One of our favorite dives in the neighborhood. Bartenders are always friendly and whether you want a beer, wine or cocktail they've got you covered. Large patio area right off University the more than can accommodate large groups. Decently priced and classic.

UPDATE!! They got these rocking blue curtains for pretty much all of the walls. I don't know why I love them. But I LOVE them. They make the 331 even better. Go! but not all at once, now. This is my favorite bar. I started coming here when I first moved to the Cities, trucking up from South Minneapolis to see folks like Darren Jackson and Charlie Parr, because there's never any cover. Which I love. They have Bell's Two Hearted (it's gone now! :( 10/25/07 - but they have Pilsner Urquell now and Finnegan's), Surly Bender, and Grain Belt on tap. They also have wireless internet. Last month I sat on their University Ave patio and coughed on truck exhaust while I checked my email. Love it! Trivia on Sunday's with Chuck and Sean is often hysterical. They never start on time (which would by 9pm), but get there early if you want a table. You might plan on making friends or at least sharing your table because this is a pretty tiny place, and it fills up for trivia. Check out the burlesque shows. We don't do burlesque in the Minneap so much, and you've got to hand it to the 331 to support it. Caveats: no windows, which is only weird in the daytime; unique smell, which you'll grow fond of; hard to move sometimes - what can you do. Look for the talented Mr. Rob Skoro behind the bar (he'll be the one with a feather in his hat) - he's a local singer-songwriter with a national audience. And a heckuva barman. I dig also Raleigh's Texas Tacos on Tuesdays. $2.50 margaritas, hard to beat. And if you remember anything, be it this: Half-price bottles of (very decent) wine until 9 o'clock (that's late, folks) from Sunday to Thursday.

    Outside of the 331.

The 331 Club is great I'm sure for 331 reasons, but there's only one reason why I go. Yes there's trivia, live bands and spelling bees, but none of these compare to Blingo on Tuesday evenings from 7-9 p.m. with Ellie. The drink special of the evening is 2 for 1 Lone Star beers and mojitos. Blingo is the form of bingo you would imagine playing in retirement, but Ellie brings the "bling bling" to blingo with hip hop tunes from the 90s to today, with a few pop tunes for good measure. It's fun and free to play. You play for prizes, such as a salon gift card, shots, food and even a $25 bar tab. And the best part is that the winner of the final blackout round receives a golden chalice. Need I say more?

Classic neighborhood bar. We were there on a Saturday afternoon. Great beer specials. Fun bartender. Lots of live music all week long.

What Type of music? And age group?

Shit. If you need to ask, you need to get out more so just go, it's not like they charge a cover (cause they don't). If whatever is playing isn't your thing, you're in NE and just go to a different bar. Plus the 331 website calendar includes links…

It's pushed off into a corner, not on display like a viewing center attraction. It's big with furries and pups The scariest part of this place was the wax figures of the abusive musicians on the walls (Elvis and ozzy) The bathrooms, good. Luck.

Came with visibly queer and alternative members in our group and I was the only one given a stamp to be allowed to drink. Meanwhile, other members, again, visibly queer and alternative in literal leather vests and chains, were given Xs on their hands even though they were sober. When our group asked the bouncer what the issue was, again, very politely, he was so mean he made one of the members of our group cry. He kicked the whole group out when we were genuinely trying to get a drink, vibe, and go. It was the most unwelcoming experience and so unprofessional. The bouncer, a blondish curly haired male presenting person was the one who was so horrible to us. Other patrons witnessed it and said we were treated unfairly as well. I've worked in the service industry for years and am very aware of being a good patron and we did not have any rude members of our party. It was honestly an insane experience I've never had before. Would never go back. Spoke to other queer friends and the said they've also had negative experiences from the staff here. Again, the patrons were amazing but the specific curly haired bouncer was a hugeeeee a hole.

They had the wrong time down but were able to fix the seating situation fairly quickly. Service seemed a little slow, but they were quite busy and still in the process of decorating/setting up for Halloween. The playlist was a hit, but the music would cut in and out or stop entirely which messed up the vibe. They usually take orders ahead online or you can order when you arrive. A few people from our group ordered with the server and I got my food first. Not only was my food kind of cold, other folks didn't get their meal for over 20 mins. I also found it odd that all the people who were seated and ready received their food last and the other folks who ordered ahead of time but weren't present for their food brought out. The food basically sat on the table for an hour with napkins over it. I'd rate the food about a 4/10. The steaks were made to order and the fish, but I'd recommend working more on their timing so the food comes out hot and fresh. They gave my dad a good waffle from someone else's order that had been sitting on the table for an hour. It was rock solid and cold. The drinks are expensive and not worth the price to me. I think this is a good place to check out if you want to hear some good music and maybe have a mimosa. If you order food, I'd recommend ordering in person and ordering things that need to be prepared fresh.

We came here to see a jazz band performing on their little stage by the window, and that was a very cool experience. They had open-mic comedy on that stage afterward which I wasn't there for, but if you like that scene this is a nice place for it. They have a modest food menu with good prices. I ordered & paid for a jalapeno cheese dog, but was later informed that they were out of those. They offered me one of their one-dollar-cheaper dogs, which was fine, except that they didn't even reimburse me for the extra dollar I paid. I reckon I should have said something, but that's not the point. Little mistake but the guys behind the bar were still very friendly and I like this place. I'll return for sure.
