Due to skin cancer on my lower eyelid Dr. Gallo had to do a face lift to the left side of my face to be able to replace the 6cm area of cancer removed. You really have to look closely to see the amazing work he did. Extremely minimal scarring, minimal healing time and as a diabetic i was amazed. I cannot recommend Dr. Gallo and his staff enough! You cannot find anyone who can take care of you this well. He even improved the area of scarring that I had from previous skin cancer surgery. I had an 8:15AM appointment this morning with an ophthalmologist plastic surgeon. My eyelids need to be raised as I look through my eyelashes. I got the referral in July and today was the first possible appointment with this particular Doctor. This was on Pleasantville Dr in Lancaster. I got there at 8:05. Filled out all the endless forms and was called back at 8:15. The nurse spent 5 minutes going over my stuff. Then left. And I sat, and sat, and sat, and sat...... I texted John at 9:00 that I was giving them 10 more minutes and was out of there. At 9:15, I walked out. I had been in that exam room for 55 minutes with NOT ONE SINGLE PERSON to come into the room. Nobody once told me that the Doctor was running behind. Look, I've gone to Doctors who got behind. One of my Doctors in Ft. Myers would sometimes be up to 2 hours behind by the time I saw her. The office staff kept me informed and reminded me that when she finally got to me, I would be "her world" and she would take whatever time she needed to complete my exam. I adored her! And was willing to wait. The staff kept me informed and if I called ahead of time, they would tell me if she was running on time or not. Anyway, these are my thoughts. Doctors who themselves nor their staff care enough about a patient (I AM YOUR CUSTOMER!!!!) to even stick their head in the door and tell you they are running behind and to ask nicely for your patience, I get it. But to close a door and have a CUSTOMER just sit there in an exam chair for an hour? NO WAY!!!! When I walked out, the 2 gals in reception were sitting there, not working, their chairs facing each other and chatting. As I told them WHY I was leaving, the Dr. walked out of an exam room with another patient and told me he would be with me in a bit. I told him matteroffactly that there was no way in the world I would allow him to touch me as he doesn't even care enough to let a CUSTOMER know that he is running behind. I wasn't loud, I wasn't rude, but I WAS matter of fact. Folks, NOBODY has to be treated that way! I would NEVER allow some Doctor who obviously cares NOTHING about his patients to do eye surgery on me! And you do NOT ever have to put up with it either. We are not pieces of garbage. I have suffered with super dry eyes from nerve damaged by a botched root canal years ago. After finding punctal plugs to be helpful but not staying in place, my eye doctor offered that sealing my tear ducts permanently might be an option. I was wholly unprepared for the pain of the procedure and at one point was terrified as I saw smoke rising above my eyes. I found Dr. Cho to be competent and confident if not somewhat arrogant and rushed. Its pretty awful to have your eye doctor tell you that in fact, that after all the stress and pain that the tear duct is not completely sealed. At least I learned to ask questions and advocate for myself in future doctor appointments. I will NOT be having the other eye done. read more

Possible Bait and Switch? My concern is that I originally made the appointment based on the fact that I was told it would be a free consultation. Three months later, I received a bill from Dr. Gallo's office for about 35.00, which was unexpected. Upon calling the billing associate, I was told that I owe about 35.00 because they billed my insurance and it wasn't completely covered. If you decide to use Gallo's services, it may be best to get in writing that it is a free consultation. read more

Unethical. I went in for a 'free consultation' for lower eye lids. Doctor insisted I get my thyroid checked and wrote up a lab order. I did not use the lab order. And then they attempted to bill my insurance for almost $300. The aggressive follow up to attempt to get me to use the lab order was suspect and not appreciated. read more

I had previously had my lower eyelids done by a different Plastic surgeon. I then went to Dr Gallo and he did a revision on the lower eyelids, did my upper eyelids and a brow lift on me. The results are amazing. His professionalism, skills and bedside manner are beyond reproach. Prior to surgery, I was shown before and after pictures of others that have had these procedures so that I would know what to expect and all of my questions were answered. Terrible experiences. My husband was injured and broke the bones around his eye. This surgeon has no bedside manner, doesn't seem to pay much attention. Just after the surgery at the checkup exam he didn't even care about the blurred vision and pain/pressure. Four months later and he still doesn't care about the blurred vision, pain, headaches, blurred vision, eye watering, etc. Doesn't want to admit the titanium plate he inserted is not positioned correctly and is pushing the eye. I visited Dr. Gallo for concerns with bags under my eyes. He had performed a highly successful surgery on me five years earlier. Dr. Gallo is honest, trustworthy, confident and highly skilled. He described the surgery, answered all my questions and even admitted he would not be able to make it 'perfect' due to my age. A few weeks later, he performed a lower lid blepharoplasty on both of my eyes at a very reasonable cost. The recovery was exactly as he described. Within two weeks, I was able to be seen in public with very little evidence I even had surgery. Within four weeks, my swelling and bruising were completely gone and the scarring was barely detectable. Those bags under my eyes haunted me for most of my adult life and now they are gone. I had a corneal abrasion that was diagnosed in Dublins ER and they referred me here. They did get me in pretty quick so I liked that but we got there and waited over an hour for my appointment. Finally he got there and zipped through my appointment. Didn't care that I was in excruciating pain every time I blinked. Just wrote me a script for eye drops and sent me home. As we were leaving I heard him say, "now I'm finally going home". Rude. I saw him on a Friday and he said I would be better by Monday, but I'm not. I called in the office and they told me to come in again. I was complaining about the pain the entire time and he basically told me it doesn't hurt. That im getting better. Told me to double my doses and sent me home. I feel completely ignored by him. I made an appointment with my General Practitioner for a second opinion. If you want someone that will actually pay attention to your concerns, don't go here. read more

Dr. Gallo does not perform surgery based on his recommendation. It was a $6000 waste of money and recovery time. He recommended a mini face lift to eliminate smile lines - the surgery did nothing to the smile lines as they are exactly the same. He claimed to have not "remembered" stating that juvederm would be a waste of time and that a mini face lift would be the best option. I'm thoroughly disappointed in his abilities and wish to stop anyone else from making the mistake of trusting his judgement and skillset. read more

Dr. Gallo performed my facelift. At my follow-up visit he didn't listen to my complaints when I said the facelift was unsuccessful. I have before and after pictures that look exactly the same. Another plastics doctor said other than eyelifts, he isn't good at anything. It was a complete waste of a large amount of money. He does not stand behind his work. read more
