Wayside Commons has been open for quite a while now, and was one of the first outdoor shopping…read morecenters in Massachusetts. The only real anchor left since Borders Books left years ago is L.L. Bean. Other small high end shops include Talbots, Paper Source, West Elm, Loft, Jared, Ethan Allen, and others. A few restaurants are in the complex including Seasons 52, Potbelly Sandwiches, Capital Grille, and my personal favorite Not Your Average Joe's. They have plenty of seating throughout the complex and tables and sidewalks in the middle of the parking areas. Some of the parking lot roadways are narrow and confusing (as Anrana S. has noted, very accurately), but overall it's a nice area. The problem I have is that there are so few places that I actually need to go. In Burlington you have so many shopping centers and places to choose from, this shopping center just seems lackluster in decent options than many of the others. Okay. I took time out of my day to drive to the location and go into the store just to talk with--not even a manager--an employee who, talking to her manager over the radio, let me know that they would not in fact see me for my interview and that they were only looking for full-time employees, despite the website and advertising suggesting they were also looking for part-timers. The lack of professionalism and communication shocked me and I'm very dissatisfied with how Nordstrom Rack handled the situation.

The bad part: The sports jacket had to be ordered in my size. It arrived yesterday, not in a box, but stuffed directly into a small plastic envelope.a I took everything back to the store and opened the package there. The jacket was not my size, although a paper tag had been attached to the sleeve contradicting the interior label. It also looked like someone had stepped on it. I learned that the jacket is not (or no longer) in stock in my size. I returned everything, down to the socks. Good part: The return was handled graciously, down to the alterations fee. Bad part: I've wasted almost four hours (I live half-an-hour from the store); I have to start over again; and who knows if I can find anything as nice again? I frankly can't get over order fulfillment deliberately mislabeling clothing that they knew wouldn't fit, and abusing a beautiful garment to save perhaps two dollars on shipping and packaging.
