The food was so salty I couldn't finish it . I had the taco/enchilada combo with chicken and the chicken was def over salted. Salsa had a nice kick but not authentic and neither were the chips. Disappointing since I was hungry, visiting the area and was choosing between this or another place but chose this one because I liked the idea of a small, family restaurant. This place was a total disaster. We sat in a room with a DJ there was no one in the restaurant the main part or where you were my grandson ordered the guacamole. It was solid, green and salty. We ordered some tacos and burritos the same nasty meat was in each one of them. The food made me physically ill. When I got home. FANTASTIC carnitas fajitas. i've never had pork fajitas (i love pork) (and fajitas) and they are absolutely fantastic. had date night plans tonight that i had been looking forward to all week mainly for the food and it did NOT disappoint. We were traveling from Fort Myers to Tampa and for lunch we searched around us to have lunch. We came across Isabel & Annabel's Mexican Restaurant. It is a Mexican restaurant in Punta Gorda and has a roadside parking in front of them. When we entered the restaurant it was around 3:00pm so it was pretty much empty. We got seated on our table and greeted by our server Marvin with the menus and since it was around 3:00pm the lunch menu was going to be closed at 3:00pm. So by checking out the menu we quickly decided to order Isabella Quesadilla Lunch & Chicken Fajita Lunch plate. Soon our server got water and along with water he also got us Chips and Salsa. The chips and salsa were good and was perfect for food before lunch. The service was good and soon we got our lunch too. Isabella Quesadilla Lunch was good and delicious. Amazing lunch plate. Like eating at a mall! This is going to sound stupid but the food was actually OK to good. The 'upscale margarita' was anything but... it was lousy. Server was indifferent (perhaps she was new). Pricing was high for Mexican - perhaps due to rent issues being downtown. All in all, there are other Mexican restaurants you should go to. read more

First time we tried this restaurant and unfortunately it will be our last time. The restaurant was clean and cutely decorated. The wait staff was good, fast and attentive. The food though was so bland. The carne asada tacos had no taste. The refried beans and guacamole were also tasteless. They definitely needed salt and they didn't even have that on the table. The margarita tasted like dish soap. The only thing good was the free chips and salsa and electronic menus. This place was definitely not authentic Mexican food. New in town...desperately seeking an authentic Mexican restaurant. I feel like, in my humble opinion, the salsa is a good indication of the authenticity of the food to follow. Super bummed about this place! The salsa verde has no flavor at all, good or bad and the red salsa is also just as flavorless. I am not even quite sure how you make something have no flavor at all. On the up side their steak tacos were good, but you will need to add avacado if you need any moisture because the salsa's are completely flavorless. They do not serve horchata. Also, I am big on vibe, and the music in this place is quite terrible, gospel music and not even good gospel music. Hubby and I were looking for a good dinner and this place knocked our socks off! Isabel was our server and she recommended Isabel's chicken quesadilla and her burrito. I got the quesadilla, hubby got the burrito. Oh my goodness it was delicious. The chicken was perfectly seasoned and so tender. There was so much flavor! My husband loved the pico that came with his burrito so much, Isabel brought out a bowl for him. Sincerely wish this restaurant was in our hometown, because we would eat here often. Couple of firsts: draft Corona is more expensive than in the bottle...and I'm not sure if the drat glass is more ounces than the bottle. Either way, draft is $5.50 per. And numero two: when the server asked if we were finished and we responded "Yes", and she promptly walked away to prepare the check without picking up anything from the table. There was no busser and we were the only table in the restaurant. Then she returned with the check but still did not clear anything. I hate to be so snarky but an attentive server never leaves a table empty handed. The hot sauce is very good and we enjoyed the meal. read more

After searching on Yelp for a Mexican restaurant relatively close to an i75 exit I settled on this one. Suffice it to say I was somewhat disappointed with the dining experience. There were a few other occupied tables and a gaggle of servers. Somehow service was a bit slow. I settled on the big burrito because the menu claimed it came with guacamole. It was served without guacamole. When I finally got a server's attention to inquiry about the missing 'essential' I was informed that the restaurant was out of guacamole because no avocados had arrived for several days. When the bill came of course there was no deductions or explanation as to the lack of guacamole. Overall the burrito was average at best. The rice and beans were placeholders on the plate. Tonight I went to Isabel and Annabella's Mexican restaurant in downtown Punta Gorda. I ordered two chili Rellenos I cut into my dinner and was just about to take a bite when the waitress came over and said the cook made a mistake and gave me three instead of two. She came with a dish and a spatula and wanted to take one away to give to another diner I told her that was not acceptable. She said in that case she would need to charge me for three. At that point, I was disgusted and said, take it all away. I did ask for the manager and she did not hear what I was saying, she defended the waitress and the cook. I'm not really sure that reviewing this restaurant is fair at this time. I certainly appreciate being able to eat out again. However, to have plastic tableware and cups is a tough pill to swallow and still pay fairly high prices for basic Mexican food. We were the only patrons eating inside and yet we waited longer then necessary to order and get refills on water and salsa. It was really salty, mix it with the rice and beans and the combination would've worked out. But not everyone likes the mix of foods. When she complained , all she got was a sorry from two employees. They didn't offer to give her a different chicken. Didn't offer to lower her bill or anything. That's why they got a 4. Other than that, it was ok. Management was nonexistent on this evening! We arrived here about 5:45 and the place was very busy, with three servers hustling around to their tables. Our order was taken after an appropriate wait and we received chips and salsa during our wait. Other tables who were seated after us, in some cases 30 mins after, received their food. Our waitress stopped by our table three times to apologize for our wait and offered free dessert, but no manager or otherwise came by to explain or apologize. A table beside ours was seated approximately 45 mins after we were seated and were visibly upset. We left after being there for 1h 45 mins and only our waitress came back to say sorry.
