I deeply regret the day I connected with Ray Ochoa. I don't think I have ever met someone so duplicitous. I chose his company based on a great estimate, but 1 day before go-time, he raised the price by $1000. He then blamed it on me saying that I said laminate flooring--not hardwood. That's strange because I got his name from Hardwood Bargains and never considered laminate. I wish this was the worst thing I had to say. Ultimately, Ray released ASBESTOS into our home by improper removal of untested flooring. He now refuses to communicate with us or to honor our request to have our home and carpets thoroughly cleaned. Have I mentioned that we have a 3 week old baby and a daughter who isn't even 2 yet? This is devastating and scary. Ray's paperwork boasts a million dollar insurance policy. But he will not even use $1700 to remedy a situation as dire as this one. Ray assured me that he would take care of things, that he would make things right. He said he understands because he has children. I asked for a small amount of money to thouroughly test and clean our home. Yesterday, Ray said he wouldn't make good on what he said and that we would have to sue him to get what we've asked for. Throughout this process, Ray has made sure to protect only himself. He has said one thing and changed his story over and over and over again. Consideration for the health of my children has gone out the window. Please do not support this man or his company. He cannot be trusted with anything big or small. His word apparently means nothing. If the other reviews start to convince you, just picture a new mom recovering from a c-section trying to clean every surface of her baby's room of tiny asbestos particles. Ray was referred to us by while buying our flooring. We ran into a whole lot of problems during the process, none of which were his fault. He was thorough, making sure proper moisture tests were completed and communicating with the flooring manufacturer to make sure everything was done correctly, which would ensure the floor would be warranted. He helped us work through not only asbestos abatement issues/problems but, moving the furniture around several times from room to room to accommodate the process. With all the problems that occurred, including delay after delay, (not his fault), we finally got through it. We have a beautifully installed floor!!! Ray and his crew are amazing! They are very courteous, communicated throughout the project, and did an amazing job. The level of detail is incredible. I have had many workers doing many things in my home and there are times when I wish I had just done it myself to get the level of detail I wanted, but these guys blew it out of the water. Simply perfect. They had to remove quite a bit of tile and it was a loud and messy process, but you would never know looking at the end result. They put up plastic everywhere and cleaned afterwards to the point where you literally would never have known they were jackhammering tile out for 2 days straight. I didn't even have to dust afterwards. Crazy! Something else I found touching, and I know that's a weird word to use in a flooring company review, but it's accurate... They realized they were going to have to use a rotohammer to get the old tile up on the 2nd day and asked me before they started if the noise would be too much for my 4 month old grandson who lives in our house. How thoughtful is that!?! I was touched by their level of concern. When is the last time a contractor thought of that kind of thing before tearing into your house with a loud tool? I recently had my downstairs flooded and needed to replace all the hard wood floors. I have relatives coming from England in early April and was stressed that I wouldn't get everything done in time. The living room, guest and dining room plus the entryway and hallway. They worked so hard each day, I was amazed. They started on Wednesday and finished today!! The wood flooring looks absolutely amazing. They cleaned up every day before they left. They took time to cover all my paintings on the walls with cellophane.
