They were efficient, beyond courteous and paid close attention to detail. We would not hesitate to work with them again, nor to recommend them. For those who talk about the price difference, Medina Exterior's price was on par with another very reputable high-end company In the area with whom we also visited. In the past we had worked with another company which turned out to be a bitter disappointment. Dealing with that company and Medina Exteriors and Simply Distinct Kitchens & Baths was like comparing a tricycle to a Harley Davidson. With regard to the comment about a "consultation fee" - if you have been to any well-honed company, you would know this is how they all function. Why would anyone spend time, draw up specs, etc. for you to decide you don't want to do the job, or put it off for another year? The entire crew coming to view the project? It's fantastic. Each has questions about details and suggestions that you, yourself don't think of. When they leave, you feel that you've met with each professional that is going to be in your home working on your project. It's the formation of a good working relationship. Lastly, Medina Exteriors has an excellent reputation for standing behind their work. If they have come back for any small thing, they have done so promptly, efficiently and pleasantly. If you choose Medina Exteriors, you are working with good people who do quality work.

What began as a straightforward replacement project--one that reasonably should have cost in the…read morerange of $15,000--has turned into an extremely disappointing and costly experience. Not only did the project escalate to just under $23,000 with the original contractor, but due to ongoing issues and incomplete or unsatisfactory work, we were forced to hire additional contractors, bringing the total cost to $30,000 plus. Throughout the process, there was a clear lack of transparency in pricing, poor project management, and a failure to set realistic expectations. Costs continued to rise without adequate explanation or justification, leaving us feeling misled and frustrated. Even more concerning was the quality and completeness of the work, which ultimately did not meet acceptable standards and required further intervention at our own expense. The one leading the project had no business in doing so. She was consistently rude, unprofessional, and showed a clear lack of understanding of what she was doing. After numerous conversations and items missed during the quote and/or left out and then overcharges for her mistake, instead of providing guidance or solutions, interactions were frustrating and unproductive, which only made an already bad situation worse. There was no competence or accountability, just further confusion and poor communication. A project of this scale should be handled with professionalism, clear communication, and accountability. Unfortunately, this experience fell far short on all fronts. What should have been a manageable replacement project turned into a prolonged, stressful, and unnecessarily expensive ordeal and anyone who has viewed our replacement their jaws have dropped. It's embarrassing to say the least. I will leave you with this, the owner Jim, who was wonderful and who we spoke to (finally towards the end) offered to tear it down and replace after all was said and done, but unfortunately, he was getting ready to retire and he had nothing to do with the initial scope and project and were afraid it might be even worse so we chose to go with another contractor. For him to say that - - you know it's bad... I would like to start all over and never use them but obviously that is not an option at this point. I would strongly urge others to please proceed with caution and ensure all details are in writing, timelines, and costs are explicitly outlined and adhered to before committing.

He thought the water might not have been escaping, and instead, pooled up causing a belly in the flex tubing. Over time, he wondered if the water released back toward the fan and settled in around the fan, causing staining on the ceiling. He fixed it but said that may not be the root cause but to reach back out if the problem seemed to get worse. It's been about a year and the problem wasn't fixed. I reached back out and he came out the same day to try and figure out the problem. He decided to replace all of the tubing in both exhaust fans with an insulated tubing (thinking condensation was the issue). He, once again, said to reach out if it wasn't fixed. BOTH TIME, HE WANTED NO MONEY FOR HIS TIME. He said it was a very simple job and not much time. I wouldn't let him leave without taking money, but with companies charging lots of money for estimates, it's amazing to see a company willing to go to this extent - actually do the job and not ask for money says a lot about him and the company. It's great having a company you trust for home repairs. I won't need another number - and you shouldn't either!!

Joe came out, took a look what was going on, and gave me an estimate that was identical in scope but half the price of another estimate we received so we opted to go with Eames and Sons. Joe was fantastic to work with and kept me up-to-date on scheduling of the entire process, from dropping off a trailer for the old roofing materials, dropping off the new materials, the actual day of work, etc. The Eames and Sons crew came out, did the work in a single day, and then Joe came out the next day for an inspection. Joe noticed some of the work wasn't up to the Eames and Sons standards, so he had someone from the crew come back out and redo it and then came back out the same day to check on the work again. I also noticed that some of the mortar between bricks near some of the work seemed to now be missing and he came back out on his own time to fill in the gap. Eames and Sons, and specifically Joe, definitely went out of their way to make sure our roof was perfect and that I no longer needed to worry about the leak we found. This was a fantastic experience, and I would definitely recommend others use Eames and Sons for their roofing needs. EDIT: I noticed some damage to a window screen after the dump trailer was moved away. Joe fixed the screen himself and sent someone else out to take care of some of the metal around the window as well. Eames and Sons has gone above and beyond what I expected and they have set a very high bar for any work that gets done around our house in the future.

Renewal by Andersen of Cleveland - Beautiful Anderson replacement sliding door

This review is a long time coming. I know I should have written it a long time ago…read more We had a sliding patio door replaced by "Renewal by Andersen" back near the end of the COVID pandemic. Yes, that long ago. But every time I see their commercial I think I should write this review. Well now I'm doing it. After looking at their products I was very impressed. The materials and workmanship were beautiful. So we had them come out and look at our project. The initial visit went well. I liked what they had to say and what they offered for the price. We ordered a new sliding door for our sunroom. We knew it would be a bit of a wait, that was ok. COVID was effecting most manufacturing with manpower shortages. Finally the day came when or new door was delivered and the crew would install it. Two very nice and very experienced gentlemen showed up. They unpacked the new door to find rather significant flaws in the finish. To their credit, they showed it to us immediately and recommended they order a replacement rather than installing this one. We agreed. There was another LONG wait until the new, new door showed up. On that day the same crew showed up. They unpacked and inspected it and we all gave it our approval. So the install began. They removed the old door assembly. Prepped the opening. And set the new door in place... just to find, to all of our horror, the door was too short for the opening. It was a full 6 inches short! The installer immediately called their office and informed them of the disaster. They, intern made a million apologies and then proceeded to rush order another door. The installers jury-rigged the wrong door in place to fill the opening (in the middle of winter) until the 3rd new door arrived. Finally the day came when the new, new, new door arrived with the installers. They inspected it, measured it, and when satisfied installed it. Finally... It was done. The finished product is beautiful. It works beautifully. We love it. I'm glad we have it. I wonder every time I look at it if it was worth it. You will have to decide that for yourself.
