***UPDATE*** I just received the results of my cat scan that clearly states I do indeed have PE's…read morebilaterally, as per the scan on 3/8/2022. "Dr" Rachel Terlecky (sp) had her nurses discharge me and tell me I didn't have blood clots in my lungs anymore, because in March this "hospital" said I had them in both lungs. The results I just received say the rt side has cleared up. But her nurses dismissed me and said that "dr" terlecky said I didn't have blood clots, they didn't even ultrasound the back of my knee where 28 days ago I was told I had a dvt behind my knee, I'm guessing the swelling and pain means that one is still present as well. How do you tell someone there blood clots in their lungs are gone when they aren't? The nurses said take some Tylenol, and I quote, you "probably just pulled something in there", one removed my iv and left the room the other put discharge papers on the bed and then left. I personally removed myself from the heart monitor, they didn't even unhook it. ***end of update***just Wish I could put zero stars. Worst experience ever. Not sure why they give you a call light, they don't come to check on you for 55 mins so you may as well not push that button. And no they weren't busy. I'm climbed out of the bed over the railing and there they sat across the hall laughing and doing nothing talking about patients loud enough to hear from across the hall. I was diagnosed with something 28 days ago in this dump, I mean hospital? and I felt horrible today with same symptoms, they didn't even check it and said I no longer had said diagnosis. Here I am discharged at 315a in the same excruciating pain that I was in when I went there at 10p...So, who is correct? The "care team" from last month or the "no care team" from tonight? I would not take my worst enemy to this place. I wish I could post the video that I took. Atrocious. Worst experience ever. Not sure why they give you a call light, they wait 55 mins respond. Very disappointing. Employee manning the "registration" desk is very loud and has no difficulty…read moretalking over you when you attempt to check in. She also has no sense of propriety or discernment regarding HIPPA or the fact that shouting out the names, addresses, date of birth, and insurance information is completely inappropriate. Having had a lab order sent in from an out of town medical facility, I attempted to explain to her that "someone had called me to notify me that the order for the series of 4 labs was on file".....only able to get out the first 4 words of that previous sentence before she interrupted shouting in her loud nasal voice..."I DIDN'T CALL YOU! We didn't call you! There are only two of us here and we don't call people!" Needless to say...it took further explanation to get her to comprehend that a call had notified Me that the order for labs had been emailed and could she please check her records to see that the paperwork (an order for a series of 4 urinalysis tests) had arrived. After much defensiveness and excuse making, she finally located the order. She then proceeded to ask in her loud shrill voice for all to hear (as she had the previous 2 patients before me) personal information, which I had to lean over the counter to whisper to avoid the entire waiting room from hearing. It's NOT ok to yell out addresses, insurance providers, socials, and DOBS, or treat elderly & ill patients with disrespect. I did my best to deal with the obviously untrained and total "me-centric" personality behind the desk in order to get the labs completed. Had she not yelled at an elderly lady, who inadvertently walked toward the lab room rather than the registration desk, two clients before me, I probably would've been more forgiving of her obviously low client services ability & non-conformity to hospital protocol. Things escalated from annoying and unprofessional to down right hostile and rude when I requested the cost of the lab and asked to pay in advance. I was then treated to more shrill comments in her overly loud grating voice as follows: "I don't know pricing! I don't collect money here!" Another 5 min was spent asking her to login in to her direct to hospital networked computer or rummage for a price list. She finally located a price list and informed me that each lab (series of 4 total) would be billed at over $30 each. When I had the audacity to request that she note in her file to have billing call me to negotiate a more industry standard price for this test, (yes I checked before I went there and the industry standard of $12 is appropriate) she again loudly and argumentatively commented "Maybe you would like to go to another lab then!" Since my order had already been sent to this facility and the testing is paramount for my teen son's DVT, I decided to dispense with her combative attitude and carry out the test. My teen son was miserable and appalled at her behavior during the visit (especially when she treated the adorable elderly lady with such contempt and disrespect) and was very upset when we left. He asked why I requested she note her file so hospital billing could see that I wanted to pre-pay the lab series & I had to explain to him that it's not always best to let a bully, who is obviously disinclined to serve the public in the capacity of her job, create a billing issue down the road, even if it takes a few more minutes of agony to get them to perform their duties. My son's comment was "it wasn't your job to train her." I agree with his statement. I've notified the hospital billing department of the request to pre-pay the lab series and that they should notify hospital administration to a ticking time bomb in their midst in the form of a future (and current)HIPPA violation possibility due to her need to shout out private information. Once notified (via email as we had been communicating regarding income and financial aid toward the unexpected ER visit that lead to the discovery of the DVT) I was promptly informed that billing would no longer be communicating with me regarding my bill via email and that I would now have to call the billing office. Please note that I've called the billing office numerous times to sit on hold & ultimately end up leaving messages. Please also note that I have received zero billing from my son's ER visit on SEPT 17, and had been proactively contacting via phone and email to work to get all documentation on file to address the ER visit that unfortunately took place during a health coverage gap of 30 days. It is untenable that a hospital outpatient lab would charge double the industry standard price for a urinalysis, employ a person such as the person behind the front desk who's obviously either poorly trained OR just completely uncaring, and it's beyond ridiculous for a billing department to REFUSE to communicate through a previously agreed upon format.

I was referred to DIR by Dr. Mark Striebel who previously practiced family medicine in Huber Heights, he has since moved his practice to Richmond. Dr. Kamal Morar diagnosed my condition, post DVT in my left leg, as insufficient blood flow. He scheduled a procedure to Cath my left leg to get better blood flow. After the initial procedure, my symptoms of leg swelling was not improved. My leg got progressively worse, so I went back to DIR. This time I met with Dr. Sebastian. Dr. Sebastian formulated a plan to Cath both legs, and insert a stent in my right leg. I had no issues with my right leg at that time. I arrived on the day of my scheduled procedure and learned that Dr. Morar would be performing the procedure. I had high hopes that this second procedure would correct my issue of swelling in my left leg. During the procedure I felt excruciating pain in my legs as they were catherizing my legs. I was told post op that Dr. Morar ran short on time and was unable to place the stent in my right thigh. My leg had ulcers that had developed since my first Cath on my left leg. I soon realized that I had lost a fair amount of my mobility in both legs. I received no referral or medical advice on the ulcers on my left leg. I realized I was not receiving quality medical treatment or advice from the Doctors at DIR. I went to a wound Doctor at Sycamore and within six weeks my ulcers had all healed. The Doctor also provided a prescription for compression stockings for my left leg. It's been over a year now with no ulcers and no swelling, but I wear my compression stocking religiously every day. I realize all of the Cath procedures caused more harm than good. As stated earlier, I now must live the rest of my life with pain in my legs, and with limited mobility. Think twice before turning your health issues over to DIR blindly like I did. My bill for all procedures with DIR are paid in full.

I found TLC on Yelp and with its high rating, great reviews, and the fact that it is located not too far from home, I decided to make an appointment. Everyone here is really friendly. They very clearly outlined the process, the pros, cons, worse outcomes, best outcomes, etc. After reading several pages outlining all the horrible things that could go wrong, I almost changed my mind... but knowing other people that have done it and the success they've seen, I was set on it. My first appointment was just to have my eyes examined, sign all the paperwork, and learn everything I needed to know in order to be fully prepared. My next visit was for the procedure. This day was rough for me personally. I wasn't nervous to have it done (heck, I can do anything for 30 seconds) but after waiting over three hours in the small waiting room I almost lost my mind. When appointments are required and you know how many people are scheduled to come in that day, you roughly know how long things are going to take. Instead of trying to pack in as many patients as you possibly could in one day, maybe focus on your patients overall experience. I wouldn't have cared had they called me and shared that they overbooked and needed to change my appointment. That would have taken my experience from barely a three star, maybe even to five. A few days after the procedure I went back in for a check up that was literally less than five minutes from check in to check out. Overall, I'm glad that I did it. The day of did suck, mainly because of the waiting for so long, but I can see and for that, I am super happy.
