    Birria Tacos with dipping sauce
    Linda R.

We had the BirriaTacos I like crispy so asked for well done. OMG The best soft taco I've ever had. Grilled on both sides with a dipping sauce. Two was plenty but the dog and husband finished my third. The margaritas were very good. Hopefully not the last good weather day to eat outside . Service was good.

Fun spot to drink with friends but food was just ok. The ambience in 3 amigos is a bit confused but the large bar and ever-present music make it the perfect place to hang out with your friends for drinks and some food. I, however, did not try any drinks upon my recent visit and only sampled the cuisine which was overall, lackluster. When you arrive, you get free and fresh tortilla chips with a salsa verde and a salsa roja that honestly tasted jarred. Then I ordered some queso dip which oddly came with garlic bread. It was quite delicious and had the consistency of stretchy mozzarella rather than the sauce-like consistency of your typical queso blanco dip. Then I got the taquitos and the chicken fajitas. The taquitos were just ok, and reminded me of something you'd get at Applebees. The fajitas, however, were delicious! I was disappointed they didn't come with sour cream and the lettuce served with it was covered in vinegar. Overall, I'd come back for drinks and light bites or fajitas but you can probably find better Mexican food in the area. Ambience: 4/5 Food: 3/5 Service: 4/5

I can't express how much I love this place! I've been going for years and it's only gotten better over time. The staff is very sweet and friendly. The food is amazing, especially the tacos and street corn. The drinks are unreal, I always go with the Passion Jalisco or Betty Boop. They started doing karaoke on the weekends and I was shocked how many people go up and actually sing! It's awesome and so much fun, a very cool and happening place to be! I'll definitely be coming back

I came here for a friend's birthday recently. She really liked this spot from living in the area in the past and wanted something low key for her birthday. This is really ideal for that. It wasn't packed, even though we had a reservation we didn't need one. All the food I tried was pretty good too: - shrimp tacos: shrimp were perfectly cooked and really different to have shrimp tacos served with bacon. Lots of flavor - fish tacos: LOVED these. The fish was light and crispy and flaky. One of my favorite fish tacos. All the tacos were served with sides. I had a small salad with rice and beans. Those were fine. - churros: incredibly light and airy. They felt guilt free. They're not but they felt like it. - Flan: this was just fine for me. I could've skipped it. Overall, I'd go back here. The prices were decent. Low key environment and good food!

I used to venture here almost every Tuesday for tacos when I lived in the area and they'd never disappoint. I came here for my birthday recently, which was on a Tuesday, because I was craving the fried fish and shrimp tacos and I also ordered the braised short rib taco. Everything tasted just like I remembered them- delicioso! Of course this was all to share because no way could I eat 6 tacos and sides on my own. Got a side of corn and plantain as well. I love fried plantain but I'm not sure how I felt about salt being added to it as a finisher. Prices haven't really increased much on tacos since 3 years ago but I did notice they no longer do the half off special on tacos on a Tuesday anymore which is a huge bummer. I guess that's why there wasn't much of a crowd when I went because I had made a reservation just incase since I know of it always being super busy on a Tuesday but I guess that was before the pandemic. The churros are one of the best I've had. Crispy and very light + airy. The flan was also good. The ambience was just how I liked it on my birthday and the food hit the spot.

Yummy! We came during non peak hours so the restaurant was pretty clean and quiet. The service was great and I love the warm fresh salted nacho chips! The salsa was a little watery though, but it was still yummy. I really liked my enchiladas but I wish there was more sauce! More sauce and more veggie (onion and cilantro) would be appreciated. The refried beans were ok, I like my beans chunky but these were almost smooth. Overall, good food for a budget but it didn't fill me up.

A few weeks back, my fiancé and I, in the spirit of culinary adventure, decided to try out 3 Amigos Bar & Grill, a new Mexican joint tucked away in a cozy neighborhood. Its exterior was as inviting as a Hallmark holiday movie, promising a mix of authentic and modern Mexican vibes. First impressions were on point: the service was snappier than a stand-up comedian, and the cutlery was charming in a "these-forks-have-personality" kind of way. I mean, who doesn't like cutlery with a bit of zest? The plating? Absolutely Instagrammable. We went full throttle on the menu, ordering Guacamole, Shrimp Ceviche, a Carne Asada plate, Chorizo Enchilada, and a Flan for dessert. A real 'United Nations of Mexican Cuisine' situation. I've been around the California-Mexican block, so I was all set to put my taste buds to the test. The Salsa and Chips were like the opening act of a concert, decent, getting the crowd (aka our stomachs) warmed up. But boy, the headliners did not live up to the hype. It was like expecting a Beyoncé concert and getting a performance by a Beyoncé tribute act instead. While nothing was bad per se, the Guac and Ceviche lacked the punch of a Mexican wrestling champ, and the Carne Asada felt like it was on a flavor diet. My fiancé's Chorizo Enchilada, which decided to go all chunky instead of the classic ground style, was also missing a spicy kick. Even the Flan seemed to be having an identity crisis. Not bad, but also like it was unsure about its place in the world of Mexican desserts. All in all, I would call 3 Amigos the 'diet soda' of Mexican eateries. Not as bold as the full-fat version, but hey, it could be a good gateway for those easing into the world of Mexican cuisine. If your palette is more 'salt-and-pepper sitcom' than 'jalapeno action-thriller,' this might just be your spot. Will I go back? I'm a firm believer in second chances. Maybe it was an off day, maybe they were trying a new recipe, who knows? I'm willing to brave it one more time. Here's hoping my taste buds get the Mexican fiesta they've been craving.

Best marg I've had in a while! Excellent chips and salsa/verde to start off with. Great portions considering I couldn't finish my meal. Would recommend to others and come back myself!

3 amigos is so good, I love this restaurant so much. Everything we've gotten so far has been nothing but delicious. This place has one of the best chips and salsa , try it and you'll see ! Thanks to the kind staff that made our Mother's Day brunch special and enjoyable!

I'm originally from Boston, but I live in Texas now. In my opinion, you pretty much won't get better Mexican food in Texas. California, and the southwest also have good (authentic) Mexican food as well. So going to a Mexican restaurant is never on my radar when visiting the northeast. My friend suggested this place and I decided to go ahead and try it. Again in my opinion considering what I am exposed to living in Texas, this place isn't what I would call authentic Mexican. However, it was very good! I really enjoyed the taste of the items I got. I was able to substitute three alcohol in my drink as well as make a substitution with my food. Our waiter was very nice and attentive. We went early for a late lunch, but the atmosphere seemed cool. It was fairly quiet when we went but again it was lunch and since I was visiting from out of town we stayed there to drink at little and catch up. I look forward to coming back when I am in the area again this summer.

So this is a major hidden gem in Malden. The food was legit amazing, and I've never seen short rib street tacos before, so good. The place is ultra cool inside too, awesome music, sick paintings all over the walls. The bar is huge and their tequila selection is second to none. Check this place out, don't even think about it.

We are not that far from Medford and it took over 45 minutes to get there (traffic was crazy!) and we were running late. I called and they were super nice and said they could hold the table for 10 minutes (we were running 5 minutes behind our reservation) and not to stress out. When we got there, they were hopping! I am sure they get a lot of pre-show people because before I could even say we had to be out of there by 7, she asked if we were going to the show and assured us we would be out way before then. My hubby and decided to go the tapas route (which is basically the majority of their menu) and it was AWESOME! We started with the Queso Fundido. I am not a chirozo fan but the hubby is so I thought I would give it a try. It worked very well with the cheese and did not over power it. We moved on to the Cheviche Amarillo, Plantano Macho stuffed with beef, and Pollo Mole. All were perfect and just the right amount of food. I think my favorite was the Cheviche which was a white fish with sweet potato. The "sauce" was a citrusy topping and so light - did not detract from other flavors. Really all three were delicious. We also tried the flan because it looked so good coming out. Fair warning that I am not a flan person but it looked so yummy. Again, it was better than I have had but still not a fan - hubby on the other had devoured it with pleasure. It is a great location as well, and the space was very cheery, clean and despite being super busy we were not on top of each other - super worth the trip!

I got the margarita de la casa with salt, it was your classic margarita, but I liked it. Smaller size. For food, we started with the tamal with pork mole, which was really tasty, and fresh. Only one per order though, at $12 a piece. The size wasn't huge either. I then ordered the arroz del mar. It was creamy rice mixed with calamari, shrimp, and octopus. I was expecting more of a cream sauce but it was more like a watery broth, with a kick. It was spicy but tolerable. I liked the flavors but it didn't hit my craving. My boyfriend got the pollo con mole which he liked but I don't think he was crazy about it. I was still hungry so we ordered the plantano macho with beef. This stuffed plantain was good, I liked the cheese on it. But again, small size.. I will say I didn't know it was tapas style until we overheard the waitress tell another table. It makes sense in hindsight but we were quite hungry and this might have deterred us from coming. Portions were small even for tapas style. I saw a group and I'm not sure how they managed without ordering a surplus of food. I overheard them order at least 7 tacos...one per order... Strong flavors and fresh ingredients, I would say that. I think this is an elevated experience for food and it was a pleasant experience, but I wouldn't rush back because I don't think the portions were worth it even for tapas style.
