The actors are fun and you can tell they absolutely love doing what they do. They are there to make everyone happy including themselves and their fellow castmates. There is a bar with drinks and snacks, we've even seen shirts for sale! We are considering purchasing a "B Season Pass" so we don't miss out on the shows this coming year, some sell out fast! I hate to even give a great review because I don't want people to buy up all the seats from under us, but yet I want to also give this theater a huge and happy round of applause for being FANTASTIC!! Everyone is amazing and gracious in spite of doing this over and over and I'm certain no two shows are the same. I would only change one thing and that is that the theater request all guests to have a slight bit of theater etiquette. I understand this is an audience friendly show with interactions between cast and audience, some of these families do not prepare their children for how to behave nor correct inappropriate behavior during the performance. At last night's show a young boy hit "Billy" so hard with the stuffed rabbit that his glasses flew into my lap 5 feet away. We noticed "Billy" had a band aid on the rest of the show. Whether that was a joke or real, the boy should have been reined in by his parents long before because he was also talking or shouting out through the performance. The cast handled it with ultimate professionalism and rolled with the "punches" as it were. This truly shows how amazing they all are and why The Maverick is a great place to see a show. Now if they would just do Clue on stage again ;-)

The exposed beam interior only makes this theatre more inviting. The theatre is clean and somewhat well maintained. There was a restroom problem on the day we attended. If you look hard the location does show it's age. But don't let that fool you. This venue has good bones and provides a pleasing experience. From the balcony, the view is good. The sound could use some updating. The volume although adequate was not accompanied by a sound quality deserved by the wonderful production. More recently, we enjoyed "Frozen" and "Come From Away" and are excited for many of the upcoming shows for the season! The production quality for this mid-size theatre is excellent! The theatre is not huge, but there are many seats to fill. We have sat in rows Q, R, and S, and the views are still great! Seats are relatively comfortable and easy to find as well. Show prices will vary on where you sit, but it does feel intimate enough to connect with the actors wherever you sit. Even though we live nowhere near the area, La Mirada Theatre for the Performing Arts has become one of our favourites. Additionally , the parking lot is huge due to the many businesses in this plaza, and we've always been able to park relatively near the theater. Plenty of food options here, too! We will gladly drive the extra miles to support the arts and enjoy musical theatre in La Mirada!

They do a good job of making the pre-show experience a pleasant one. There is plenty of seating inside and outside. There is a bar inside and outside, with the same offerings. They offer themed drinks to the show. People came out to enjoy the nice weather and the pre-show experience. The bathroom had many stalls but that didn't stop the women's from forming a line. Parking is free.

On this occasion, I was invited to the performance of the RANDOM 1s (follow them on Instagram), who played a medley of Classic Rock songs from the 60s and 70s. Not just any popular song, but the music from bands who made a blockbuster hit, but did not continue with more hits or an album. These are referred to as the "One Hit Wonders." Special Guest this evening is radio personality, Shotgun Tom Kelly. He published a book and was the Emcee for the evening. A book signing event was held in the lobby before and after the show. His book is entitled "All I Wanna do is Play the Hits." One of the fun features is to do the photo through the TV, but there's no hands-free setup for that, also the TVs were not lighted up so they would come out as dark frames against the backdrop. The hands free setup is literally a SLOT that you put your phone in and hopefully with your TIMER setting (since selfie sticks are not allowed) you can run back and forth and not make anyone else in line shoot stares of death as you check your photo again. JUST GIVE an EMPLOYEE GLOVES so they can take the photos for you, I'd say if I was at the meeting. Anyways, its a couch. and i guess you come out as color and the background is like B&W set? The ballroom scene with all the ghosts is probably my favorite--it's just classic Disney storytelling. And of course, the hitchhiking ghosts at the end are always a fun touch. Wait time can get long, but it usually moves pretty steadily, and it's 100% worth it. LA is too expensive to rent space for this wonderful and fairly priced circus so they go a bit out side of LA, to Lakewood, Downey or Buena Park. It is such great fun and you have to go and take a kid or ten with you. These circuses are struggling so support them. They have performers from all over the world. All of the acts are great and the clowns are funny and they go into the audience. They don't have a bad seat in the house. And again, the prices are so far and they always have specials. Just go to their website and sign up for emails when they are in your area, which could be anywhere. The place is so cute with great popcorn, face painting and toys. It is everything a kid could want.
