Traveling through Florida on my way to Bonita Springs, and I searched Yelp for a fast casual place. 3 Pepper Burrito came up. I arrived just after they opened at 10:30 am. The restaurant was very clean (I would hope so as they had just opened) and the dining area was attractive and brightly decorated. My burrito was excellent. although I had planned on ordering a black bean burger burrito but ended up with just a vegetarian burrito. When the employee asked first my protein choice and I said, "Black bean burger" he seemed confused and said he didn't think they had black bean burgers as a protein choice. I pointed at the menu where it was clearly listed as a protein choice, but he just mumbled something that I didn't understand and shook his head. So I just ordered a burrito with rice, pinto beans, corn, tomato, cheese salsa and guacamole. I began to suspect that maybe the employee was new, because he had a lot of trouble folding my burrito and finally had to start over with a new tortilla. Actually I can't fold a burrito properly either so I'm not complaining, just noting that he seemed to be new. The ingredients were all fresh and tasty. We walked in to a staff that did not greet us, seemed disappointed that we ruined their day and focused on their take out orders. The service was abysmal. Once we got three words out of them, they were slightly pleasant. The food was good, but not great. I loved the nachos, but my husband says the burrito was just okay. Like chipotle only yummy! Hand made tortillas, super fresh ingredients that you get to pick from and great guacamole- what more can you want from a fast food joint! I know other reviews said it was dirty but I'm very picky about cleanliness and I had no issues whatsoever. Absolute garbage. We stopped here off the highway on the way home from a road trip and had the unfortunate unpleasantry of stumbling into this trash heap of a "Mexican" restaurant. First, there was no changing table in either the women's or men's bathroom. I had to go change my baby in my car while we waited for their food. Second, the food is so unmistakably bland. People with covid aren't missing much because there's absolutely nothing to taste in this food. The pinto beans have a little bit of cumin (just enough so that they almost taste like chili) and that's it. The queso is basically yellow rotel (Ugh). The salsa, I swear to god, they buy at Costco. Just when I thought Chipotle or Qdoba were "Americanized" enough, this villain of a restaurant opens as if to tell others fast-food style insult to Mexican food restaurant, "hold my cerveza, let's make this even worse." I'd say my taste buds were assaulted, but literally there was nothing in this food to assault them. Hard pass. What a blasphemous mistake of an establishment. I'm literally eating just enough of this to hold me over until I get home from our road trip and can eat something worth eating, plus I already paid for it. read more

This afternoon we visited 3 Pepper Burrito Co. at 24065 Peachland Blvd, Port Charlotte.  It is located in the Peachland Promenade in the same general area as Publix and Jet's Pizza.  My wife was intrigued by the name of 3 Pepper Burrito.We arrived and there were a couple of people in the place.  We noticed right away that it was clean, bright and airy.  The order started on the left side.  I had already decided what I wanted to try so I ordered a Burrito Bowl with barbacoa beef double portion and the usual fixings. I like my food spicy hot so I ordered raw jalapenos and their hot sauce.  My wife ordered the same sans the hot stuff.  We got 2 burrito bowls, chips and salsa came with it and 2 drinks. The bill for 2 of us was a shade under $30 which I thought was reasonable.  The food was good.  We could have used some more sauce on the barbacoa as it was a little dry, but they did have some of their signature hot sauce by the fountain drinks, which I used liberally.The people were very friendly and helpful.  There were several couples that came in while we were eating, but they all took their food to go.  Which seems like what most people decided to do.  What was strange is that they do not have a public restroom, or if they did, it was not marked at all.  They did though, have a bowl and a faucet, soap and paper towels but the Fountain Drinks and the sign said, for washing hands only.  I have NEVER seen that in any other place and I wonder if it is just an oddity or do they have that in other stores as well.  It struck us as odd.  Anyway, the food is good and reasonably priced, so if you are in the area, they would be a good place to check out.  I am sure you will enjoy them as much as we did! read more

They put uncooked white rice in both burritos!!! NOT COOL!! My husband and I stopped here for lunch on our way back to Ft. Lauderdale from Clearwater, FL. The girls working there were pleasant and helpful in helping us to decide what we wanted. My husband chose a burrito which he built with his favorites and was the largest and best he said he ever had! I chose the two-taco special plate (one pork and one ground beef). The taco shells were homemade and hugh, crispy and delicious and they were layered with my choice of pinto beans and then the meat and toppings. I happened to be in the area and thought I'd give this a try. What a happy surprise. I had a small chicken quesadilla. The server filled it happily with everything I wanted and it was stuffed full. Freshly made tortilla, tasty rice, black beans, chicken (lots), cheese and red onion. She then pressed it and gave me a side of chipotle ranch. It was delish. I had to ask for a to go box and bring it to my neighbor because it was too much food (he happens to be Mexican and thought it was good too). We waited months for this spot to open and were excited when we could finally try it out during their 2nd week. Everything was spotlessly clean and inviting when we entered. The freshly made tortillas is a great idea and they were really good. My husband ordered a burrito and I ordered a chicken bowl. Unfortunately, we were really disappointed with the lack of flavor in the chicken. We didn't order the "spicey" one because we weren't sure if wouldn't be too much spice but we also didn't expect to have absolutely no flavor at all in the "regular" chicken. We're used to Indian & Mexican food and enjoy flavorful dishes but didn't want to take a chance on it being too much at this new spot we weren't familiar with. We shouldn't have to add sauces to be able to have any flavor on cooked chicken. Sorry, but that just doesn't make sense. Flavor doesn't mean "hot & spicey" always. Chicken at the Chip is flavorful ... Also, you might offer folks a small bite on a toothpick or something of your spicey chicken so they can decide if it is too much or just right for them. Man, I was hitting this place once a week for about 6 months up until a month ago. I'll tell you why. But I'll give you the pro's first. Food is somewhat authentic and fresh which is expected from a local chain. I like how they have variety of meats and make their tortillas fresh. That was something new that I have never seen before. So for those who complain about burritos being inconsistent with size, that's most likely why. You can't have perfection in an imperfect world. Also, the queso is great and flavorful and the chips have a nice touch to them. Now for the con: about a month ago, I got bad food poisoning from there. I'm not sure if it was an "off day" or some food mishandling in the back or up front. It happens and I'm not upset. Should be looked into. Was not surprised when I read reviews with similar stories. Went back recently to give them another shot and I had no issues. Three stars because the food is above average, minus 1 Star for the food poisoning and minus another for lack of variety for things to put on the burrito or bowl. Also great prices! Not looking to bash the establishment, just want people to be aware and to know that just because you have one bad interaction with their product doesn't meant they won't bounce back!
