waffle included. Basically it is a standard waffle mixture in the shape of bubbles instead of squares which is shaped as a cone and then filled with gelato. You also get to chose from a large variety of toppings. We were also informed that the whole process would take about 3-4 minutes. And then the choices begin. Standard or chocolate waffle? What type of gelato? Two choices no problem, which one do you want on top? What type of toppings? Whipped cream, sprinkles, poko sticks? And a bunch of others I can't remember. I chose a standard waffle with tiramisu and coconut chocolate chip gelato (tiramisu on top) and kept it simple for the topping just whipped cream. Fun fact you can watch the waffle being made in the back where they make the chocolates. The waffle is put into a cup and the rest of the toppings are added. It is a little pricey ($8) but well worth it considering what you get and the overall attention to detail. Also if you check in on Yelp there is a 10% discount. The location is an extra bonus because we could easily walk to the Winter Park Rose Garden to enjoy our treat. You can break off the little waffle bubbles to enjoy or eat them with a spoon together w the gelato. The "bottom" gelato kind of melts into a sweet soup which is yummy w the waffle. As much as this dessert seems like it's over the top, the waffle takes up a lot of room in the cup, so while it was an indulgence it wasn't over the top, but just perfect in hitting the spot. read more

I received something very near and dear to my heart... a Milk Chocolate pump decorated with Dark Chocolate hearts... heaven! Hit the nail on the head, one of my favorite things (chocolate) paired with one of my obsessions (shoes). Score!
