This was out first experience with the giant milkshake/icecream/decorated jar concoctions that i keep seeing everywhere! We loved them! I had the chocolate peanut butter stuffed shake and my daughter had the American celebration vanilla with strawberry shake. My son wanted just a scoop of cookies and cream icecream, but it came in a cute plastic cup with an icecream cone shaped spoon to keep. We actually came back the next day to all get single scoops because everything was so delicious. The store itself is small and gets very crowded very quickly. That and the fact that the service, while polite and friendly, was very slow, is why I can't give them 5 stars. Other than that, I would definitely recommend checking them out! read more

It was really uncomfortable, and we were the only customers in there which made it even more awkward, like they wanted us to rush our order and leave. 3 Gulls Creamery is an ice cream parlor that opened in Edisto Island, South Carolina in April 2021. It was founded by married couple David and Tavia Fogle. Part-time locals, the Fogles spent several years vacationing in Edisto Island. One of their favorite family activities after a day at the beach was grabbing some ice cream. David and Tavia eventually opened their own ice cream shop which they named "3 Gulls" in honor of their three daughters: Becca, Mary and Elie. They proudly serve over 40 flavors of Hershey's brand ice cream. 3 Gulls also offers Italian Ice, gluten and dairy-free options, stuffed milkshakes, ice cream cakes, and assorted candy. My family and I visited 3 Gulls Creamery this past summer while we were on a road trip. Edisto Island is a small beach community with only a handful of restaurants. One evening during our brief stay in the area, we noticed a large crowd of people congregating outside the creamery as we finished our dinner at a nearby restaurant. Ice cream sounded like a nice way to end the day, so we decided to pop in as well. There were so many ice cream flavors available that we had trouble choosing. Our sons shared a cup with a combo of "Lil' Blue Panda" (blue and white cookie flavored ice cream twisted together with a blue cookie dough swirl and cream-filled chocolate cookies) and "Caramel Cheesecake Cookie Monster" (cheesecake ice cream with delicious cheesecake pieces, chocolate cookie pieces, chocolate drops, and a caramel fudge swirl). My wife and I shared a cup with a combo of "Mint Moose Tracks" (premium cool mint ice cream loaded with mint filled chocolate cups and tasty Moose Tracks fudge) and "Brown Butter Bourbon Truffle" (salty caramel sauce mixed in brown butter ice cream with brown butter bourbon truffles). Let's just say that you can't be on Edisto Island without making a stop here! We were on our annual vacation trip and we go every night after dinner for ice cream... my favorites - banana pudding, moose tracks and for the kids cotton candy! Now it gets packed around 8pm - long lines especially during the summer - but it's fun and great ice cream! What a very nice ice cream parlor! Great desert after a large cookout! My family and I decided to treat ourselves to some ice cream. Everyone loved their selections! Even I enjoyed it and I couldn't tell you the last time I had any. I'm just not partial to sweets. The inside of this place is beautifully decorated with many nostalgic pieces. It had a real homey feel to it and the two young ladies working the counter did a fabulous job! The ice cream choices were too many to count! So happy to finally have a legit ice cream parlor On Edisto! I've been a few times and gotten a bunch of different things And they've always been tasty. They didn't have hot fudge for a while but they do now which is of course a game changer! Last time I went they weren't doing samples but I think that rule may have changed. I recommend going early because later in the day they tend to get super crowded and the line moves slowly (as people tend to not know what they want until they get up to the front which is annoying). I had the large cup for $7.40 which had the Cold Brew Caramocha with a robust coffee flavor and generous ribbons of salted caramel and bits of dark chocolate. The other flavor (can't remember it's name) had peanut butter and toffee bits. The ice cream was rich and creamy and full of flavor. They offer waffle cones and waffle bowls and various toppings as well as serving your options as a milk shake. I was super excited that Edisto finally got a shop that sold exclusively ice cream and shakes. Unfortunately it was not a great experience, however I'm not too upset since I paid with a gift certificate. They have a huge variety that changes often however it's Hershey's brand. You can buy this in Food Lion for a fraction of the cost. 2 (miniature) scoops cost $4.50, while adding toppings and a cone can add $10+ to the price! It's definitely not worth the wait. Speaking of wait, from 4:30-close (suppose to be 9pm however they seem to close whenever they feel like it) there's a line out of the door. The line also happens to move extremely slow. Got there at 8, left at 8:34. This is probably because they're unstaffed and their system is weird, you tell them an order and they write it in a post-it note, then another worker picks it up, then has a tough time reading it, causing a backup. Also they use the SAME scoop on every ice cream in your order. So I got bits of my other parties ice creams, while they had bits of mine. This is dangerous to people with allergies and dietary restrictions. read more

Super friendly staff with a very clean Ice cream parlor . They serve Hersey brand which is phenomenal . I am thinking probably 15 or 18 flavors. I had sea salt Carmel in a cup, my daughter got a pumpkin milkshake and her friend got a brown sugar bourbon on a waffle cone. It was delicious and reasonably priced. We will definitely go back . The ice cream store closes at 9pm and we showed up at 8:40. There was a line out the door. The owner handed me an empty bowl and said "this is the last bowl of the night" and told me to turn away anybody else that showed up. It was truly embarrassing having to turn away families with small children and others as well. This should not be the responsibility of a customer. We went for ice cream last night and they were closed at 7pm. The sign on the door said they were opening back up and 7:30pm, however when 7:30 came around, they came and took the sign off the door and cut all the lights out and closed for the night. We returned two different times today for milkshakes, and were greeted with very rude service. A few other people in a group went for milkshakes and were turned away because they weren't making milkshakes anymore tonight. The owner and workers obviously do not care about how they treat their business and I would not recommend this place to any visiting families. read more

It was very nice to find an Ice Cream parlor at Edisto. We have been coming down here for several years and this is a nice, new addition to the business community. The flavors were very good and assorted. They have lots of different flavors like, Key Like Pie, Deep Dish Apple Pie, and even a Banana Pudding ice cream. They serve waffle cones and bowls, as well as cups and other bowls. The only issue that we found was the closing time. They closed about 10 minutes early last night. So if you are wanting ice cream at a later time, you need to get there before 8:45 pm. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We were completely taken aback today with our experience at this location. Unfortunately we witnessed an older man working here who took an order from a young white gentleman wearing no shirt who proceeded to pay and take a seat in the facility, the worker then noticed a young mixed gentleman enter without a shirt as well, however this young man did have a towel draped over both shoulders and covering his top half. The employee/owner made a point to shout across the very busy store to the young man and asked him to step outside without a shirt. The young man stepped outside and the individual he was with remained in line for an extended time up until she got to the register, at which point she motioned for him to step inside briefly and asked him a question- the employee/owner then made a point to say he had asked once and he needed to leave or he would call the police because it is SC state law to wear a shirt! The young lady asked if he had not seen the white young man he served and took money from and was currently sitting in the facility without a shirt to which he responded he must not have noticed. She asked if he would like her to go let the other young man know he needed to leave as well and he said he would take care of it and asked them both to leave the premises! This was blatantly obvious what was taking place, appalling that people still operate on this level and as the couple left without being served he let the young white man know it was fine to stay. If you are a person of color, for your own sake avoid this place, if you care perhaps you want to choose to support another business too. read more
