Beef chimichanga queso dip - ground beef burrito

The food along with the service was very good - while coming in we were told to grab the seat we wanted - thanks again

This place was highly recommended, so we tried it. We were greeted and served by the owner, Jose. He was very friendly, told us about the menu, and let us try some items first. He was very personable about the restaurant and his family, which was reflected in his food and service. The food was amazing. Enjoy the pictures!

Quick service, good hot sauce, cold drinks and delish chicken nachos. The shredded chicken was seasoned well, perhaps a bit too salty. This is easily solved by dipping into their hot sauce and washing it down with a margarita.

Quick service, great recommendations and the food fresh and delicious. I guess my expectations weren't set too high. The food was crazy great! Drinks were also delicious and refreshing. The chips were just ok, but the salsa made up for it. We ended up with a second salsa as we enjoyed it so much.Highly recommend.

We were traveling from Fort Myers to Tampa and for lunch we searched around us to have lunch. We came across Isabel & Annabel's Mexican Restaurant. It is a Mexican restaurant in Punta Gorda and has a roadside parking in front of them. When we entered the restaurant it was around 3:00pm so it was pretty much empty. We got seated on our table and greeted by our server Marvin with the menus and since it was around 3:00pm the lunch menu was going to be closed at 3:00pm. So by checking out the menu we quickly decided to order Isabella Quesadilla Lunch & Chicken Fajita Lunch plate. Soon our server got water and along with water he also got us Chips and Salsa. The chips and salsa were good and was perfect for food before lunch. The service was good and soon we got our lunch too. Isabella Quesadilla Lunch was good and delicious. Amazing lunch plate. Chicken Fajitas was also delicious and chicken was cooked perfectly and had an amazing taste. Amazing and delicious food with good price too.

First time we tried this restaurant and unfortunately it will be our last time. The restaurant was clean and cutely decorated. The wait staff was good, fast and attentive. The food though was so bland. The carne asada tacos had no taste. The refried beans and guacamole were also tasteless. They definitely needed salt and they didn't even have that on the table. The margarita tasted like dish soap. The only thing good was the free chips and salsa and electronic menus. This place was definitely not authentic Mexican food. We know good authentic Mexican food being from Chicago.

    Salsa verde and red salsa

New in town...desperately seeking an authentic Mexican restaurant. I feel like, in my humble opinion, the salsa is a good indication of the authenticity of the food to follow. Super bummed about this place! The salsa verde has no flavor at all, good or bad and the red salsa is also just as flavorless. I am not even quite sure how you make something have no flavor at all. On the up side their steak tacos were good, but you will need to add avacado if you need any moisture because the salsa's are completely flavorless. They do not serve horchata. Also, I am big on vibe, and the music in this place is quite terrible, gospel music and not even good gospel music. Sorry guys...I fought parking to try your place because I really need a good Mexican restaurant, this was not an authentic experience.

Hubby and I were looking for a good dinner and this place knocked our socks off! Isabel was our server and she recommended Isabel's chicken quesadilla and her burrito. I got the quesadilla, hubby got the burrito. Oh my goodness it was delicious. The chicken was perfectly seasoned and so tender. There was so much flavor! My husband loved the pico that came with his burrito so much, Isabel brought out a bowl for him. Sincerely wish this restaurant was in our hometown, because we would eat here often. If you are in Punta Gorda, you won't be disappointed by the food or the service. They were both excellent. Chicken Fajitas

Very overpriced for the quality and portion of food. Not a comfortable, relaxing dining experience- more of a cafeteria experience!

I visited on two consecutive nights and had vastly different experiences…read more On the first visit, I dined in and was immediately acknowledged by our server, who was attentive throughout the meal, frequently checking on my drink and ensuring we were comfortable. Even when we accidentally stayed past closing time, she politely informed us without making us feel rushed. The food itself was decent--not exceptional, but very reasonable for the price. The second day, I opted for takeout and had a completely different experience. I walked in and sat at the same table, but no one acknowledged me for about 15-20 minutes, despite there being only one other occupied table in the restaurant. Just as I was about to leave and find another place to eat, a server rushed over to apologize for the delay. When my order was ready, a different employee was about to mistakenly give it to another table. When he offered it to me and I inquired about the order to make sure it was mine, he admitted he wasn't sure and had to check. A few minutes later, yet another person simply asked if I had ordered takeout and handed me the bag. At this point, I waited another 5-10 minutes just to pay. When the original server finally returned, he asked if I had checked the contents of the bag--a strange question, considering it should be their responsibility to ensure accuracy. I took the server's question at face value, but it's very possible that they were being sarcastic. At that point, it didn't matter what was in the bag. I had to leave to go work. Again, the food was acceptable. However, it was not worth the wait and hassle. Though the first visit was fine, the poor service the very next day was remarkable. To make things worse, the restaurant didn't even include utensils in the bag. It's well apparent that some of the staff could benefit from training. When reviewing restaurants on Yelp, I think it's important to set fair expectations based on the type of establishment. This place seems geared towards a lively atmosphere, so I adjusted my expectations accordingly. However, even considering the dining category, certain standards should still be met Lastly, a restaurant that is capable of providing such subpar service probably shouldn't prompt for a minimum 25% tip on takeout orders at their credit card terminal. That was laughable and I am at least grateful for having a good laugh on the way out.

It may not be bright and shiny but it's worth the stop. We had chips and salsa about 2 minutes after we sat down. The server was polite and answered all my questions and did not steer me wrong. I think the burrito was big enough for 3 and I got a to- go box to proof it. They had a local band that was primarily country, so that only made it better. You could easily drive by and miss it, or you can watch for the bright light and listen for the musicians.

Everything was timely. We had the table-side guacamole, but they didn't prepare it table-side. It was still very good. Entrees were very good. It is quite loud but that doesn't bother me a bit if the food is good. Chips and salsa were outstanding. I couldn't get enough of those chips because they were nice and salty and I loved that. The salsa was so much better than I have gotten in years in a Mexican restaurant. Our server Anthony from Jamaica was incredible. Enjoyed his interpretation and personal favorites on the menu. I would definitely ask to sit in his area. Extremely personable but not over the top. We had the snapper tacos to start. They were tasty and I especially liked the pickled onions. They are definitely an appetizer and not an entree. I had the Yucatan shrimp with crispy onions and cilantro lime rice and my partner had the beef barbacoa burrito with rice and black beans. I clearly had the winning dish. The shrimp was a generous portion and worth the 32 dollars. Shrimp were huge and cooked perfectly with a delicious mojo sauce and crispy onions along with the tasty rice that had great textures and the sauce made that dish sing. Outstanding! My husband's burrito was fine but the tortilla had somewhat of a bready texture, not at all like a tortilla and there was a spice in it that I did not care for. Couldn't identify it and I have been to Mexico over 20 times. My husband liked it fine. He enjoyed his beer but I felt like that wine pour was definitely chintzy for 13 bucks. It was a delightful evening and an asset to the area. But once again, my dish was the clear winner!!! For whatever reason my photos aren't loading due to the glitches cellphones have had today, but I will add them as soon as this issue is resolved. Enjoy!
