Came here before a flight and was super happy with my experience. It was not busy at all - I came around 2pm on a Thursday. Service was great, food was delicious and authentic, and prices were reasonable. I got 1 birria taco, 1 Al pastor taco, and 1 carne asada. They were all delicious but the carne asada was definitely my favorite, the flavors were great. Definitely would come back!!! I had no issues finding street parking.

The food is pretty good-I had chicken and BBQ chicken tacos. I really enjoyed their salsa. Not a fan of the tortillas. The Margaritas were good too -hubby got the spicy and I got the jamaican (hibiscus flavor). All in all I'd recommend it. It was a cute little restaurant, and the Service was really good. She was really helpful, really patient and even talked a little Spanish with my husband who is learning. Definitely a family place. It was a couple blocks from the hotel we were staying at in Chelsea area of Boston.

Had son's birthday party last June 23th for 55 guests , Rocio, mom and the whole staff was above and beyond. Guests loved the food and the environment. Judith one of the servers did the balloon ark for us. I will be back and highly recommend.

Another solid Yelp find! Excellent service, uber clean and tasty! The traditional, spicy and Cadillac margaritas were excellent. Shared a molcajete for 2, great flavored red broth and a wonderful presentation. We also tried a side of mole sauce which is my barometer for authenticity. I'm tickled to report that the mole was excellent! The restaurant, and the banos, were also very clean. Am so happy we ventured from our regular Mexican restaurant, we will now be regulars!

We came here after playing archery tag neaby and we we had a good time! The food and margaritas were delicious, and the portions we're massive for the price! My only complaint is that the service was very slow despite the restaurant being nearly empty. We ordered a myriad of the margaritas, all of which were very tasty. The mojitos- not as good, a bit too sweet for my taste. The ceviche was my favorite dish, and could have been an entree for how large it was. The tacos were okay, they came with just meat and not much else. The guac and complementary salsa were pretty good.

This is a little hole in the wall type. Most of the workers don't even speak English but they are very nice. We came here mostly for their margaritas but also split the chicken fajitas. I tried the coconut and a mango margarita and they were strong! This place doesn't skimp out on their alcohol. The coconut margarita was a little more heavier and more filling whereas the mango was more lighter. Both were very delicious! The chicken fajitas was a big portion, definitely good for sharing if you're not super hungry. It came with tortillas, beans, rice, lettuce and mashed avocado. The fajita was more on the basic side, nothing special but it was still good. They also bought out free chips and salsa when we sat down so I always appreciate Mexican restaurants that does this. Overall, this place was really good (especially the margaritas!). For the price of the items, I think it was a good call!

Complimentary salsa and chips and drinks will have you doing the bachata. Oh and the food was great. One word. Authentic.

Do not touch the chips, they where stiff and the salsa tasted like they made it with water from the faucet BUT entre was amazing, I had the shrimps on cilantro sauce and they where so tasty, soft and the sauce not at all salty, it came with rice and salad, our waiter took amazing care of us, even brought us a free dessert, churro with ice cream We love the "cantina" feel, it was not loud at all, music was calm and people where to themselves, even families where coming in I totally reccomend this place

Los Agaves is easy to miss as you're driving through Chelsea, but is absolutely worth a stop. The outside is unassuming, and the inside is clean (but nothing fancy). It definitely has a local feel to it. Our server was great, and always seemed to be right at the table as soon as we needed a drink refill. Overall, I'd break this place down as: Food: 4 stars (The mole enchiladas were great, and I loved that they didn't skimp on the sauce. The entree came with 2 enchiladas, but it was enough food that I couldn't finish it all and had some leftovers to take home). I loved that it came with guac! Chips and salsa were OK (chips were a little thicker than I like, but to each their own). Margaritas: 3.5 stars (Super tart - I like to taste a little more of the tequila in mine, but it was solid enough that I got another...) Service: 5 stars (Super prompt & friendly!) Value: 4 stars (most entrees around $12-15) All things considered, this is an awesome option for Mexican food in the Chelsea area.

We walked into a small, unassuming space where the focus is squarely on freshly prepared food made with bold, authentic flavors. The dining room is modest and functional, with a counter and a handful of tables that give it the feel of a neighborhood taquería rather than a sit-down restaurant. The energy is practical and welcoming, with the open kitchen allowing us to see the tortillas being pressed and the meats being grilled fresh behind the counter. The birria tacos are the signature order and the dish that defines the menu. We ordered a few and found the tortillas crisped up on the griddle, the beef tender and well seasoned, and the rich consommé served on the side for dipping. The combination of the savory meat, the crispy tortilla, and the deep, slightly smoky broth made each bite feel layered and complete. Other standouts include the adobada tacos, which had a good char and a subtle spice that built gradually, and the lengua torta, with tender tongue layered between a soft roll and topped with fresh ingredients. The pozole was hearty and comforting, with a broth that carried the flavor of the hominy and meat without being overly heavy. The tamales, chicken flautas, and well-seasoned rice and beans rounded out the menu, each arriving hot and freshly made. The pickled onions and house salsas added extra flavor, and the horchata was a popular choice to pair with the meal, its cinnamon sweetness cutting through the richness of the dishes. Service was friendly and welcoming, and the restaurant maintained a relaxed neighborhood atmosphere that keeps people coming back. Despite its modest size, the kitchen moved efficiently, making it a reliable option for both dine-in and takeout. The staff checked in at the right moments and kept the pacing of the meal comfortable, ensuring that even when the small dining room filled up, the experience stayed smooth. If you are looking for authentic Mexican food in the Boston area, Taquería Jalisco stands out for its consistently flavorful cooking, generous portions, and menu built around classic recipes rather than modern interpretations. It is the kind of place where the food speaks for itself, and the simplicity of the setting only adds to the sense that you are eating something made with care and tradition.

We started off with two drinks- a frozen mangonada and this passion fruit drink. They were both solid but I liked the mangonada better because the passion fruit cocktail had too much pulp in it! For food, we started off with chips and guac. This guac was some of the best I've had. It was super fresh and you could tell exactly what ingredients they used. We also their pork ribs! The ribs fell off the bone and I loved the warm sauce except it was a tiny bit dry. The sauce was reminiscent of an umami bbq sauce. We decided to try their zucchini dish, as recommended by the manager! I don't love zucchini usually but I liked it. It was roasted with cheese, sauces, and some shrimp. Very creative, Lastly we got the tuna ceviche of the day. I didn't really like this because it was really heavy on the dill. I think it would've been good without it. However the presentation was gorgeous and it came with plantains. Overall the vibes are superb here for a date, girls night, or whatever!!

I really need to remember to look online before choosing my order in the future (or so I thought). While the tacos still look incredible (especially the birria ones), the torta was surprisingly great as well. The sandwich is jam packed with ingredients and really well balanced. The beef was juicy and tender, and the veggies added a really nice balance of spice (jalapenos), freshness (onions, lettuce, and tomatoes), and richness (cheese and avocadoes). The refried beans were a pleasant surprise as well, adding really good moisture and flavor to the overall bite. And including avocado on the torta for no extra cost really is what put this above and beyond to a 5/5 - the avocado was ripe and had just the right amount of it to add that rich and fatty element without being too slippery and making it hard to eat. The fries, on the other hand, were a bit soggy and thick for my liking. I had seen another photo on Yelp where they looked a lot crispier and were shaped differently, so not sure if I just got unlucky, but the sandwich more than made up for the fries in this case. I really can't say enough positive things about the torta. And even though the torta was fantastic and I gave it a 5/5, I definitely want to come back for those tacos. Three tacos plus rice for $18 is a pretty great deal, and the tacos really look incredible. My partner ordered a tongue, al pastor, and fish taco and while I didn't try them, they looked and smelled incredible. We will definitely be back!
