Surgeon cleared him for regular diet, we asked nurse for lunch at 11 am, said he would request and lied about it. By 5 pm, still no food and had to ask front desk person for a food while my son was taking pain meds. Finally fed by 7 pm. Several other patients on floor had not been fed all day. mMedications were not being given. Had to keep advocating for meds; nuse stated if my son was in pain & asked for meds, then they administer. Patient is responsible to inquire and make sure meds are distributed. My son would inquire, hour and a half goes by... no nurse with meds. Advocate parent calls and says my son has been inquiring and not getting care, you guys need to get down there & provide care; we are documenting. Front desk person comes out & confronts parent stating we have no right to say "do your job & administer medication.". Nor do ee have the right to be concerned about not being permitted to stay in our sons room at night, while he has not been receiving proper care all day without constant advocating. Never have i been to a hospital where patients on medications are required to track & tell staff when to medicate, they dont document urine or stool output, nor feed patients. (i had to go to cafeteria to purchase food because none being provided while taking pain meds). Met two other patients while there for just two days.., all of us experiencing identical issues. This violates Grants policy regarding patient care & safety. Not to mention Ohio patient governmental standards.

Terra is an office manager here and has made the experience so seamless, setting the true expectations from the beginning. Krystal is a therapist, who is simply amazing bc she is able to be bluntly honest without coming off as insensitive or a jerk. She educates. So many people need this for themselves! This place is a joke and i cant imagine if the workers are not wanting to help family members see a patient what are they doing to care for them!!!! I am so frustrated with this place. Based on our observations, while visiting, and their feedback at the hospital, Nationwide Children's Hospital is a great facility with a very caring and dedicated staff. This is a HUGE campus that is spread out for blocks. I know where we were, but I don't know what the building is called. I know the underground parking garage was blue. Parking was $2, no matter how long we were there. We did not hit the cafeteria but did stop in at a Crimson Cup coffee shop for something to drink. They had some drinks and snacks there. Would I go back? If I had to, yes, but I'd rather not. You know what I mean. This is a hard one to review because ultimately it's a pretty bad situation. Unless you work there, it's the last place you want to be. I'm looking at it like this - If I had to be at a children's hospital, I was happy with Nationwide Children's Hospital.

They did recommend to main campus as they are not available after 10pm.they insisted us take ambulance but we denied it and drove my car. Admitted and allocated room after 2hrs.Abscess with drainage and redness they treated with a big procedure, came up with MRI , MRT and cut and 4days in hospital. They pressure us go for MRI where we actually denied, and she did not layover on mri bed. Again they forced us with anesthesia. Initially they told it's MRI it would cost us less than 1000$, but we received bill for MRI MRT and supportive nurse+specialist charge all around 10000$+ only for this result Which would not cover by the insurance. And treatment cost is more than my c-section cost. Never expected that much bill for small abscess. my cost responsibility is 60% more than c-section price after insurance. I feel big scam here for small procedure.I Never recommend this hospital as we are new to OH and no PCP, we went there.

The staffing is questionable on their professionalism, dedication, coverage, personality, fluency in English, etc. There doesn't seem to be any sense of urgency in the staff to check on a call light. S-L-O-W response to requests for most anything. There are a few FRIENDLY, STELLAR, WONDERFUL and PROFESSIONAL staff. Get to know who they are! Many seem to be there for a paycheck only. Questionable "help" for patients, not real strict on following Dr. orders for medications or followup of X-rays or scans or PT OT or speech therapy schedules. Very hit or miss. Hard to tell sometimes who staff are or what their role is... Bad about displaying ID's or introducing themselves to the patient or visitors in the room.

Understand this caveat, NOBODY IS TALKING ABOUT PHYSICAL VIOLENCE OR ABUSE. They say unnecessary or disrespectful things all the time. However, when I told one these wonders how I felt, she went crying to the "nurse in charge" saying I yelled at her. The one I had was getting on my nerves and when I told her, she went crying....I wasn't feeling well! I was in the f!@#ing hospital! They put my heart into A FIB, I was uncomfortable as hell, and when I asked this snowflake a question she didn't stop talking long enough to listen so I got louder and then she went flying out of the room, so upset, the poor thing! As I was going down to a procedure to shock my heart into a normal rhythm, snowflake's buddy, nurse in charge Ratchet, came to confront me....as I am going down to a f@#$ing procedure....."you can't yell at nurses." WTF!! You know what I did? I got my heart shocked back into a correct rhythm, I packed up and left! I found the only nurse I had during 9 days that made some sense, I packed my stuff and just told them what I thought all the way out the door. For 8 long days I put up with weird women acting like they were a nurse. When did they become so freaking sensitive that even when they f@#$ up, which is often enough, I have to say, " Sure snowflake!!! Please don't let it bother you a bit that my heart has been in an irregular beat for nearly 24 hours! Sure snowflake, I'm just the patient who has had to put up with weird women pretending to be a nurse. Sure snowflake! I'm only in pain and uncomfortable from yesterday's procedure that shot wires through my groin to shock my heart into an abnormal beat! Sure snowflake!! I just got done telling you all about my experiences with your snowflake buddies! Don't mind me, I'm only the patient who has had to put up with inappropriate questions, grabbing my arm while I'm in a deep sleep, and asking to a grown man, "what are you doing?" when I was trying to trim my toe nails. Who TF are they to be worrying about my hygiene habits? Yeah! I wrote a narrative that I was going to give to nurse in charge Ratchet but I didn't because I would be leaving soon. OSU has LOTS of PR problems. What would any of these snowflakes do if someone yelled at them in the grocery store? I can tell you right now snowflake, all that privilege they throw around in the hospital won't flush in the real world. This is a heart hospital. Do you any of you think for a NY minute you can get over yourselves and understand that the patient isn't feeling well and your privileged, snowflake status and being so enabled to be a MF ing snowflake isn't helping any of that. Just sayin.
