COVID Review- I can always find something good at Nordstrom's rack especially in the shoe department. Today's visit felt a little different though as soon as I opened the doors it felt clean like operating room sterile type clean which I appreciated! However it also felt very sparse the aisles and racks that are usually over flowing with products were very neat and very limited! I couldn't tell if they were limited due to low inventory or if they were limited for COVID reasons? Jury is still out on that one! During the check out portion of my visit there were bottles of hand sanitizer everywhere! The employees sprayed the counters down in between each transaction! Not only were the employees were mask but they had a barrier of plexiglass to help keep them safe! Overall I appreciated the measures the store took to keep its employees and customers safe. I would've have enjoyed more inventory to choose from though! read more

My first time at Nordstrom Rack and I wasn't impressed. We visited to use a gift card my son received for Christmas and left without using it. The store is small to me and the men's area was barely worth viewing. They had red tag sales on some things but nothing that we wanted. I understand all stores are different but I wouldn't visit this store again unless they improved their men's section. The women's section had a lot more to offer but even my wife and daughter didn't buy anything to my amazement. read more

I usually visit this location because it is close to me, however compared to other locations, it is kinda lack luster. The store is a smaller location that some of the other stores and with that comes less of a selection to chose from. The staff is always friendly and helpful with is always a plus. The other drawback to this location is the lines to checkout are always long unless you come first thing in the morning, like literally when they first open. Midday unless there is someone at each register, the checkout process is daunting and gives me too much time in line to second guess all of my choices, pre-checkout. I did notice they had a mobile checkout in the men;s section for those customers who were paying by card but it was so well hidden, an employee had to come over and ask and guide customers to said location to help reduce the main check out line, Placing the mobile registers in a more visible location would be helpful to both the customers and the associates. Lastly, bring back the green checkout flags or something similar so we know which register to go to. Someone screaming "I can help next" can become confusing unless everyone in line is paying attention to the rotation of the line. Makes me kinda sad I will come here in a heartbeat to return something but its not my first choice in location to make a purchase. read more

Nordstrom Rack is one of my top five favorite stores of all time, and this location is great. The store is enormous, and very clean. It feels more like a store than a garage sale, and I would be surprised if someone came here and didn't buy something. If you're not familiar with Nordstrom Rack, it's basically a Nordstrom outlet, and everything's cheap! I've gotten DKNY and Esprit jeans for $20. Underwear is usually 50% off or more, and they have good brands. The shoes require a little digging because they have so many, but you can usually find something if you're diligent. They also sell shoes here that people returned to the stores, so those tend to be 75% off. read more

Maybe it's just me, but I loathe this store. Possibly because (and this part is entirely me, I'm sure), I can't comprehend spending more than $100 on a purse (even if it was originally and incomprehensibly marked up an additional $500), or even fighting to find said over priced item through piles o' junk in the first place. I feel like a tool even walking though this store - granted, some of these reviews (Jamie L. I'm looking at you) are circa 2008 when Ed Hardy was only sort of douchey, but not yet Jon Gosselin wearing douchey yet, but still, really. I generally enjoy the original Nordstrom (even if it is purely to window shop), but I've never found a single item at this location worthy enough to drop a hundy on something that wasn't even all that awesome to begin with. Such a hit-or-miss. Maybe it's just me, but I feel that Nordstrom Rack has gone a little down hill... However, this location is large and gets messy rather easily. 1. Shoes-------- Great selection. Hit or miss, but if you look you'll usually find a deal. Men and Women 2. Watches----- Nice selection also. If you're in the market for a watch whether it's a Movado, Diesel, Coach, Nike, etc... After failing in my attempt to find anything at the Pentagon City Nordstrom Rack, the GF and I braved the insane traffic and parking snarl of holiday shoppers to make it out to Potomac Mills to do some last-minute Christmas shopping. I've found some good deals in the past at the Nordstrom Rack at Potomac Mills. Truth be told, this time around, the selection of designer labels (Hugo Boss, Armani, Versace, etc.) were not on display. Still, I recognize the hit-or-miss nature of shopping at an outlet store and best thing about the Nordstrom Rack at Potomac Mills is the fact that if you can't find anything you like there, you can check out the Neiman Marcus Last Call, Saks Off 5th, and Bloomingdales' Outlet Store just a short walk away. I found a nice leather belt and cashmere scarf and got to use up my Groupon before it expired, so I considered the trip a success. read more

I dig this place too. It is a "close-out," "seconds" type of store, but I have nearly always been able to find a serious deal here. The deals have ranged from: tailored italian dress shirts for less than $30 cashmere sports coat ~$120 etc. My latest find proves that you can push a bit and get an even better deal. I was looking for a pair of everyday, leather "sneakers" that are laether lined and will last a while. They had several styles of Cole Haans that I liked. I kept digging through the rack anyway and found the same style 1/2 a size bigger and 2/3 the price. I asked the guy manning the shoe desk if he would match the price and he declined. I asked to speak to a manager and she graciously agreed to let me buy my size at the ower price. Keep shopping, digging and asking, and you might save your way to a new wardrobe! read more

I'm missing out on everyone else's joy, apparently!!! Still on the hunt for a formal gown after the NM LC letdown, I traipsed into Nordstrom Rack, once again with high expectations and the vision of the perfect dress that I merely wanted to manifest before my very eyes. I figured going to stores like NM and Nordy Rack would afford me dresses that I couldn't find elsewhere, really. Basically, I wanted an expensive dress that was cheap as sh*t. I walked in and was immediately disillusioned, mostly because of the warehouse-style lighting. The layout was fine, just lines of racks, but they were pretty disorganized and unkempt. It took me a few minutes to find the 'long social dress' section, which was only one rack, and contained just a few smaller-sized dresses (and I think 2 or 4 was the smallest size, which leaves out the twiggy girls amongst us). So that was disappointing. I didn't really have time to check out the rest of the selection, but it seemed decent, although the presentation could definitely use some work. I mean, I know it's not *real* Nordstrom, but it's sure as hell not the JCPenney outlet either! But I ain't hatin'. I'll definitely go back if I find myself in the area or can borrow a car for free. read more

I mainly go for the shoes. They have really good prices on a variety of quality shoes, including some made in the US...Frye's among others. They do have decent prices on shoe trees, though they did increase the prices on those. I don't really find much of interest in clothing usually. Like some say, the lines are quite long for some reason. Don't understand why it takes them so long to check people out. Wish it wasn't so far away, but I like stopping by when I'm in the area. read more

I'm a big fan of Nordstrom Rack. I think it's a great store for fashion lovers that are patient enough to rummage through messes and wait in horrendous lines. If this is not you, stay away from these kinds of stores. It should be expected, especially when shopping during prime time hours like busy weekends and evenings. I have been shopping at this Nordstrom Rack for the last 13 years. As a teenager, I lived in the area and worked in this mall. So I had access to this store daily. I always found good deals and great merchandise. I haven't lived or hung out in the area much since then, but always make time to take some time to shop at the mall. And this is usually my first stop. I love the designer items they carry, especially the accessories and shoes. I don't think they really have a good selection of men's, but definitely a good amount of women's. Best time to come here is during the week, or early in the morning on Saturdays (if need be). Service is standard. It does get messy but like I said, it should be expected. This IS located in an outlet mall. read more

I always seem to find excellent buys (most recently, a very nice North Face jacket, usually priced at $150, purchased for $30) here and they usually have a great selection of denim and designer shoes. I like to go here early, when there aren't a bunch of people in your way of the racks, and when you get first pick at the items. Bonus: the store is a lot cleaner and more organized at opening too! IMO it's not a one stop shop,it's the kind of place that you MUST go into often. Last Fall I found an amazing pair of sandals online at Nordstroms. I fell in love with them, but they were sold out of the color I wanted. The next day, I was browsing through the shoe dept. at the Rack, and there they were !!! Exactly the color I wanted and less that half the price that I would have paid the night before. It is what it is. It's an outlet store. NM's is very organized and so is Bloomingdales outlet, but it's not the same feeling as digging thru the crap at NR to come out with a diamond !! read more

Bought something for $50. Cashier elder lady (Shirley T) was rude from the very beginning. At the end, she even turned her head to the left when she reluctantly said thank you without eye contacts. I definitely agree with the reviews that say that this Nordstrom Rack in particular is disappointing. Some years ago I got some really good deals there on suits and shirts but not recently. I know it's an outlet store but the help is non-existent and the merchandise is just strewn about. its pretty dumpy which is a shock considering this is Nordstrom. I go back about once or twice a year and each time wonder why afterwards. I guess I just keep remembering how it used to be. A Salesman at a regular Nordstrom told me that the management recently changed from father to Sons and so the quality of the chain overall has gone down. I guess that goes for Nordstrom Rack as well. The cashier ( Lovely Hispanic lady with glasses) I got was amazing and very attentive but her manager ( Asian lady with glasses) was so rude to the cashier. My little brother got a toy but there was no price on it so the cashier was working fast on getting a price but because of that the line was getting long. While waiting the manager really yelled at her employee to serve someone else WHILE THE EMPLOYEE IS SERVING ME ! I hold a credit card and I love this Nordstrom rack bc it has amazing products but this manager really had bad hospitality and why couldn't she starting ringing the customers if she saw that my cashier was attending me? I work in a restaurant where hospitality is number one but my managers always talk respectful and try to correct me if something wasn't done to standards, however I value how teams work and treats each other. I hope this review helps the team and its leader work better and nicer because this manager just ruined my shopping experience but props to the cashier who was amazing and attentive while still helping me with the toy that didn't have a tag! This. place. owns. It's the only Nordy Rack worth going to--trust me I've been through all of them in the area and this one puts the other two (Silver Spring and Leesburg) to shame. My parents live in Woodbridge, and since I go home nearly every Sunday for family dinner I stop by at least once a month. I could spend ALL DAY in here. Over the years, I have found some of the most amazing deals at this store. A See by Chloe top for $100, a FCUK beaded evening dress for $25 (only one, and amazingly in my size!), Missoni wedge heels for $150, Prada heels for $125, Hanky Panky camis for $20, weird Nike Rifts and Prestos that must have come from another planet, Trina Turk, Free People, Theory, L.A.M.B.--tons of brands I dig for 1/3 of the cost they should be sold for! I love clothes almost as much as I love food, actually they're probably tied. If i have $300 and can get a pair of shoes AND an awesome dinner out then I gotta raise up and say hell yeah to that. I've gotten an $800 wool and cashmere coat for $200. Woolford tights for $10. My mom made my Christmas dreams a reality last year when she sneakily bought a Chloe bag I had my eye on for months there (but managed to remain sane enough not to go broke for)--$2,000 marked down to $600 (and she got a mall discount, go mom)! I buy all of my workout gear here--it's even cheaper than the Nike/Danksin/Adidas outlets. I've been told I should hand myself over to Shopper's Anon, so maybe this place isn't for everybody. If you don't like to dig, and you don't like to spend hours shopping to find that ONE gem then this place isn't for you. I know what it feels like to walk out of a store spending close to $500 on clothes. If I'm leaving a boutique or uppity department store and that bought me 1 or 2 items, I descend into self-loathing to the point where even wearing said items makes me feel icky. But when I'm leaving Nordstrom Rack with 30 things and they're all quality and feel like deals of the century, best believe I'm f*cking strutting to my car laden with goodies, amped to wear them all. Life is normally a constant battle of quality vs. quantity, but at this Rack, you get both--if you want to put in the time and effort. read more

Placing shoes and purses at the front if the store, knowing for women like me, who doesn't need to purchase another purse for at least another 6 months, it will only take a glance to entice me to walk in the store. I have been going to this Nordstrom Rack for a while now and have never had such an unpleasant experience. However, this makes me not want to shop there anymore! The manager (asian lady) was absolutely horrible! She had the worst attitude when I asked her a simple question and did not even want to sell their products to me! The cashier was SUPER polite and nice to me and apologized on her behalf, but it would have been much nicer to have the manager herself apologize to me. Being the consumer you would expect the manager of all people to be polite, but no! I am a loyalty card and credit card holder and frequent the place, but I'm not sure if I will be there again. Also, the bathrooms are absolutely disgusting! There was toilet seat covers all over the ground, urine on the seats, and no toilet paper. More attention is definitely needed since this is not the first time I see the bathroom in a similar state. The store would really benefit from new management. read more

Comparable to a lesser TJ Maxx, more like a Burlington Coat Factory. Store is too cluttered and disorganized to try to find clothes. I did buy a nice watch there, but that's about it. I don't live anywhere near Woodbridge, VA but this store happened to have the shoes I "needed" and Kyle in the shoe department was super nice. He was very easy to deal with in finding my needed boots. The Rack stores that I live near are so busy and are usually a hit or miss deal. I haven't received the boots but I wanted to give props to Kyle for looking threw the shoe racks for my one pair. FYI my boots were originally $400 and are now $150. read more

It's been my favorite since Potomac Mills Mall opened its doors... There is a definite trick to shopping the Mall and Nordstrom Rack in particular. It is my very first go-to store whenever I need anything "special". Won't tell you how many pairs of shoes I've purchased over the years - all at ridiculous prices. Dresses, gowns, coats, and nearly everything you can think of is there if... -You are not expecting to find it -You carefully go trhough the racks and rounders -Able to spend more than 15 minutes in the store -Able to visit often -Are ready to buy it when you see it. -Know when the deliver new merchandise -Get there when the doors open -Be aware that the floor layout is never the same from day to day - racks and rounders are constantly moved My best advice? Never put anything back on the rack! If you hesitate, it will magically disappear before you have a chance to retrieve the item. You either keep it in your cart until you've decided you do not want it or it does not fit. I have the advantage of being to drive back to the store any hours of the day but my prime tactic is to BUY IT and then return it if it does not fit either me or any other member of the family.
