About a year and a half ago, we got a quote for new windows from Renewal by Anderson and it was completely outrageous! The cost was way too high and the salesman was unprofessional. We ended up getting a quote from Andy's Glass last fall for significantly less money and with a better warranty! Obviously we went with Andy's and the windows were a huge update on our house. We are very happy with the look and quality! The most recent home update they completed for us was a new front door. I already knew exactly what I wanted and they were able to make it happen and again, for a great price! I appreciate that they never try to talk me into something else, they are always on time, and they are very communicative. Our front door was installed by Miguel C and Eric and they did an excellent job. They were on time, polite, and the install went seamlessly! He said that due to the width of the opening and us wanting a sliding glass door, he would have to frame the opening to accommodate the sliding glass door. He provided us with several options and we picked the best one that suited us. Jay immediately started framing and when the glass pieces came in, he and his crew came out and finished the framing and installation. We've used a different shower glass company multiple times in the past for our last house we remodeled and LOVE that company but figured this time around we could try Glass Guru for this newly remodeled shower because they are more local and our previous experience with them was great! Unfortunately, this experience was subpar, 2/5 stars (hence my 3/5 star rating, I split the difference between my two experiences with this company). Setting up the estimate appt was easy and they came out quickly. The estimate arrived promptly as well. We decided to pull the trigger and that's slightly where it went downhill. Due to the tile we used, I did ask the estimator Jay what option would be best. Floating shower doors or a set up that had metal trim around the whole thing that holds the glass in a more sturdy manner.. he said either would work. When the guys came to install, they didn't really seem to know what they were doing. The end result looked very sloppy, the clear silicone looked like it was pasted on by a 5 year old and a black trim piece placed along the bottom was crooked. When I mentioned this to Jay, he said he would happily replace the trim piece but would need to order it. When I told him this was our only real "complaint" he followed up with a statement "well, so I have a complaint now, the tile you used is really thin". Um, ok, what does that have to do with this situation?! I asked from the beginning what shower glass would be best and was told that any would be ok but now we're talking about how thin my tile is?! What a very odd statement to make to a customer AFTER install. This should be assessed prior to install AND I asked what glass set up would be best for our shower. Anyhow, 2-3 weeks went by after mentioning all of this and complete silence. I had to actually call to ask when this new trim piece would be installed and then they finally set up the appt. When a customer has an issue with something, they shouldn't be the one to have to call and follow up, right? The same kids came to install the new piece and they did a better job but as I sit here today writing this, no one has followed up with me to see how everything looks now. The customer service is non existent with this company. I will definitely be returning to Exquisite Shower Glass in Corona for my next shower remodel, not Glass Guru. They might be good at some glass related things but sliding shower glass doors don't seem to be it.

The deciding factor was their reasonably priced door with a built-in doggie door for our two 70 lb dogs go outside to fo their thing. Other companies either didn't offer this option or quoted more than double the price. Our sales representative, Larry, was exceptionally knowledgeable and friendly. Scheduling and installation were quick and efficient. The installation team did a beautiful job. Apologies for the dirty windows/dog door, we've had them up a few months. After 3 months, the doors are holding up great. We will definitely be using Ameristar again when it's time to replace our windows.

Several of the windows in my home face due south. Although they were double pane, they had almost…read morezero insulation remaining after 25 years of massive sun. The temperature in the south facing bedroom on a hot 90 degree plus day would always be nine degrees hotter than the rest of the house. I decided to replace not only the four windows in the south facing bedroom, but six other windows that can be viewed in the same field of vision from the street, to keep the aesthetics consistent. The replacement windows I selected are double pane argon gas filled to help keep the heat out during the summer season. I put out a bid on Yelp and narrowed the field down to two companies, Note I did not select the least expensive bid, but actually selected the most expensive bid. My reasoning was a solid five star Yelp rating, BBB A+++ rating and the knowledge and excellent follow up provided by the salesperson, David White. Other factors in my decision were silver coating on the glass to reduce the intense green hue that most argon gas filled windows exhibit and exterior window casings that are solid without decorative ribs that would collect dirt. I was provided with a detailed explanation of the process and same day estimate. The process from start to finish took five weeks. This would have been as little as two weeks if I did not have an arch top window. Curved windows take longer to build, at least for Ameristar. It took me a while to prepare the two rooms, so I was not in a big hurry. The installation was done yesterday. The crew was on time, polite, and from my view, was extremely careful and exhibited excellent attention to detail. The 10 windows were installed in one day. The crew cleaned up their mess very well and everything went according to plan. I am completely satisfied with the entire process. The windows are very elegant looking, not so green and make the house look better. I trust that the temperature in the south facing bedroom will level out with the rest of the house with the argon gas in the windows. Five stars all the way. Well done.

Just like the first project, Dave was extremely responsive and his quote ended up being much better than my neighbors fence guy. My neighbor also wanted to perfectly match the vinyl fence he had installed previously on the other side of his yard and Dave just took one look at a photo and instantly knew the brand name and color and was able to get that material while still honoring the quote. So we went with Dave. While Dave was completing the fence my neighbor was having some major renovation work done in his home and he had a lot of contractors out there at the same time. Daves work and professionalism impressed the other contractors who were out there too, so much so that my neighbor said they (the other contractors) plan on calling Dave for their fence work as well. That's how you know Dave is good - he's the contractor that other contractors call when they need fencing done! Thanks again Dave!

A few days ago, they had several mid-century style pieces of furniture that were new. Seems like most of the furniture are manufacturer closeouts, or dent and scratches, This Habitat ReStore amazes me, because it is in a nice modern industrial building, which I have never seen Habitat occupy. The others I have been to , are in the oldest most run down buildings in low rent areas. However, as nice as this building is, you look way up at the ceiling, there is no AC or other cooling system. It was over 100 degrees when I bought this chair, outside temp. They leave the front door open for the breeze but you feel all the hot air, that is hotter than the temp inside the building. The employee at the cash register, near the open door where all the hot air was coming in, said "Yep, no AC". But if you didn't have air circulating, even hot air, it would be a greater hotter oven. They have a separate room, where they sell small stuff, not even related to building or home stuff, like bike helmets. The thing about this store, the things they sell here are newer, and not used and sometimes broken and chipped, like the other Habitat ReStores have. The donations come from manufacturers or commercial businesses rather than individual donors that are remodeling their homes, or got a new piece.

I really hate to do this but I had to come back and update my review…read more Where to start. My first project with Jemner was the repair project where my AC didn't have a water level sensor shutoff and the condensation overflowed and poured through my ceiling. They made it look like it never happened. A couple years later I decided to hire him for a much bigger project of painting cabinets, walls, new counter tops, backsplash, baseboards etc. At first, the cabinets looked INCREDIBLE. Everything we hoped for. But after living in it for a few months the paint began to split and flake away. (See photos). You can tell a lot of the cabinets weren't sanded or filled correctly. The satin paint finish (Jemner's recommendation - said it was what he recommended to everyone) either wasn't capable of the abuse kitchen cabinets take or it wasn't prepped/applied correctly. Either way, it wasn't a good result. Every single cabinet door that they reinstalled after being painted had the hinges screwed back in using a power drill with no max torque setting which allowed the screws to rip away at the wood. This resulted in every single... and I mean EVERY SINGLE cabinet hinge coming loose after a few weeks because the screws had nothing to grip on. Open the door and it immediately drops 1/4 inch. If you didn't notice that happen then when you shut the door, instead of it going back into place, it would bump into the cabinet door above or below it immediately chipping the paint despite having soft closing hinges (that's how bad the paint job was). When they reattached the drawer fronts they didn't screw the fronts back into the drawer box the way they should be (inside of the box straight into the drawer front). Instead they just held the fronts up against the drawer box and sent new randomly sized screws into the inner corners of the box and into the front which has left nearly every front slightly unlevel. I only noticed this today (hence why I finally decided to update this review) when one started really going uneven and I went to investigate. What I found was the inner corner screws and noticed they sent a screw through the paint of the drawer front when reattaching the fronts and then crudely painted over it (it's so obvious now that I am aware of it). Terrible work. In addition to the shoddy paint job and reinstallation of the cabinet doors - he charged me for the paint ($800) in addition to the price he quoted me despite saying the total included all paint and materials. Moving onto my door frames. What a nightmare. They had to come back multiple times to fix their work. They missed spots with the paint, they got paint on the wall (different color) all around the place. They PAINTED OVER MY DOOR HINGES and their justification was "you said you were going to replace them eventually". Oh, so I guess in the meantime I want them crudely painted over with white paint?? Also, since they had to sand and paint the inner door frames to match the new paint, almost none of my doors will shut correctly now. I tiled my guest bathroom myself but didn't want to deal with the baseboards so I hired them for that too. That was probably the best result of everything in this big project despite it being pretty awful. every corner where the baseboards meet for a 90 degree turn had gaps between them and were unbelievably crudely caulked to fill the 1/4 inch gaps. I can't tell you how much paint I've had to clean off of my hardwood floors, windows, and furniture. Thank god I went with matte wall paint because it has been fairly easy to remove with warm water. But let me just say, they did not care about where paint went. My $800 soundbar with a fabric front and the back of my brand new 70" TV in my living room where they painted the walls had paint all over them and couldn't get it removed. I have tried to get them to remedy it but every time they come to fix one thing they make something else worse. Jemner and his son are very nice but their team is lazy and unskilled. Now the worst part. Disgusting even. One of the guys (maybe more than one) used the guest bathroom when nature called. I didn't think it was right to deny them that access when Jemner asked me if they could during the project. Well, after they left for the day mid project, I went to use the bathroom and noticed something in the trash bin. There was a huge and THICK smudge/smear of poop on top of the bin with toilet paper hanging from it. They were throwing their poopy toilet paper into my out in the open trash bin instead of flushing it. Wretched! The worst part is it was left in such a way that there is NO WAY they didn't realize it was fully exposed like that. Epilogue: they ate all of our fancy/expensive handmade chocolate my wife and I brought back from our first ever trip to Europe. Jemner offered to buy us more but it was from a small hole in the wall chocolate shop in Italy so it was irreplaceable. Point being, his team is rude and inconsiderate.
