Before the visit, we were told the gas line would be tested (including bubble testing). When the technician arrived, the visit lasted under 10 minutes and consisted mainly of conversation. No bubble test, pressure test, or diagnostic equipment was used during that visit. We were billed $99, and the invoice stated the "gas line is fine," despite no testing being performed at that time. After we raised concerns, follow-up communication acknowledged that: * The odor appeared to be coming from the rear vents of the oven * Ricco's Plumbing does not work on appliances * We should contact TECO for further evaluation Given the seriousness of potential gas or carbon monoxide issues, we expected a more thorough diagnostic approach during the initial visit. We ultimately requested a refund because services beyond a brief discussion were not rendered. Staff were polite and responsive, but for gas or CO concerns, customers should confirm exactly what testing will be performed before scheduling.

They have inspected our backflow device for a few years now. This year it allegedly failed the…read moreinspection. We had someone come out and clean, flush, & inspect the backflow and found it to be in good clean working order. While the one who cleaned it wasn't certified to do the county inspection, we had Howz It Flowin come back out for a retest, in which they claimed it failed again. The very next day we had one of their techs come out to "repair" the backflow. All their tech did was take 1 piece apart and used a scrub pad for less than 10 seconds on something that was already cleaned and then all of a sudden it passed. I was charged an additional $165 for what looked like an attempt to just get more money out of us. They provide the cheapest backflow inspections service but I highly suspect they are only failing some just to charge more money. I have serious concerns with that, as I physically watched what they did and it was practically nothing. Perhaps it was an inexperienced tech who failed it the 2nd time who shouldn't have been inspecting in the first place but that means they shouldn't have charged me an additional $165 after I already had the alleged issue corrected by a master plumber. I will certainly pay closer attention to their inspections in the future.
