Cat Nap Cat Rescue has been completely revamped and it looks amazing. The space is clean, bright, and surprisingly spacious, which makes a huge difference for both the cats and visitors. Everything felt well organized and thoughtfully designed with the cats' comfort in mind. If you're thinking about adopting or supporting a rescue that clearly cares, this place is absolutely worth a visit.

This was the first cat hang out type of place I've ever been to, never been to a cat café or anything before this, so I honestly assumed that all cat café type places would have as many cats as Catnap. I didn't realize that this was not common, especially with how well every cat gets along with each other. All the volunteers know most of the cats which I find really sweet. Everyone is incredibly kind, I adopted my first cat from here and had no issues whatsoever with getting any questions I had answered. It was my first time only a cat, and I did a lot of my own research online, but for any specific questions I had they were huge help. This cat is now the light of my life. When I initially went to Catnap, I was only trying to hang out with the kitties because I love them so much. I saw Chai(previously Kara) curled up asleep in the corner, and fell in love the moment I saw her. She's a very shy personality, but let me pet her which really charmed me. I told myself that I would wait a week before deciding to adopt her, but within that week I bought a cat tree, cat carrier, tons of wet food, cat toys, and even set up a chewy account... lol. The application process was really easy, and I was approved pretty quickly. Huge thank you to Lillian and Mary-Anne for all of their help.

My girlfriend and I went to the Catnap Kitty Bingo Bash in January 2026. It was only $20 each (the center is non-profit) and we had so much fun! There were dozens of cats just roaming around and playing with us while we played bingo and snacked. The facility is large and clean. There's multiple rooms for different moods and cat ages. The staff were very friendly. I was so impressed they could name every cat there. I would highly recommend visiting.

The owner Jayne is super easy to work with and only wants what's best for the kitties. Brianne, one of the volunteers knew all the cats and helped us pick the perfect social kitty for my daughter. Thank you! By far the best place to find your next family member. We have been to shelters all over Orange County. This place was very different. Super clean even with all the cats everywhere and we liked that we get to interact with all the cute cats before choosing the perfect one. You can really see their personalities bc CatNap makes it comfortable for them to be themselves. They also work with your situation and very knowledgeable so the whole family gets to enjoy the new addition. Thank you Cat Nap Hangouts for an incredible experience!

The cats here were super affectionate, loved them all, this one's one of my personal favorites

Really loved the kittens and the cats! They have plenty of cat toys, and there's unlimited time to hang out with the kitties. Overall, a good place if you love cats.

The staff at hangout were all friendly and helpful, the cats were so sweet, but if you are planning to adopt, they will only approve if you plan to have the cat indoor only. This was not explained during our visit. I understand it's their prerogative to be choosy, but I've had indoor cats my entire life who would go outside for a bit each day and all happily lived to old age. We have all the resources and want to share our love with a furry forever pet, and this seemed very misleading and an arbitrary measure when there are so many kitties waiting to be adopted. I thought the hangout would be perfect for my family because we could really get to know the cats and bond. My sweet kiddo fell in love during the hangout only to have our adoption denied the next day.

    My kitty now :3

I adopted my cat from this rescue about 8 months ago. The process was very quick and easy, and they even took extra care to ensure that she had all her medications and that she was in a healthy enough state to travel, since she was a kitten with a little respiratory issue at the time! The café itself is very cute and clean, and all the cats look healthy and full of personality. Loved it!

This place is cat heaven! It's a great place to come and hang and get acquainted with some cats that you can adopt. It was my second time coming around after I had a friend adopt a cat from here. All the cats are super sweet and mostly cuddly. I would sit down and I'd have to gather around me and sit on my lap! They have a separate room for smaller the kittens. The admission was $20 to hang out with the cats.

TL;DR: Cat was supposed to be spayed and never actually was spayed, contacted rescue and they refunded me the amount for the adoption and handled situation quickly and very well. Recommend them to cat adopters!! I adopted a spayed cat from here in 2021 who started going into heat a little bit after I got her. I took her to my regular vet who told me she may have ovarian remnant syndrome and gave me a quote for a surgery I couldn't afford so I ended up dealing with it until finally this year my cat had the surgery. When my vet went in to perform the surgery, she told me that my cat had two ovaries and her uterus meaning she was never actually spayed. I was pretty frustrated hearing this as my cat had been peeing on some things when she went in to heat but the vet who was supposed to do the original spay was at fault and not the rescue. I emailed the rescue with proof wanting to let them know the issue with the original spay and see if there was any chance they could refund the adoption cost since she wasn't spayed though I wasn't hopeful since it had been 4 years. Jayne emailed me back very quickly and was apologetic and offered to refund me for the issue with the spay. I adopted another cat from there in 2023 with no issues and now both cats are spayed, healthy, and happy. I'm very appreciative to Jayne for how she handled the situation and I will continue to recommend Cat Nap to those I know who want to adopt cats.

The cat nap hangout is an amazing place!!!!!! The staff here are so friendly and the cats are amazing!! I can't wait to come back here again!!!??!? The cat nap hangout is an amazing place to volunteer aswell and gain volunteer hours!!!?!!

This place is great, there are so many cats! I've only been here twice but it was so wonderful to just sit and relax. The people here really do care about all the animals and their welfare. Even if you have no intention of adopting just know that your donation is going towards a good cause.

Ask the Community - Cat Nap Hangout

Hello! 😸 My 10 year old daughter loves kitties and would love to volunteer at Cat Nap. Is that possible?

Hi there I would suggest submitting a Volunteer Form and submitting it to us us so my volunteer coordinator can overview and reach out to you I’m not really sure what scheduling she has available so that would be the best angle to use moving forward…

Can you adopt a cat from here?

Yes. We have over 100 cats wnd kittens. Please check out the website for more information

My sister passed away . Can I bring her cat to you?

Hi unfortunately. We arnt accepting any new kitties right now so sorry

When's the next cat yoga class?

Hi there we don’t have an new date set yet for Yoga please keep an eye on our website and Facebook page for more information thank you

Can I bring my kitten come in and hang out with?

Hi unfortunately. We dont allow that. All our kitties go through a strict quarantine process. But you are welcome to come and hang out with all our kitties thanks

Hi are you taking in kittens at this time?

Hi sorry not at this time

Hi, may I ask if we could bring our work to wfh at this location? Thank you!

Yes, you are absolutely can I can’t promise you, you’ll get a whole lot of work done though lol

What are the least busiest times?

Hi Monday Tuesdays typically acquired a times the weekend can vary quite a bit we are a lot busier on the weekend so it’s really hit and miss sometimes when we first open is a little bit quieter usually picks up around 2 o’clock

What's the prices now? how long can you stay? do you need to make an appointment or walk ins are available?

Hi adults are 20.00 kids under 10. 10.00. No limit unless super busy restricted to one hour. You can schedule online or walk in

Do you take in cats? I have two that have been hanging out in my backyard in my broken down truck and I want to take them to a shelter. I feed them when I can but they're too sweet to not try and find a place for them.

Hi unfortunately we are full. Maybe tey meowz rescue or little lion foundation

What is the cost of admission?

I believe it is $20 for adults; $10 for children and $10 for seniors. But what a fun afternoon it is for that price to sit and relax and play with kittens all afternoon long.....I would rather do that than go shopping !

Is there a need to call for an appointment?

Currently no! We are taking walk ins. Weekends are a bit busier but we can typically get you in no worries

Is there an age limit? As well as a time limit? With covid restrictions, how many guests can come in at a time?

No age limit. As long as kids are well Supervised time is 1 hour if busy. If quiet stay as long as you like…

I left a voicemail simply asking if there was a chance he had been brought here. Penny returned my call, and from the very beginning, she was incredibly rude and dismissive. Instead of showing even a little compassion, I was told, "Midway City is a bit far for a cat to walk," "Next pet you have, make sure you microchip them," and "He was probably eaten by a coyote or hit by a car." Honestly I was very hesitant to even rescue/adopt from here given all the stuff I've read online. There have been some crazy stories I've read. FIP is an EXTREMELY EXTREMELLLY rare disease that many vets aren't even familiar with due to its rare nature. My kitten I adopted here had FIP. Multiple reviews also state their cats had FIP and I knew someone personally who got their cat at WAGS and it came with FIP. I knew something was wrong with my cat so I brought it back to wags and their vet took one look at him and returned him home to me saying "he was perfectly normal" when all his symptoms (lethargy, bloated, not eating, diarrhea, breathing) pointed towards something severely wrong. A few weeks later I took him to another vet outside. HE WAS DIAGNOSED WITH FIP. I knew it and already told the WAGS vet this but she refused it. My vet told me my kitten was very close to dying but since the medication just got approved by the FDA a few months ago, my bay fortunately survived but it was a very very expensive and stressful journey. My cat has scars and bald spots from the medication and was screaming with pain from the injections. There was a Facebook group for FIP support and someone also got their cat from WAGS and it had FIP. The amount of cats walking out of here with FIP is concerning because it costs thousands to treat and is so painful for the cat. I called wags back to inform them of their neglect and all the front lady could say over the phone was "we're so sorry. The only option is to put him down." That was literally all. I had no words. While yes, some cats get put down for FIP, please know there is treatment for FIP now and there is hope if your cat has FIP. This place also had extremely mean workers and I hope they read this review and know that their neglect and cold hearts have killed so many innocent animals. His exam and treatment were being covered by a third-party person or organization (Hilary Strauss/ Second Chances). During the check in, hospital staff were informed of the possible cause for the cat's issues. He had possibly ingested water from a bowl that was covered in mold. The cat was dropped off under the impression that he would be treated and returned to the primary person (feeder). The cat was sedated while an x-ray was completed. He was determined to have fluid in his lungs or abdomen. The hospital and the agent for the third party (Hilary Strauss) made the decision to euthanize the cat while he was sedated. This decision was made without any signs of suffering or distress, positive results of an incurable condition, or the inclusion of the primary who delivered the cat for treatment and signed all his paperwork. An effort was made to obtain all documents related to this incident, and those requests were initially denied. The hospital finally provided the patient sign in papers, and results from the x-ray. The sign in sheet had been amended by the hospital's office manager (Sylvia Hernandez) and there were no copies of results from any exams or blood work.

But I digress... the women here need to learn better hospitality and lenience. It truly was always an uncomfortable experience coming here and then having it be an even bigger bummer when a white person comes in to visit with the cats to be treated better than us. Not saying to not come here to adopt! They handle the cats veterinary needs extremely well and are thorough But just beware of snarkiness and condescending behavior
