I got the gasket replaced for a very competitive price. Recently I had spark plugs/coils replaced and they let me buy my own quuality parts and they installed them without an upcharge. Just the labor from the standards book. They have done several other smaller mechanical jobs as well. All done timely and well. I further commend Jake and his front office staff for what is top notch courteous service. I find this shop an invaluable asset as a Senior who relies on the car (s) (including one semi vintage). They took us in and looked and were able to fix the issue right away. They were so kind and told us because we had an old trailer the valves needed to be replaced and due to wear and tear they most likely got warn out. He was professional and respectful on the call, and I appreciate that they addressed my concerns quickly. While the price difference wasn't completely refunded, I'm satisfied with the response and their effort to resolve the issue. Overcharged and pressured for repairs I never requested I went to Mavis Tires & Brakes in Daphne, AL for a basic tire and oil service after being quoted $321 "out the door." When I picked up my vehicle, the bill was over $100 higher than the quote. Staff blamed a "call center mistake" but refused to honor the original price. They also printed a repair estimate for nearly $5,000 worth of additional work that I never asked for, claiming someone had "verbally authorized" it -- which was completely untrue. On top of that, parts of the job were incomplete when I got the vehicle back. They didn't put spare tire back under my vehicle like I asked and no oil change sticker was applied or updated. I've contacted Mavis corporate about the overcharge and false authorization, and I've filed a complaint with the Alabama Attorney General's Consumer Protection Division. Be careful here !! You might be paying for more than you get!!!
